1 With three things my spirit is pleased, which are approved before God and men:	1 - Di tre cose si compiace l'animo mio che son gradite al cospetto di Dio e degli uomini:
2 The concord of brethren, and the love of neighbours, and mall and wife that agree well together.	2 la concordia tra fratelli e l'amicizia tra' vicini e moglie e marito che van d'accordo.
3 Three sorts my soul hateth, and I am greatly grieved at their life:	3 Tre specie [di persone] odia l'anima mia, e ce l'ho assai con la loro esistenza:
4 A poor man that is proud: a rich man that is a liar: an old man that is a fool, and doting.	4 un povero superbo un ricco bugiardo e un vecchio stolto e scimunito.
5 The things that thou hast not gathered in thy youth, how shalt thou find them in thy old age?	5 Quel che non raccogliesti nella tua gioventù come potrai trovarlo nella tua vecchiaia?
6 O how comely is judgment for a grey head, and for ancients to know counsel!	6 Quando sta bene il giudizio dei bianchi capelli e ai vecchi la scienza del consiglio!
7 O how comely is wisdom for the aged, and understanding and counsel to men of honour!	7 Quanto sta bene agli anziani la sapienza e ai dignitari l'intelletto e il consiglio!
8 Much experience is the crown of old men, and the fear of God is their glory.	8 La corona de' vegliardi è la molta esperienza e la loro gloria il timor del Signore.
9 Nine things that are not to be imagined by the heart have I magnified, and the tenth I will utter to men with my tongue.	9 Nove concetti stimo felici in cuor mio e il decimo lo bandirò con la lingua agli uomini.
10 A man that hath joy of his children: and he that liveth and seeth the fall of his enemies.	10 L'uomo che trova letizia ne' figliuoli chi vive e vede la rovina de' propri nemici;
11 Blessed is he. that dwelleth with a wise woman, and that hath not slipped with his tongue, and that hath not served such as are unworthy of him.	11 beato [anche] chi abita con una donna assennata e chi non pecca con la lingua e chi non è servo di persone indegne di lui;
12 Blessed is he that findeth a true friend, and that declareth justice to an ear that heareth.	12 beato chi ha trovato un vero amico e chi espone la giustizia ad un orecchio attento.
13 How great is he that findeth wisdom and knowledge! but there is none above him that feareth the Lord.	13 Quanto è grande colui che ha trovato la sapienza e il sapere! ma non è da più di chi teme il Signore.
14 The fear of God hath set itself above all things:	14 Il timor del Signore si leva al disopra di tutte le cose:
15 Blessed is the man, to whom it is given to have the fear of God: he that holdeth it, to whom shall he be likened?	15 beato l'uomo cui è dato avere il timor di Dio! chi lo possiede a chi mal potrà esser comparato?
16 The fear of God is the beginning of his love: and the beginning of faith is to be fast joined unto it.	16 Il timor di Dio è il principio dell'amor verso di lui ma un principio di confidenza deve congiungersi ad esso.
17 The sadness of the heart is every plague: and the wickedness of a woman is all evil.	17 Cumulo d'ognl piaga è la tristezza del cuore e cumulo d'ognl male è la malvagità della donna.
18 And a man will choose any plague, but the plague of the heart:	18 Ogni plaga [sopporterò] ma non la piaga del cuore,
19 And ally wickedness, but the wickedness of a woman:	19 e ogni malvagità ma non la malvagità di una donna.
20 And any affliction, but the affliction from them that hate him:	20 E ogni calamitàma non la calamità [proveniente] da chi [mi]odia
21 And ally revenge, but the revenge of enemies.	21 e ogni vendetta ma non la vendetta de' nemici.
22 There is no head worse than the head of a serpent:	22 Non c'è veleno peggiore del veleno del serpente
23 And there is no anger above the anger of a woman. It will be more agreeable to abide with a lion and a dragon, than to dwell with a wicked woman.	23 e non c'è furore più [violento] del furore d'una donna. Amerei meglio coabitare con un leone o un drago che stare con una donna malvagia.
24 The wickedness of a woman changeth her face: and she darkeneth her countenance as a bear: and sheweth it like sackcloth. In the midst of her neighbours,	24 La malvagità d'una donna sfigura la sua faccia e rende tetro il suo volto come quello d'un orso, e lo fa somigliare a una lugubre veste. In mezzo ai suoi vicini
25 Her husband groaned, and hearing he sighed a little.	25 geme il marito di lei e ascoltando[li] sospira amaramente.
26 All malice is shore to the malice of a woman, let the lot of sinners fall upon her.	26 Ogni malvagità è piccola in confronto alla malvagità d'una donna, che la sorte del peccatore cada su lei!
27 As the climbing of a sandy way is to the feet of the aged, so is a wife full of tongue to a quiet man.	27 Quale una salita sabbiosa per i piedi d'un vecchio, tale è una donna linguacciuta per un uomo tranquillo.
28 Look not upon a woman's beauty, and desire not a woman for beauty.	28 Non guardare alla bellezza d'una donna, e non bramare una donna a causa della sua ricchezza.
29 A woman's anger, and impudence, and confusion is great.	29 L'ira d'una donna e l'impertinenza e la vergogna [è] grande]
30 A woman, if she have superiority, is contrary to her husband.	30 la donna, se spadroneggia, è contraria al suo marito,
31 A wicked woman abateth the courage, and maketh a heavy countenance, and a wounded heart.	31 Un cuore abbattuto e un volto triste, e uno strazio di cuore, [ecco gli effetti di] una donna malvagia.
32 Feeble hands, and disjointed knees, a woman that doth not make her husband happy.	32 Mani fiacche e ginocchia snervate, [ecco il frutto d']una donna che non rende felice il suo marito.
33 From the woman came the beginning of sin, and by her we all die.	33 Dalla donna ebbe origine il peccato, e per colpa sua tutti moriamo.
34 Give no issue to thy water, no, not a little: nor to a wicked woman liberty to gad abroad.	34 Non lasciare all'acqua tua un'uscita, neanche piccola nè alla donna malvagia la libertà di farsi avanti.
35 If she walk not at thy hand, she will confound thee in the sight of thy enemies.	35 Se non si lascia guidar dalla tua mano, ti svergognerà dinanzi a' nemici:
36 Cut her off from thy flesh, lest she always abuse thee.	36 strappala dal tuo corpo, perchè non abusi sempre di te.
