1 Eis a posteridade de Aarão e de Moisés, no tempo em que o Senhor falou a Moisés no monte Sinai.	1 These are the generations of Aaron and Moses, in the day when the Lord spoke to Moses on mount Sinai.
2 Eis os nomes dos filhos de Aarão: Nadab, o mais velho, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.	2 And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: his firstborn Nadab, then Abihu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3 São estes os nomes dos filhos de Aarão, sacerdotes que receberam a unção e a investidura sacerdotal.	3 These the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests who were anointed and whose hands were filled and consecrated in order to exercise the priesthood.
4 Nadab e Abiú morreram diante do Senhor, quando levaram à sua presença um fogo estranho no deserto do Sinai. Não tinham filhos. Eleazar e Itamar exerceram o ministério sacerdotal em presença de Aarão, seu pai.	4 For Nadab and Abihu died without children, when they offered, in the sight of the Lord, a strange fire, in the desert of Sinai. And so, Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood in the sight of Aaron, their father.
5 O Senhor disse a Moisés:	5 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
6 "Manda vir a tribo de Levi e apresenta-a ao sacerdote Aarão para servi-lo.	6 “Bring forward the tribe of Levi, and cause them to stand in the sight of Aaron the priest, in order to minister to him. And let them keep watch outside,
7 Os levitas se encarregarão de tudo o que foi confiado aos seus cuidados e aos de toda a assembléia, diante da tenda de reunião: e farão assim o serviço do tabernáculo.	7 and let them observe whatever pertains to the ritual for the multitude, in front of the tabernacle of the testimony,
8 Cuidarão de todos os utensílios da tenda de reunião e do que foi confiado aos cuidados dos israelitas; e farão assim o serviço do tabernáculo.	8 and let them take care of the vessels of the tabernacle, serving in its ministry.
9 Darás os levitas a Aarão e seus filhos. Eles serão escolhidos dentre os filhos de Israel para serem inteiramente dele.	9 And you shall give the Levites as a gift to Aaron and his sons; for they have been delivered to them by the sons of Israel.
10 Estabelecerás Aarão e seus filhos para exercerem o ministério sacerdotal. O estrangeiro que se aproximar do santuário será punido de morte."	10 But you shall appoint Aaron and his sons over the service of priesthood. The outsider who approaches to minister shall be put to death.”
11 O Senhor disse a Moisés:	11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
12 "Eu tomei os levitas dentre os filhos de Israel em lugar de todo primogênito, que abre o seio de sua mãe entre todos os israelitas. Os levitas serão meus.	12 “I have taken the Levites from the sons of Israel. For the Levites, and all the firstborn who open the womb among the sons of Israel, shall be mine.
13 Com efeito, todo primogênito é meu. No dia em que feri todos os primogênitos no Egito, reservei para mim todos os que nascem primeiro em Israel, desde os homens até os animais; são meus. Eu sou o Senhor."	13 For every firstborn is mine. From the time that I struck the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I have sanctified for myself whatever is born first in Israel. From man, even to beast, they are mine. I am the Lord.”
14 O Senhor disse a Moisés no deserto do Sinai:	14 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, saying:
15 "Conta os levitas segundo suas casas patriarcais e segundo suas famílias, todos os varões de um mês para cima."	15 “Number the sons of Levi by the houses of their fathers and their families, every male from one month and above.”
16 E Moisés fez esse recenseamento conforme o Senhor lhe tinha ordenado.	16 Moses numbered them, just as the Lord had instructed,
17 Eis os nomes dos filhos de Levi: Gérson, Caat e Merari.	17 and there were found the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon and Kohath and Merari.
18 Eis os nomes dos filhos de Gérson, segundo suas famílias: Lebni e Semei.	18 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei.
19 Filhos de Caat segundo suas famílias: Amrão, Jesaar, Hebron e Oziel.	19 The sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
20 Filhos de Merari, segundo suas famílias: Mooli e Musi. São estas as famílias de Levi, segundo suas casas patriarcais.	20 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi.
21 De Gérson provêm as famílias de Lebni e de Semei: são as famílias dos gersonitas.	21 From Gershon were two families: the Libnites, and the Shimeites.
22 Contando todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, foram recenseados 7.500.	22 The people of these were numbered, of the male sex, from one month and above: seven thousand five hundred.
23 As famílias dos gersonitas acampavam ao ocidente, atrás do tabernáculo.	23 These shall encamp behind the tabernacle, toward the west,
24 O príncipe da casa patriarcal dos gersonitas era Eliasaf, filho de Lael.	24 under the leader Eliasaph the son of Lael.
25 Na tenda de reunião tinham os gersonitas o cuidado do tabernáculo e da tenda, de sua coberta, do véu que cobria a entrada da tenda de reunião,	25 And they shall keep watch over the tabernacle of the covenant:
26 das cortinas do átrio, do véu de entrada no átrio, que circundavam o tabernáculo e o altar, e de suas cordas para todo o serviço.	26 the tabernacle itself, and its covering; the tent that is drawn before the doors of the covering of the covenant; and the curtains of the atrium; likewise, the tent that is suspended at the entrance of the atrium of the tabernacle; and whatever pertains to the ritual of the altar; the cords of the tabernacle and all its implements.
27 De Caat provém as famílias dos amramitas, dos jessaritas, dos habronitas e os ozielitas: estas são as famílias dos caatitas.	27 The kinship of Kohath includes the peoples of the Amramites and Izharites and Hebronites and Uzzielites. These are the families of the Kohathites, having been counted by their names,
28 Contando todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, havia 8.300 encarregados do santuário.	28 all those of the male gender, from one month and above: eight thousand six hundred. They shall keep watch over the Sanctuary,
29 As famílias dos caatitas acampavam para a banda do meio-dia, ao lado do tabernáculo.	29 and they shall encamp toward the south side.
30 O príncipe da casa patriarcal das famílias dos caatitas era Elisafã, filho de Oziel.	30 And their leader shall be Elisaphan the son of Uzziel.
31 Aos seus cuidados foi confiada a guarda da arca, da mesa, do candelabro, dos altares e dos utensílios do santuário que serviam para o ministério, o véu e tudo o que se relacionava com o seu serviço.	31 And they shall take care of the ark, and the table and the lampstand, the altars and the vessels of the Sanctuary, by which they minister, and the veil, and all the articles of this kind.
32 O príncipe dos príncipes dos levitas era Eleazar, filho do sacerdote Aarão: ele tinha a superintendência sobre os que velavam pela guarda do santuário.	32 But the leader of the leaders of the Levites, Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, shall be over those who watch over the care of the Sanctuary.
33 De Merari provêm a família dos moolitas e as dos musitas: estas são as famílias dos meraritas.	33 And truly, from Merari are the peoples of the Mahlites and Mushites, having been counted by their names,
34 Contando todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, foram recenseados 6.200.	34 all those of the male gender, from one month and above: six thousand two hundred.
35 O príncipe da casa patriarcal das famílias de Merari era Suriel, filho de Abiaiel. Acampavam ao norte do tabernáculo.	35 Their leader is Suriel the son of Abihaiel. They shall make camp on the north side.
36 Os filhos de Merari tinham a guarda das tábuas do tabernáculo, de suas travessas, suas colunas, seus pedestais, de todos os seus utensílios e de todo o seu serviço,	36 Under their care shall be the panels of the tabernacle, and the bars, and the columns with their bases, and all the things which pertain to service of this kind,
37 das colunas que se encontravam em volta do átrio com seus pedestais, suas estacas e suas cordas.	37 and the columns of the surrounding atrium with their bases, and the tent pegs with their cords.
38 Moisés, Aarão e seus filhos acampavam diante do tabernáculo, ao oriente, diante da tenda de reunião, ao nascente, e tinham o cuidado do santuário para os israelitas. O estrangeiro que se aproximasse devia ser punido de morte.	38 Moses and Aaron, with their sons, shall make camp before the tabernacle of the covenant, that is, on the east side, holding the custody of the Sanctuary in the midst of the sons of Israel. Whatever foreigner approaches it shall die.
39 O total dos levitas recenseados por Moisés, segundo suas famílias, assim como o Senhor ordenara todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, era de 22.000	39 All the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered by their families according to the precept of the Lord, of the male gender, from one month and above, were twenty-two thousand.
40 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Faze o recenseamento de todos os primogênitos varões entre os israelitas, da idade de um mês para cima, e faze o levantamento dos seus nomes.	40 And the Lord said to Moses: “Number the firstborn of the male sex from the sons of Israel, from one month and above, and you shall take their total.
41 Tomarás para mim os levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos israelitas. Eu sou o Senhor. Tomarás o gado dos levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos do gado dos israelitas."	41 And you shall bring the Levites to me, in place of all the firstborn of the sons of Israel, and you shall bring their cattle to me, in place of all the firstborn of the cattle of the sons of Israel. I am the Lord.”
42 Moisés recenseou todos os primogênitos israelitas segundo a ordem que lhe tinha dado o Senhor.	42 Moses took a census, just as the Lord had instructed, of the firstborn of the sons of Israel.
43 Todos os primogênitos varões recenseados e contados nominalmente, da idade de um mês para cima, eram 22.273.	43 And the males by their names, from one month and above, were twenty-two thousand two hundred seventy-three.
44 O Senhor disse a Moisés:	44 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
45 "Toma os levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos israelitas, e o gado dos levitas em lugar do deles. Os levitas serão meus. Eu sou o Senhor.	45 “Take the Levites, in place of the firstborn of the sons of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites, in place of their cattle, and so the Levites shall be mine. I am the Lord.
46 Como resgate dos 273 primogênitos israelitas que excedem o número dos levitas,	46 But for the price of the two hundred and seventy-three, which exceed the number of the Levites compared to the number of firstborn of the sons of Israel,
47 tomarás cinco siclos por cabeça, de acordo com o siclo do santuário, o qual é de vinte gueras.	47 you shall take five shekels for each head, by the measure of the Sanctuary. A shekel has twenty obols.
48 Darás esse dinheiro a Aarão e a seus filhos para o resgate daqueles que ultrapassam o número dos levitas".	48 And you shall give the money to Aaron and his sons as the price of those that are in excess.”
49 Moisés pegou o dinheiro do resgate dos primogênitos que ultrapassavam o número dos que tinham sido resgatados pelos levitas.	49 Therefore, Moses took the money for those that were in excess, and whom they had redeemed from the Levites
50 Assim recolheu a quantia de 1.365 siclos, segundo o siclo do santuário.	50 in place of the firstborn of the sons of Israel: one thousand three hundred sixty-five shekels, according to the weight of the Sanctuary.
51 E Moisés entregou o dinheiro do resgate a Aarão e a seus filhos, conforme a ordem que o Senhor lhe tinha dado.	51 And he gave it to Aaron and his sons, according to the word by which the Lord had instructed him.
