Psalms 123

DOUAI-RHEIMSKING JAMES BIBLE
I rejoiced at the things that were said to me: We shall go into the house of the Lord.1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
Our feet were standing in thy courts, O Jerusalem.2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
Jerusalem, which is built as a city, which is compact together.3 Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
For thither did the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to praise the name of the Lord.4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
Because their seats have sat in judgment, seats upon the house of David.
Pray ye for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem: and abundance for them that love thee.
Let peace be in thy strength: and abundance in thy towers.
For the sake of my brethren, and of my neighbours, I spoke peace of thee.
Because of the house of the Lord our God, I have sought good things for thee.
