1 Quiero que sepas que en los últimos tiempos sobrevendrán momentos difíciles.	1 And know this: that in the last days perilous times will press near.
2 Porque los hombres serán egoístas, amigos del dinero, jactanciosos, soberbios, difamadores, rebeldes con sus padres, desagradecidos, impíos,	2 Men will be lovers of themselves, greedy, self-exalting, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked,
3 incapaces de amar, implacables, calumniadores, desenfrenados, crueles, enemigos del bien,	3 without affection, without peace, false accusers, unchaste, cruel, without kindness,
4 traidores, aventureros, obcecados, más amantes de los placeres que de Dios;	4 traitorous, reckless, self-important, loving pleasure more than God,
5 y aunque harán ostentación de piedad, carecerán realmente de ella. ¡Apártate de esa gente!	5 even having the appearance of piety while rejecting its virtue. And so, avoid them.
6 Así son los que se introducen en los hogares, seduciendo a mujeres frívolas y llenas de pecados, que se dejan arrastrar por toda clase de pasiones,	6 For among these are ones who penetrate houses and lead away, like captives, foolish women burdened with sins, who are led away by means of various desires,
7 esas que siempre están aprendiendo, pero nunca llegan a conocer la verdad.	7 always learning, yet never achieving knowledge of the truth.
8 Así como Janés y Jambrés se opusieron a Moisés, ellos también se opondrán a la verdad: son hombres de mentalidad corrompida, descalificados en lo que se refiere a la fe.	8 And in the same manner that Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so also will these resist the truth, men corrupted in mind, reprobates from the faith.
9 Pero no irán lejos, porque su insensatez se pondrá de manifiesto como la de aquellos.	9 But they will not advance beyond a certain point. For the folly of the latter shall be made manifest to all, just as that of the former.
10 Tú, en cambio, has seguido de cerca mi enseñanza, mi modo de vida y mis proyectos, mi fe, mi paciencia, mi amor y mi constancia,	10 But you have fully comprehended my doctrine, instruction, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, patience,
11 así como también, las persecuciones y sufrimientos que debía soportar en Antioquía, Iconio y Listra. ¡Qué persecuciones no he tenido que padecer! Pero de todas me libró el Señor.	11 persecutions, afflictions; such things as happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra; how I endured persecutions, and how the Lord rescued me from everything.
12 Por lo demás, Jesús, tendrán que sufrir persecución.	12 And all those who willingly live the piety in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
13 Los pecadores y los impostores, en cambio, irán de mal en peor, y engañando a los demás, se engañarán a sí mismos.	13 But evil men and deceivers will advance in evil, erring and sending into error.
14 Pero tú permanece fiel a la doctrina que aprendiste y de la que estás plenamente convencido: tú sabes de quiénes la has recibido.	14 Yet truly, you should remain in those things which you have learned and which have been entrusted to you. For you know from whom you have learned them.
15 Recuerda que desde la niñez conoces las Sagradas Escrituras: ellas pueden darte la sabiduría que conduce a la salvación, mediante la fe en Cristo Jesús.	15 And, from your infancy, you have known the Sacred Scriptures, which are able to instruct you toward salvation, through the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 Toda la Escritura está inspirada por Dios, y es útil para enseñar y para argüir, para corregir y para educar en la justicia,	16 All Scripture, having been divinely inspired, is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in justice,
17 a fin de que el hombre de Dios sea perfecto y esté preparado para hacer siempre el bien.	17 so that the man of God may be perfect, having been trained for every good work.
