Seconda lettera ai Tessalonicesi 3

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 NEL rimanente, fratelli, pregate per noi, acciocchè la parola del Signore corra, e sia glorificata, come fra voi.	1 Final y, brothers, pray for us that the Lord's message may spread quickly, and be received with honouras it was among you;
2 Ed acciocchè noi siam liberati dagli uomini insolenti, e malvagi; perchè la fede non è di tutti.	2 and pray that we may be preserved from bigoted and evil people, for not everyone has faith.
3 Or il Signore è fedele, il quale vi raffermerà, e vi guarderà dal maligno.	3 You can rely on the Lord, who wil give you strength and guard you from the evil One,
4 E noi ci confidiam di voi, nel Signore, che voi fate, e farete le cose che vi ordiniamo.	4 and we, in the Lord, have every confidence in you, that you are doing and wil go on doing al that wetel you.
5 Or il Signore addirizzi i vostri cuori all’amor di Dio, e alla paziente aspettazione di Cristo	5 May the Lord turn your hearts towards the love of God and the perseverance of Christ.
6 Ora, fratelli, noi vi ordiniamo, nel nome del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, che vi ritiriate da ogni fratello che cammina disordinatamente, e non secondo l’insegnamento che ha ricevuto da noi.	6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge you, brothers, to keep away from any of the brothers wholives an undisciplined life, not in accordance with the tradition you received from us.
7 Perciocchè voi stessi sapete come ci conviene imitare; poichè non ci siam portati disordinatamente fra voi.	7 You know how you should take us as your model: we were not undisciplined when we were with you,
8 E non abbiam mangiato il pane, ricevutolo da alcuno in dono; ma con fatica, e travaglio, lavorando notte e giorno, per non gravare alcun di voi.	8 nor did we ever accept food from anyone without paying for it; no, we worked with unsparing energy,night and day, so as not to be a burden on any of you.
9 Non già che non ne abbiamo la podestà; ma per darvi noi stessi per esempi, acciocchè c’imitiate.	9 This was not because we had no right to be, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to imitate.
10 Perciocchè ancora, quando eravamo fra voi, vi dinunziavamo questo: che chi non vuol lavorare non mangi.	10 We urged you when we were with you not to let anyone eat who refused to work.
11 Imperocchè intendiamo che fra voi ve ne sono alcuni che camminano disordinatamente, non facendo opera alcuna, ma occupandosi in cose vane.	11 Now we hear that there are some of you who are living lives without any discipline, doing no workthemselves but interfering with other people's.
12 Or a tali dinunziamo, e li esortiamo per lo Signor nostro Gesù Cristo che lavorando quietamente, mangino il pane loro.	12 In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and cal on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earningthe food that they eat.
13 Ma, quant’è a voi, fratelli, non vi stancate facendo bene.	13 My brothers, never slacken in doing what is right.
14 E se alcuno non ubbidisce alla nostra parola, significata per questa epistola, notate un tale, e non vi mescolate con lui, acciocchè si vergogni.	14 If anyone refuses to obey what I have written in this letter, take note of him and have nothing to dowith him, so that he wil be ashamed of himself,
15 Ma pur nol tenete per nemico, anzi ammonitelo come fratello	15 though you are not to treat him as an enemy, but to correct him as a brother.
16 Or il Signore stesso della pace vi dia del continuo la pace in ogni maniera. Il Signore sia con tutti voi.	16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at al times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.
17 Il saluto di man propria di me Paolo, che è un segnale in ogni epistola: così scrivo.	17 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL. It is the mark of genuineness in every letter; this is my own writing.
