1 Queste sono le mansioni de' figliuoli d'Israele usciti dall'Egitto divisi nelle loro schieresotto la condotta di Mosè e di Aronne,	1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.
2 Descritte da Mosè secondo i luoghi degli alloggiamenti, i quali luoghi ei cambiavano secondol'ordine del Signore.	2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:
3 Partirono adunque da Ramesse il primo mese, ai quindici del mese primo, il giorno dopo laPasqua, i figliuoli d'Israele con gran possanza a vista di tulli gli Egiziani,	3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.
4 I quali seppellivano i loro primogeniti uccisi dal Signore, il quale anche sopra gli deiloro aveva esercitate le sue vendette,	4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.
5 E posarono il campo in Soccoth.	5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.
6 E da Soccoth andarono a Etham, la quale è all'estremità della solitudine.	6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.
7 Donde essendo partiti arrivarono dirimpetto a Phihahiroth, che guarda Beel-Sephon, e poserogli alloggiamenti dinanzi a Magdalo.	7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.
8 E partiti da Phihahiroth passaron pel mezzo del mare nella solitudine: e dopo aver camminatoper tre giorni pel deserto di Etham, posero il campo a Mara.	8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.
9 E da Mara andarono ad Elim, dov'erano dodici fontane di acqua, e settanta palme, e ivi siattendarono.	9 They left Marah and reached Elim. At Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palmtrees; they encamped there.
10 E avendo sloggiato da quel luogo piantarono le tende vicino al mar Rosso. E dal mar Rossoandarono	10 They left Elim and encamped by the Sea of Reeds.
11 Ad accamparsi nel deserto di Sin.	11 They left the Sea of Reeds and encamped in the desert of Sin.
12 Di dove andarono a Daphca.	12 They left the desert of Sin and encamped at Dophkah.
13 E da Daphca passarono in Alus.	13 They left Dophkah and encamped at Alush.
14 E partiti da Alus poser le tende in Raphidim, dove mancò al popolo acqua da bere.	14 They left Alush and encamped at Rephidim; the people found no drinking water there.
15 Da Raphidim andarono a porre gli alloggiamenti nel deserto del Sinai.	15 They left Rephidim and encamped in the desert of Sinai.
16 E partiti dal deserto del Sinai giunsero a' sepolcri della concupiscenza.	16 They left the desert of Sinai and encamped at Kibroth-ha-Taavah.
17 E da' sepolcri della concupiscenza andarono ad attendarsi in Haseroth.	17 They left Kibroth-ha-Taavah and encamped at Hazeroth.
