Ephesians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:	1 Paulus, durch den Willen Gottes Apostel Christi Jesu, an die Heiligen in Ephesus, die an Christus Jesus glauben.
2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, unserem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:	3 Gepriesen sei der Gott und Vater unseres Herrn Jesus Christus: Er hat uns mit allem Segen seines Geistes gesegnet durch unsere Gemeinschaft mit Christus im Himmel.
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:	4 Denn in ihm hat er uns erwählt vor der Erschaffung der Welt, damit wir heilig und untadelig leben vor Gott;
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,	5 er hat uns aus Liebe im Voraus dazu bestimmt, seine Söhne zu werden durch Jesus Christus und nach seinem gnädigen Willen zu ihm zu gelangen,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.	6 zum Lob seiner herrlichen Gnade. Er hat sie uns geschenkt in seinem geliebten Sohn;
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;	7 durch sein Blut haben wir die Erlösung, die Vergebung der Sünden nach dem Reichtum seiner Gnade.
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;	8 Durch sie hat er uns mit aller Weisheit und Einsicht reich beschenkt
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:	9 und hat uns das Geheimnis seines Willens kundgetan, wie er es gnädig im Voraus bestimmt hat:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:	10 Er hat beschlossen, die Fülle der Zeiten heraufzuführen, in Christus alles zu vereinen, alles, was im Himmel und auf Erden ist.
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:	11 Durch ihn sind wir auch als Erben vorherbestimmt und eingesetzt nach dem Plan dessen, der alles so verwirklicht, wie er es in seinem Willen beschließt;
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.	12 wir sind zum Lob seiner Herrlichkeit bestimmt, die wir schon früher auf Christus gehofft haben.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,	13 Durch ihn habt auch ihr das Wort der Wahrheit gehört, das Evangelium von eurer Rettung; durch ihn habt ihr das Siegel des verheißenen Heiligen Geistes empfangen, als ihr den Glauben annahmt.
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.	14 Der Geist ist der erste Anteil des Erbes, das wir erhalten sollen, der Erlösung, durch die wir Gottes Eigentum werden, zum Lob seiner Herrlichkeit.
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,	15 []
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;	16 Darum höre ich nicht auf, für euch zu danken, wenn ich in meinen Gebeten an euch denke; denn ich habe von eurem Glauben an Jesus, den Herrn, und von eurer Liebe zu allen Heiligen gehört.
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:	17 Der Gott Jesu Christi, unseres Herrn, der Vater der Herrlichkeit, gebe euch den Geist der Weisheit und Offenbarung, damit ihr ihn erkennt.
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,	18 Er erleuchte die Augen eures Herzens, damit ihr versteht, zu welcher Hoffnung ihr durch ihn berufen seid, welchen Reichtum die Herrlichkeit seines Erbes den Heiligen schenkt
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,	19 und wie überragend groß seine Macht sich an uns, den Gläubigen, erweist durch das Wirken seiner Kraft und Stärke.
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,	20 Er hat sie an Christus erwiesen, den er von den Toten auferweckt und im Himmel auf den Platz zu seiner Rechten erhoben hat,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:	21 hoch über alle Fürsten und Gewalten, Mächte und Herrschaften und über jeden Namen, der nicht nur in dieser Welt, sondern auch in der zukünftigen genannt wird.
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,	22 Alles hat er ihm zu Füßen gelegt und ihn, der als Haupt alles überragt, über die Kirche gesetzt.
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.	23 Sie ist sein Leib und wird von ihm erfüllt, der das All ganz und gar beherrscht.
