1 Eis a posteridade de Aarão e de Moisés, no tempo em que o Senhor falou a Moisés no monte Sinai.	1 The following were the descendants of Aaron and Moses at the time that the LORD spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai.
2 Eis os nomes dos filhos de Aarão: Nadab, o mais velho, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.	2 The sons of Aaron were Nadab his first-born, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3 São estes os nomes dos filhos de Aarão, sacerdotes que receberam a unção e a investidura sacerdotal.	3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the anointed priests who were ordained to exercise the priesthood.
4 Nadab e Abiú morreram diante do Senhor, quando levaram à sua presença um fogo estranho no deserto do Sinai. Não tinham filhos. Eleazar e Itamar exerceram o ministério sacerdotal em presença de Aarão, seu pai.	4 But when Nadab and Abihu offered profane fire before the LORD in the desert of Sinai, they met death in the presence of the LORD, and left no sons. Thereafter only Eleazar and Ithamar performed the priestly functions under the direction of their father Aaron.
5 O Senhor disse a Moisés:	5 Now the LORD said to Moses:
6 "Manda vir a tribo de Levi e apresenta-a ao sacerdote Aarão para servi-lo.	6 "Summon the tribe of Levi and present them to Aaron the priest, as his assistants.
7 Os levitas se encarregarão de tudo o que foi confiado aos seus cuidados e aos de toda a assembléia, diante da tenda de reunião: e farão assim o serviço do tabernáculo.	7 They shall discharge his obligations and those of the whole community before the meeting tent by serving at the Dwelling.
8 Cuidarão de todos os utensílios da tenda de reunião e do que foi confiado aos cuidados dos israelitas; e farão assim o serviço do tabernáculo.	8 They shall have custody of all the furnishings of the meeting tent and discharge the duties of the Israelites in the service of the Dwelling.
9 Darás os levitas a Aarão e seus filhos. Eles serão escolhidos dentre os filhos de Israel para serem inteiramente dele.	9 You shall give the Levites to Aaron and his sons; they have been set aside from among the Israelites as dedicated to me.
10 Estabelecerás Aarão e seus filhos para exercerem o ministério sacerdotal. O estrangeiro que se aproximar do santuário será punido de morte."	10 But only Aaron and his descendants shall you appoint to have charge of the priestly functions. Any layman who comes near shall be put to death."
11 O Senhor disse a Moisés:	11 The LORD said to Moses,
12 "Eu tomei os levitas dentre os filhos de Israel em lugar de todo primogênito, que abre o seio de sua mãe entre todos os israelitas. Os levitas serão meus.	12 "It is I who have chosen the Levites from the Israelites in place of every first-born that opens the womb among the Israelites. The Levites, therefore, are mine,
13 Com efeito, todo primogênito é meu. No dia em que feri todos os primogênitos no Egito, reservei para mim todos os que nascem primeiro em Israel, desde os homens até os animais; são meus. Eu sou o Senhor."	13 because every first-born is mine. When I slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt, I made all the first-born in Israel sacred to me, both of man and of beast. They belong to me; I am the LORD."
14 O Senhor disse a Moisés no deserto do Sinai:	14 The LORD said to Moses in the desert of Sinai,
15 "Conta os levitas segundo suas casas patriarcais e segundo suas famílias, todos os varões de um mês para cima."	15 "Take a census of the Levites by ancestral houses and clans, registering every male of a month or more."
16 E Moisés fez esse recenseamento conforme o Senhor lhe tinha ordenado.	16 Moses, therefore, took their census in accordance with the command the LORD had given him.
17 Eis os nomes dos filhos de Levi: Gérson, Caat e Merari.	17 The sons of Levi were named Gershon, Kohath and Merari.
18 Eis os nomes dos filhos de Gérson, segundo suas famílias: Lebni e Semei.	18 The descendants of Gershon, by clans, were named Libni and Shimei.
19 Filhos de Caat segundo suas famílias: Amrão, Jesaar, Hebron e Oziel.	19 The descendants of Kohath, by clans, were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
20 Filhos de Merari, segundo suas famílias: Mooli e Musi. São estas as famílias de Levi, segundo suas casas patriarcais.	20 The descendants of Merari, by clans, were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of the Levites by ancestral houses.
21 De Gérson provêm as famílias de Lebni e de Semei: são as famílias dos gersonitas.	21 To Gershon belonged the clan of the Libnites and the clan of the Shimeites; these were the clans of the Gershonites.
22 Contando todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, foram recenseados 7.500.	22 When all their males of a month or more were registered, they numbered seven thousand five hundred.
23 As famílias dos gersonitas acampavam ao ocidente, atrás do tabernáculo.	23 The clans of the Gershonites camped behind the Dwelling, to the west.
24 O príncipe da casa patriarcal dos gersonitas era Eliasaf, filho de Lael.	24 The prince of their ancestral house was Eliasaph, son of Lael.
25 Na tenda de reunião tinham os gersonitas o cuidado do tabernáculo e da tenda, de sua coberta, do véu que cobria a entrada da tenda de reunião,	25 At the meeting tent they had charge of whatever pertained to the Dwelling, the tent and its covering, the curtain at the entrance of the meeting tent,
26 das cortinas do átrio, do véu de entrada no átrio, que circundavam o tabernáculo e o altar, e de suas cordas para todo o serviço.	26 the hangings of the court, the curtain at the entrance of the court enclosing both the Dwelling and the altar, and the ropes.
27 De Caat provém as famílias dos amramitas, dos jessaritas, dos habronitas e os ozielitas: estas são as famílias dos caatitas.	27 To Kohath belonged the clans of the Amramites, the Izharites, the Hebronites, and the Uzzielites; these were the clans of the Kohathites.
