Psalms 48

1 A psalm of a canticle, for the sons of Core, on the second day of the week.	1 In fine, per li figliuoli di Core.
2 Great is the Lord, and exceedingly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.	2 Tutte genti, udite queste cose; ricevete con le orecchie tutti che abitate la terra;
3 With the joy of the whole earth is mount Sion founded, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king.	3 tutti generati di terra, e gli figliuoli delli uomini; insieme il ricco e il povero.
4 In her houses shall God be known, when he shall protect her.	4 La mia bocca parlerà la sapienza; e il pensiero del mio cuore la prudenza.
5 For behold the kings of the earth assembled themselves: they gathered together.	5 Nella parabola inchinerò la mia orecchia; nel salterio aprirò la mia proposizione.
6 So they saw, and they wondered, they were troubled, they were moved:	6 Il per che temerò nel malo giorno? la iniquità del mio calcagno mi circonderà.
7 trembling took hold of them. There were pains as of a woman in labour.	7 Quelli che si confidano nella sua virtù, e che si gloriano nelle moltitudini delle sue ricchezze.
8 With a vehement wind thou shalt break in pieces the ships of Tharsis.	8 Il fratello non ricompra, ricomprarà l'uomo? a Dio non darà il suo prezzo,
9 As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God hath founded it for ever.	9 e (darà) il prezzo della redenzione della sua anima; e affaticherassi in eterno,
10 We have received thy mercy, O God, in the midst of thy temple.	10 e ancora viverà nella fine.
11 According to thy name, O God, so also is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of justice.	11 Quando vederà li sapienti morire, non vederà il pericolo; l' insipiente e il stolto insieme periranno.
12 Let mount Sion rejoice, and the daughters of Juda be glad; because of thy judgments, O Lord.	12 E agli altri lasceranno le sue ricchezze; e i loro sepolcri saranno loro case in eterno. Li loro tabernacoli saranno della progenie in progenie; nelle sue terre chiamorono il suo nome.
13 Surround Sion, and encompass her: tell ye in her towers.	13 E l'uomo, essendo in onore, non intese; assimigliato è alle bestie senza senno, e simile è fatto a quelle.
14 Set your hearts on her strength; and distribute her houses, that ye may relate it in another generation.	14 Questa loro via è ad essi scandalo; e dopo si compiaceranno nella sua bocca.
15 For this is God, our God unto eternity, and for ever and ever: he shall rule us for evermore.	15 Sono posti nell' inferno come pecore; e la morte pascerà quelli. E nel mattutino signoreggeranno loro [i] giusti; e loro aiutorio invecchierassi nell' inferno dalla loro gloria.
	16 Nientemeno Iddio, quando mi riceverà, ricomparerà l'anima mia dalle mani dell' inferno.
	17 Non temere, quando l' uomo sarà fatto ricco, e quando sarà moltiplicata la gloria della sua casa.
	18 Imperò [che], quando sarà morto, non porterà ogni cosa; e la sua gloria non discenderà con lui.
	19 Per che nella sua vita sarà benedetta la sua anima; e a te confesserà quando gli avrai fatto bene.
	20 Entrerà insino alla generazione de' suoi padri; e già mai non vederà lume.
	21 L'uomo, essendo in onore, non intese; agguagliato è alle bestie senza senno; è fatto simile a quelle.
