DOUAI-RHEIMSGREEK BIBLE
The words of king Lamuel. The vision wherewith his mother instructed him.1 Οι λογοι του βασιλεως Λεμουηλ, ο χρησμος, τον οποιον η μητηρ αυτου εδιδαξεν αυτον.
What, O my beloved, what, O the beloved of my womb, what, O the beloved of my vows?2 Τι, υιε μου; και τι, τεκνον της κοιλιας μου; και τι, υιε των ευχων μου;
Give not thy substance to women, and thy riches to destroy kings.3 Μη δωσης τας δυναμεις σου εις τας γυναικας, μηδε τας οδους σου εις τας αφανιστριας των βασιλεων.
Give not to kings, O Lamuel, give not wine to kings: because there is no secret where drunkenness reigneth:4 Δεν ειναι των βασιλεων, Λεμουηλ, δεν ειναι των βασιλεων να πινωσιν οινον, ουδε των ηγεμονων, σικερα?
And lest they drink and forget judgments, and pervert the cause of the children of the poor.5 μηποτε πιοντες λησμονησωσι τον νομον και διαστρεψωσι την κρισιν τινος τεθλιμμενου.
Give strong drink to them that are sad: and wine to them that are grieved in mind:6 Διδετε σικερα εις τους τεθλιμμενους, και οινον εις τους πεπικραμενους την ψυχην?
Let them drink, and forget their want, and remember their sorrow no more.7 δια να πιωσι και να λησμονησωσι την πτωχειαν αυτων και να μη ενθυμωνται πλεον την δυστυχιαν αυτων.
Open thy mouth for the dumb, and for the causes of all the children that pass.8 Ανοιγε το στομα σου υπερ του αφωνου, υπερ της κρισεως παντων των εγκαταλελειμμενων.
Open thy mouth, decree that which is just, and do justice to the needy and poor.9 Ανοιγε το στομα σου, κρινε δικαιως, και υπερασπιζου τον πτωχον και τον ενδεη.
Who shall find a valiant woman? far and from the uttermost coasts is the price of her.10 Γυναικα εναρετον τις θελει ευρει; διοτι η τοιαυτη ειναι πολυ τιμιωτερα υπερ τους μαργαριτας.
The heart of her husband trusteth in her, and he shall have no need of spoils.11 Η καρδια του ανδρος αυτης θαρρει επ' αυτην, και δεν θελει στερεισθαι αφθονιας.
She will render him good, and not evil, all the days of her life.12 Θελει φερει εις αυτον καλον και ουχι κακον, πασας τας ημερας της ζωης αυτης.
She hath sought wool and flax, and hath wrought by the counsel of her hands.13 Ζητει μαλλιον και λιναριον και εργαζεται ευχαριστως με τας χειρας αυτης.
She is like the merchant's ship, she bringeth her bread from afar.14 Ειναι ως τα πλοια των εμπορων?
And she hath risen in the night, and given a prey to her household, and victuals to her maidens.15 Και εγειρεται ενω ειναι ετι νυξ και διδει τροφην εις τον οικον αυτης, και εργα εις τας θεραπαινας αυτης.
She hath considered a field, and bought it: with the fruit of her hands she hath planted a vineyard.16 Θεωρει αγρον και αγοραζει αυτον?
She hath girded her loins with strength, and hath strengthened her arm.17 Ζωνει την οσφυν αυτης με δυναμιν, και ενισχυει τους βραχιονας αυτης.
She hath tasted and seen that her traffic is good: her lamp shall not be put out in the night.18 Αισθανεται οτι το εμποριον αυτης ειναι καλον?
She hath put out her hand to strong things, and her fingers have taken hold of the spindle.19 Βαλλει τας χειρας αυτης εις το αδρακτιον και κρατει εν τη χειρι αυτης την ηλακατην.
She hath opened her hand to the needy, and stretched out her hands to the poor.20 Ανοιγει την χειρα αυτης εις τους πτωχους και εκτεινει τας χειρας αυτης προς τους ενδεεις.
She shall not fear for her house in the cold of snow: for dl her domestics are clothed with double garments.21 Δεν φοβειται την χιονα δια τον οικον αυτης?
She hath made for herself clothing of tapestry: fine linen, and purple is her covering.22 Καμνει εις εαυτην σκεπασματα?
Her husband is honourable in the gates, when he sitteth among the senators of the land.23 Ο ανηρ αυτης γνωριζεται εν ταις πυλαις, οταν καθηται μεταξυ των πρεσβυτερων του τοπου.
She made fine linen, and sold it, end delivered a girdle to the Chanaanite.24 Καμνει λεπτον πανιον και πωλει?
Strength and beauty are her clothing, and she shall laugh in the latter day.25 Ισχυν και ευπρεπειαν ειναι ενδεδυμενη?
She hath opened her mouth to wisdom, and the law of clemency is on her tongue.26 Ανοιγει το στομα αυτης εν σοφια?
She hath looked well to the paths of her house, and hath not eaten her bread idle.27 Επαγρυπνει εις την κυβερνησιν του οικου αυτης και αρτον οκνηριας δεν τρωγει.
Her children rose up, and called her blessed: her husband, and he praised her.28 Τα τεκνα αυτης σηκονονται και μακαριζουσιν αυτην?
Many daughters have gathered together riches: thou hast surpassed them all.29 Πολλαι θυγατερες εφερθησαν αξιως, αλλα συ υπερεβης πασας.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: the woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.30 Ψευδης ειναι η χαρις και ματαιον το καλλος?
Give her of the fruit of her hands: and let her works praise her in the gates.31 Δοτε εις αυτην εκ του καρπου των χειρων αυτης?