28 Contando todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, havia 8.300 encarregados do santuário.	28 When all their males of a month or more were registered, they numbered eight thousand three hundred. They had charge of the sanctuary.
29 As famílias dos caatitas acampavam para a banda do meio-dia, ao lado do tabernáculo.	29 The clans of the Kohathites camped at the south side of the Dwelling.
30 O príncipe da casa patriarcal das famílias dos caatitas era Elisafã, filho de Oziel.	30 The prince of their ancestral house was Elizaphan, son of Uzziel.
31 Aos seus cuidados foi confiada a guarda da arca, da mesa, do candelabro, dos altares e dos utensílios do santuário que serviam para o ministério, o véu e tudo o que se relacionava com o seu serviço.	31 They had charge of whatever pertained to the ark, the table, the lampstand, the altars, the utensils with which the ministry of the sanctuary was exercised, and the veil.
32 O príncipe dos príncipes dos levitas era Eleazar, filho do sacerdote Aarão: ele tinha a superintendência sobre os que velavam pela guarda do santuário.	32 The chief prince of the Levites, however, was Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest; he was supervisor over those who had charge of the sanctuary.
33 De Merari provêm a família dos moolitas e as dos musitas: estas são as famílias dos meraritas.	33 To Merari belonged the clans of the Mahlites and the Mushites; these were the clans of Merari.
34 Contando todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, foram recenseados 6.200.	34 When all their males of a month or more were registered, they numbered six thousand two hundred.
35 O príncipe da casa patriarcal das famílias de Merari era Suriel, filho de Abiaiel. Acampavam ao norte do tabernáculo.	35 The prince of the ancestral house of the clans of Merari was Zuriel, son of Abihail. They camped at the north side of the Dwelling.
36 Os filhos de Merari tinham a guarda das tábuas do tabernáculo, de suas travessas, suas colunas, seus pedestais, de todos os seus utensílios e de todo o seu serviço,	36 The Merarites were charged with the care of whatever pertained to the boards of the Dwelling, its bars, columns, pedestals, and all its fittings,
37 das colunas que se encontravam em volta do átrio com seus pedestais, suas estacas e suas cordas.	37 as well as the columns of the surrounding court with their pedestals, pegs and ropes.
38 Moisés, Aarão e seus filhos acampavam diante do tabernáculo, ao oriente, diante da tenda de reunião, ao nascente, e tinham o cuidado do santuário para os israelitas. O estrangeiro que se aproximasse devia ser punido de morte.	38 East of the Dwelling, that is, in front of the meeting tent, toward the sunrise, were camped Moses and Aaron and the latter's sons. They discharged the obligations of the sanctuary for the Israelites. Any layman who came near was to be put to death.
39 O total dos levitas recenseados por Moisés, segundo suas famílias, assim como o Senhor ordenara todos os varões da idade de um mês para cima, era de 22.000	39 The total number of male Levites a month old or more whom Moses had registered by clans in keeping with the LORD'S command, was twenty-two thousand.
40 O Senhor disse a Moisés: "Faze o recenseamento de todos os primogênitos varões entre os israelitas, da idade de um mês para cima, e faze o levantamento dos seus nomes.	40 The LORD then said to Moses, "Take a census of all the first-born males of the Israelites a month old or more, and compute their total number.
41 Tomarás para mim os levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos israelitas. Eu sou o Senhor. Tomarás o gado dos levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos do gado dos israelitas."	41 Then assign the Levites to me, the LORD, in place of all the first-born of the Israelites, as well as their cattle in place of all the first-born among the cattle of the Israelites."
42 Moisés recenseou todos os primogênitos israelitas segundo a ordem que lhe tinha dado o Senhor.	42 So Moses took a census of all the first-born of the Israelites, as the LORD had commanded him.
43 Todos os primogênitos varões recenseados e contados nominalmente, da idade de um mês para cima, eram 22.273.	43 When all the first-born males of a month or more were registered, they numbered twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three.
44 O Senhor disse a Moisés:	44 The LORD said to Moses:
45 "Toma os levitas em lugar de todos os primogênitos israelitas, e o gado dos levitas em lugar do deles. Os levitas serão meus. Eu sou o Senhor.	45 "Take the Levites in place of all the first-born of the Israelites, and the Levites' cattle in place of their cattle, that the Levites may belong to me. I am the LORD.
46 Como resgate dos 273 primogênitos israelitas que excedem o número dos levitas,	46 As ransom for the two hundred and seventy-three first-born of the Israelites who outnumber the Levites,
47 tomarás cinco siclos por cabeça, de acordo com o siclo do santuário, o qual é de vinte gueras.	47 you shall take five shekels for each individual, according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel, twenty gerahs to the shekel.
48 Darás esse dinheiro a Aarão e a seus filhos para o resgate daqueles que ultrapassam o número dos levitas".	48 Give this silver to Aaron and his sons as ransom for the extra number."
49 Moisés pegou o dinheiro do resgate dos primogênitos que ultrapassavam o número dos que tinham sido resgatados pelos levitas.	49 So Moses took the silver as ransom from those who were left when the rest had been redeemed by the Levites.
50 Assim recolheu a quantia de 1.365 siclos, segundo o siclo do santuário.	50 From the first-born of the Israelites he received in silver one thousand three hundred and sixty-five shekels according to the sanctuary standard.
51 E Moisés entregou o dinheiro do resgate a Aarão e a seus filhos, conforme a ordem que o Senhor lhe tinha dado.	51 He then gave this ransom silver to Aaron and his sons, as the LORD had commanded him.