18 E da Aserot giunsero in Rethma.	18 They left Hazeroth and encamped at Rithmah.
19 E da Rethma andarono a porre il campo in Remmomphares.	19 They left Rithmah and encamped at Rimmon-Perez.
20 Di dove partirono, e arrivarono a Lebna.	20 They left Rimmon-Perez and encamped at Libnah.
21 Da Lebna passarono a Ressa.	21 They left Libnah and encamped at Rissah.
22 E partiti da Ressa giunsero a Ceelatha.	22 They left Rissah and encamped at Kehelathah.
23 E di lì passarono ad accampare al monte Sepher.	23 They left Kehelathah and encamped at Mount Shepher.
24 E lasciato il monte Sepher andarono ad Arada.	24 They left Mount Shepher and encamped at Haradah.
25 E di lì si mossero per andare a Maceloth.	25 They left Haradah and encamped at Makheloth.
26 E da Maceloth passarono a Thahath.	26 They left Makheloth and encamped at Tahath.
27 Da Thahath posero il campo a Thare.	27 They left Tahath and encamped at Terah.
28 Donde partirono, e piantarono le tende in Methea.	28 They left Terah and encamped at Mithkah.
29 E da Methea passarono ad Hesmona.	29 They left Mithkah and encamped at Hashmonah.
30 E partiti da Hesmona giunsero a Moseroth.	30 They left Hashmonah and encamped at Moseroth.
31 E da Moseroth andarono ad accamparsi a Benjaacan.	31 They left Moseroth and encamped at Bene-Jaakan.
32 E partiti da Benjaacan giunsero al monte Gadgad.	32 They left Bene-Jaakan and encamped at Hor-Gidgad.
33 Donde partirono, e passarono a Jetebatha,	33 They left Hor-Gidgad and encamped at Jotbathah.
34 E da Jetebatha andarono ad Hebrona.	34 They left Jotbathah and encamped at Abronah.
35 E lasciata Hebrona si attendarono ad Asiongaber.	35 They left Abronah and encamped at Ezion-Geber.
36 Donde partirono, e giunsero nel deserto di Sin, che è Cades.	36 They left Ezion-Geber and encamped in the desert of Zin, that is, at Kadesh.
37 E da Cades andarono a porre gli alloggiamenti sul monte Hor negli ultimi confini della terradi Edom.	37 They left Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor, on the borders of the land of Edom.
38 E Aronne sacerdote sommo salì per ordine del Signore sul monte Hor: ed ivi morì ilquarantesimo anno dopo l'uscita de' figliuoli d'Israele dall'Egitto, il quinto mese, ilprimo del mese,	38 The priest Aaron went up Mount Hor on Yahweh's orders and died there in the fortieth year of theexodus of the Israelites from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.
39 Essendo egli in età di cento ventitre anni.	39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.
40 E Arad re de' Cananei, che abitava verso il mezzo giorno, udì come i figliuoli d'Israeleeran venuti nella terra di Canaan.	40 The king of Arad, the Canaanite who lived in the Negeb of Canaan, heard of the Israelites' arrival.
41 E partiti dal monte Hor andarono ad attendarsi a Salmona.	41 They left Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah.
42 E di lì partirono, e andarono a Phunon.	42 They left Zalmonah and encamped at Punon.
43 E da Phunon passarono ad alloggiare ad Oboth.	43 They left Punon and encamped at Oboth.
44 E da Oboth andarono a Jieabarim, che è ai confini de' Moabiti.	44 They left Oboth and encamped in Moabite territory at Iye-Abarim.
45 E partiti da Jieabarim andarono a piantar le tende a Dibongad.	45 They left Iyim and encamped at Dibon-Gad.
46 Di dove passarono a Helmondeblathaim.	46 They left Dibon-Gad and encamped at Almon-Diblathaim.
47 E da Helmondeblathaim arrivarono alle montagne di Abarim dirimpetto a Nabo.	47 They left Almon-Diblathaim and encamped in the Abarim mountains facing Nebo.
48 E lasciate le montagne di Abarim passarono nelle pianure di Moab sulle rive del Giordanodirimpetto a Gerico.	48 They left the Abarim mountains and encamped on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan oppositeJericho.
49 E ivi si attendarono da Bethsimoth fino ad Abelsatim ne' luoghi più piani de' Moabiti.	49 They encamped near the Jordan between Beth-ha-Jeshimoth and Abel-ha-Shittim, on the Plains ofMoab.
50 Dove il Signore disse a Mosè:	50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:
51 Intima a' figliuoli d'Israele, e di' loro queste cose: Quando, voi avrete passato ilGiordano, entrando nella terra di Canaan,	51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,
52 Sterminate tutti gli abitanti di quel paese: fate in pezzi gli altari, e riducete in polverele statue, e devastate tutti i luoghi eccelsi,	52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.
53 Purificando la terra, e voi l'abiterete: perocché io ne ho dato a voi il dominio.	53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.
54 E ve la dividerete a sorte. A' più darete porzione più ampia: a' meno, più ristretta. Aciascuno sarà data la sua eredità secondo che porterà la sorte. La divisione farassi pertribù, e per famiglie.	54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.
55 Ma se voi non vorrete uccidere gli abitatori del paese; quelli che resteranno, saran per voicome stecchi negli occhi, e lance nei fianchi, e vi daranno da fare nel paese di vostraabitazione.	55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,
56 E farò a voi tutto quello che io avea risoluto di fare ad essi.	56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '
