1 О краю, де шумлять крила, по той бік рік кушійських,	1 Disaster! Land of the whirring locust beyond the rivers of Cush,
2 ти, що шлеш послів морем на очеретяних човнах — по водах! Ідіть, швидкі посланці, до народу дебелого, засмаглого, до народу здавна страшного, народу могутнього, який інших підбиває, землю якого ріки розтинають!	2 who send ambassadors by sea, in little reed-boats across the waters! Go, swift messengers to a nationtal and bronzed, to a people feared far and near, a mighty and masterful nation whose country is criss-crossedwith rivers.
3 О ви всі, що населюєте вселенну, ви, що на землі живете! Коли підіймуть стяг на горах, вважайте! Коли засурмлять, слухайте!	3 Al you who inhabit the world, you who people the earth, when the signal is hoisted on the mountains,you wil see, when the ram's-horn is sounded, you wil hear.
4 Бо так сказав Господь до мене: «Я дивлюсь мовчки з мого житла, як ясна спека при світлі сонця, як росяна хмара під жнивну спеку.»	4 For this is what Yahweh has told me, 'I shall sit here quietly looking down, like the burning heat in thedaytime, like a dewy mist in the heat of harvest.'
5 Бо перед винозборами, як спаде квіт і як зелені грона почнуть достигати, він відріже ножем гіллячки і парості відітне, він їх пооббиває.	5 For, before the harvest, once the flowering is over and blossom turns into ripening grape, the brancheswil be cut off with pruning knives, and the shoots taken off, cut away.
