| 3 A mulher virtuosa é uma sorte excelente, é o prêmio dos que temem a Deus, será dada ao homem pelas suas boas obras. | 3 A good wife is a good portion. She will be given the portion of those who fear God, like a man who has done good deeds. |
| 4 Terá (o marido dela) satisfeito o coração, seja rico ou pobre, e o seu rosto ver-se-á sempre alegre. | 4 But, rich or poor, with a good heart, his countenance will be cheerful at all times. |

| 6 A acusação duma cidade (inteira), a sedição dum povo, | 6 an accusation made by a city, and the gathering of a mob, |
| 7 a calúnia, coisas estas mais pesadas que a morte; | 7 and a deceitful false accusation. All these are more grievous than death. |
| 8 mas a mulher ciumenta é dor do coração e luto. | 8 A jealous wife is a grief and a mourning to the heart. |
| 9 Na mulher ciosa a língua é um flagelo, que a todos atinge. | 9 In a jealous wife, there is a scourge of the tongue, which communicates with everyone. |
| 10 Como o jugo dos bois desajustado, assim é a mulher má; o que a toma, é como quem toma um escorpião. | 10 Like a yoke of oxen being provoked, so also is a wicked wife. He who has hold of her is like one who has taken hold of a scorpion. |
| 11 A mulher dada ao vinho é motivo de grande cólera e vergonha, e a sua infâmia não será oculta. | 11 An inebriated wife is a great wrath. And her disgrace and indecency will not be covered. |
| 12 A impudicícia da mulher reconhece-se na desfaçatez do olhar e no mover das suas pálpebras. | 12 The fornication of a wife will become known by the haughtiness of her eyes and by her eyelids. |
| 13 Redobra de vigilância sobre a filha que não se retrai (dos homens) para que não se perca, se encontrar ocasião. | 13 So that her daughter will not also turn away, keep a strict watch; otherwise, having found an opportunity, she may enjoy herself. |
| 14 Vigia sobre todo o desavergonhamento dos seus olhos. e não estranhes se ela te desprezar. | 14 Be wary of the irreverence of her eyes, and you should not wonder if she might disregard you. |
| 15 Ela, como um viajante sequioso, abrirá a boca à fonte e beberá de toda a água que tiver a mão, junto de qualquer poste se assentará, e a toda a seta abrirá a aljava até mais não poder. | 15 Like a thirsty traveler, she will open her mouth to the fountain, and she will drink from every water nearby, and she will sit down beside every fencepost, and she will open her quiver to every arrow, until she becomes weary. |
| 16 A graça duma mulher cuidadosa deleita o seu marido, | 16 The grace of an attentive wife will delight her husband, and will fatten his bones. |
| 17 e o seu bom proceder infunde-lhe vigor até aos ossos. É um dom de Deus | 17 Her discipline is a gift from God. |
| 18 uma mulher sensata, amiga do silêncio; nada é comparável a uma mulher bem educada. | 18 Such is an understanding and quiet wife. For there is no substitution for a well-instructed soul. |
| 19 Graça sobre graça é a mulher santa e cheia de pudor. | 19 A holy and contrite wife is grace upon grace. |
| 20 Todo o preço é nada em comparação duma alma casta. | 20 And no amount of money is equal to the value of a soul with self-restraint. |
| 21 Como o Sol que se levanta para o mundo, nas alturas de Deus, assim é a beleza duma mulher virtuosa, ornamento da sua casa. | 21 Like the sun rising over the world in the high places of God, so the beauty of a good wife is the adornment of her house. |
| 22 Como a lâmpada que brilha sobre o candelabro sagrado, assim é a graciosidade do rosto numa idade madura. | 22 Like a lamp shining atop a holy lampstand, so is the beauty of a face in the mature stage of life. |
| 23 Como colunas de ouro sobre bases de prata, assim são, sobre as suas plantas, os pés esbeltos da mulher ponderada. | 23 Like golden pillars upon bases of silver, so are the firm feet of a mature wife upon the soles of her feet. |
| 24 Como fundamentos eternos sobre a pedra sólida, assim são os mandamentos de Deus no coração da mulher santa. | 24 Like everlasting foundations upon a solid rock, so are the commandments of God in the heart of a holy wife. |
| 25 Com duas coisas se entristeceu o meu coração, e a terceira provocou-me a cólera: | 25 By two things, my heart is greatly saddened, and at a third, anger overwhelms me: |
| 26 Um homem de guerra que perece à míngua, tecem, um homem sábio que é desprezado, | 26 a man of war failing because of dire need, and an understanding man treated with contempt, |
| 27 e aquele que passa da justiça ao pecado; a este último reservou Deus para a espada. | 27 and anyone who crosses over from justice to sin. God has prepared such a one for the spear. |
| 28 Duas coisas me parecem difíceis e perigosas: Dificultosamente evitará as faltas o que negoceia, e o taberneiro não estará isento dos pecados da língua. | 28 Two kinds of things have seemed difficult and dangerous to me: a merchant will not be easily freed from his negligence, and a shopkeeper will not be justified by the sins of his lips. |
