1 Ela estende seu vigor de uma extremidade do mundo à outra e governa todas as coisas com felicidade.	1 Thus, she reaches mightily from one end all the way to the other, and she orders all things sweetly.
2 Eu a amei e procurei desde minha juventude, esforçei-me por tê-la por esposa e me enamorei de seus encantos.	2 I have loved her and searched for her from my youth, and have asked to take her to me as my spouse, and I became a lover of her form.
3 Ela mostra a nobreza de sua origem em conviver com Deus, ela é amada pelo Senhor de todas as coisas.	3 She glorifies her lineage by having companionship with God; yes and of all things, the Lord loves her.
4 Ela é iniciada na ciência de Deus e, por sua escolha, decide de suas obras.	4 For she teaches the teaching of God and is the chooser of his works.
5 Se a riqueza é um bem desejável na vida, que há de mais rico que a Sabedoria que tudo criou?	5 And if riches are longed for in life, what is richer than wisdom, which is being served in all things?
6 Se a inteligência do homem consegue operar, o que, então, mais que a Sabedoria, é artífice dos seres?	6 But if the mind is to be served, who, of all that exists, is a greater artisan than she?
7 E se alguém ama a justiça, seus trabalhos são virtudes; ela ensina a temperança e a prudência, a justiça e a força: não há ninguém que seja mais útil aos homens na vida.	7 And if anyone loves justice, her labors hold great virtues; for she teaches temperance and prudence, justice and virtue, and nothing is more useful in human life.
8 Se alguém deseja uma vasta ciência, ela sabe o passado e conjectura o futuro; conhece as sutilezas oratórias e revolve os enigmas; prevê os sinais e os prodígios, e o que tem que acontecer no decurso das idades e dos tempos.	8 And if one desires a multitude of knowledge, she knows the past and forecasts the future; she knows the subtleties of conversation and the response to arguments; she understands the signs and portents, before the events take place, events both of the present time and of future ages.
9 Portanto, resolvi tomá-la por companheira de minha vida, cuidando que ela será para mim uma boa conselheira, e minha consolação nos cuidados e na tristeza.	9 Therefore, I resolved to take her to me to live together, knowing that she will be a good counselor and will console my thoughts and my weariness.
10 Graças a ela, receberei as honras das multidões, e, embora jovem como sou, o respeito dos anciãos.	10 Because of her, I have clarity in the midst of confusion, and honor among the elders in my youth;
11 Reconhecerão a penetração de meu julgamento, e excitarei a admiração dos reis.	11 and I will be found to be astute in judgment, and will be admired in the sight of the mighty, and the faces of leaders will wonder at me.
12 Se me calo, esperarão que eu fale; se falo, estarão atentos; e se prolongo meu discurso, levarão a mão à boca.	12 When I am silent, they will wait for me; when I speak, they will respect me; and when I talk for too long, they will put their hands on their mouths.
13 Por meio dela obterei a imortalidade, e deixarei à posteridade uma lembrança eterna.	13 Thus, by means of her, I will have immortality, and I will bequeath an everlasting memorial to those who come after me.
14 Governarei povos e as nações ser-me-ão submissas.	14 I will set the peoples in order, and nations will be subject to me.
15 Príncipes temíveis estarão cheios de medo ao ouvirem falar de mim; mostrar-me-ei bom para com o povo e valoroso no combate.	15 Hearing me, terrible kings will be afraid; to the multitude, I will be seen as good and valiant in war.
16 Recolhido em minha casa, repousarei junto dela, porque a sua convivência não tem nada de desagradável, e sua intimidade nada de fastidioso; ela traz consigo, pelo contrário, o contentamento e a alegria!	16 When I go into my house, I will repose myself with her, for her conversation has no bitterness, nor her company any tediousness, but only joy and gladness.
17 Meditando comigo mesmo nesses pensamentos, e considerando em meu coração que a imortalidade se encontra na aliança com a Sabedoria,	17 Thinking these things within myself, and recalling in my heart that immortality is the intention of wisdom,
18 a alegria perfeita na sua amizade, contínua riqueza na sua atividade, inteligência nas lições de seus entretenimentos familiares, e glória na comunicação de suas sentenças, saí à sua procura a fim de possuí-la em mim.	18 and that in her friendship is good enjoyment, and in the works of her hands are honors without flaw, and in debate with her is understanding, and glory in sharing conversation with her; I went about seeking, so that I might take her to myself.
19 Eu era um menino vigoroso, dotado de uma alma excelente,	19 For I was an ingenious boy and had been dealt a good soul.
20 ou antes, como era bom, eu vim a um corpo intacto;	20 Even more so, being good, I came to have an undefiled body.
21 mas, consciente de não poder possuir a sabedoria, a não ser por dom de Deus, (e já era inteligência o saber de onde vem o dom), eu me voltei para o Senhor, e invoquei-o, dizendo do fundo do coração:	21 And since I know that it is not possible to be chaste except as a gift from God, and that it is a point of wisdom to know whose gift it is, I approached the Lord, and I besought him, and I said with my whole heart:
