Psalms 123

DOUAI-RHEIMSNEW AMERICAN BIBLE
I rejoiced at the things that were said to me: We shall go into the house of the Lord.1 A song of ascents. To you I raise my eyes, to you enthroned in heaven.
Our feet were standing in thy courts, O Jerusalem.2 Yes, like the eyes of a servant on the hand of his master, Like the eyes of a maid on the hand of her mistress, So our eyes are on the LORD our God, till we are shown favor.
Jerusalem, which is built as a city, which is compact together.3 Show us favor, LORD, show us favor, for we have our fill of contempt.
For thither did the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to praise the name of the Lord.4 We have our fill of insult from the insolent, of disdain from the arrogant.
Because their seats have sat in judgment, seats upon the house of David.
Pray ye for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem: and abundance for them that love thee.
Let peace be in thy strength: and abundance in thy towers.
For the sake of my brethren, and of my neighbours, I spoke peace of thee.
Because of the house of the Lord our God, I have sought good things for thee.
