Isaías 21

1 Oráculo do deserto marítimo. Como um furacão desencadeado do meio-dia, assim vem isto do deserto, de uma terra horrível.	1 Oracle on the wastelands by the sea: Like whirlwinds sweeping in waves through the Negeb, there comes from the desert, from the fearful land,
2 Uma visão sinistra me foi revelada: O salteador rouba, o destruidor devasta. Arroja-te, ó Elão, assaltai, ó medos; não tenhais piedade.	2 A cruel sight, revealed to me: the traitor betrays, the despoiler spoils. "Go up, Elam; besiege, O Media; I will put an end to all groaning!"
3 Por essa causa tenho os rins atenazados, e sou tomado de dores como uma mulher no parto. Atordoa-me o sofrimento, cega-me o terror;	3 Therefore my loins are filled with anguish, pangs have seized me like those of a woman in labor; I am too bewildered to hear, too dismayed to look.
4 minha razão desvaira, o terror me invade, e o crepúsculo desejado causa-me espanto.	4 My mind reels, shuddering assails me; My yearning for twilight has turned into dread.
5 Põem a mesa, estendem o tapete, comem e bebem... Alerta, capitães! Untai o escudo.	5 They set the table, spread out the rugs; they eat, they drink. Rise up, O princes, oil the shield!
6 Porque o Senhor me disse: Vai postar uma sentinela! Que ela te anuncie o que vir!	6 For thus says my Lord to me: Go, station a watchman, let him tell what he sees.
7 Se vir uma fila de cavaleiros, dois a dois, uma fila de asnos, outra de camelos, que preste atenção, muita atenção.	7 If he sees a chariot, a pair of horses, Someone riding an ass, someone riding a camel, Then let him pay heed, very close heed.
8 E então grite: Eu vejo! Em meu posto de guarda, Senhor, eu me mantenho o dia inteiro; em meu observatório permaneço de pé todas as noites.	8 Then the watchman cried, "On the watchtower, O my Lord, I stand constantly by day; And I stay at my post through all the watches of the night.
9 Eis que vem a cavalaria, cavaleiros dois a dois. Tomam a palavra e dizem-me: Caiu, caiu Babilônia! Todos os simulacros de seus deuses foram despedaçados contra a terra.	9 Here he comes now: a single chariot, a pair of horses; He calls out and says, 'Fallen, fallen is Babylon, And all the images of her gods are smashed to the ground.'"
10 Ó povo meu, pisado, malhado como o grão, o que aprendi do Senhor dos exércitos, do Deus de Israel, eu te anuncio.	10 O my people who have been threshed, beaten on my threshing floor! What I have heard from the LORD of hosts, The God of Israel, I have announced to you.
11 Oráculo contra Edom. Gritam-me de Seir: Sentinela, em que pé está a noite? Sentinela, em que pé está a noite?	11 Oracle on Edom: They call to me from Seir, "Watchman, how much longer the night? Watchman, how much longer the night?"
12 E a sentinela responde: A manhã chega, igualmente a noite. Se quereis sabê-lo, voltai a interrogar.	12 The watchman replies, "Morning has come, and again night. If you will ask, ask; come back again."
13 Oráculo das estepes. Passai a noite nas brenhas da estepe, caravanas de dedanitas;	13 Oracle on Arabia: In the thicket in the nomad country spend the night, O caravans of Dedanites.
14 ide levar água àqueles que têm sede, habitantes da terra de Pemá, ide oferecer pão aos fugitivos.	14 Meet the thirsty, bring them water; you who dwell in the land of Tema, greet the fugitives with bread.
15 Porque fogem diante das espadas, diante da espada nua, diante do arco retesado, diante do rude combate.	15 They flee from the sword, from the whetted sword; From the taut bow, from the fury of battle.
16 Porque eis o que me disse o Senhor: Ainda {um} ano, contado como os anos do mercenário, e desaparecerá o império de Cedar.	16 For thus says the Lord to me: In another year, like those of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall come to an end.
17 E só ficará um punhado dos valentes arqueiros, filhos de Cedar. O Senhor, Deus de Israel, o disse.	17 Few of Kedar's stalwart archers shall remain, for the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
