| 1 Ora Deus lembrou-Se de Noé, de todos os animais selváticos e de todos os animais domésticos, que estavam com ele na arca, e fez soprar um vento sobre a terra, e as águas diminuíram. | 1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged; |
| 2 Fecharam-se as fontes do abismo e as cataratas do céu, e foram retidas as chuvas (que caiam) do céu. | 2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; |
| 3 As águas, agitadas duma parte para outra, retiraram-se de cima da terra e começaram a diminuir, depois de cento e cinquenta dias. | 3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated. |
| 4 No sétimo més, no vigésimo sétimo dia do mês, parou a arca sobre os montes de Ararat. | 4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. |
| 5 Entretanto as águas iam diminuindo até ao décimo més: no décimo mês, no primeiro dia do mês, apareceram os cumes dos montes. | 5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen. |
| 6 Ao fim de quarenta dias, abriu Noé a janela, que tinha feito na arca, e soltou um corvo, | 6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made: |
| 7 o qual ia e vinha, até que as águas secaram sobre a terra. | 7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. |
| 8 Mandou também uma pomba (sete dias depois) dele, para ver se as águas teriam já cessado de cobrir a face da terra. | 8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; |
| 9 E ela; não encontrando onde pousar o seu pé, tomou a vir a ele para a arca, porque (ainda) as águas estavam sobre a terra: (Noé) estendeu a mão, e, tendo-a tomado, a recolheu na arca. | 9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. |
| 10 Depois de ter esperado outros sete dias, novamente deitou a pomba fora da arca, | 10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; |
| 11 a qual voltou a ele pela tarde, trazendo no bico um ramo de oliveira com as folhas verdes. Entendeu, pois, Noé que as águas já não cobriam a terra. | 11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth. |
| 12 Contudo esperou outros sete dias e mandou a pomba, que não tornou mais a ele. | 12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more. |
| 13 Portanto, no ano seiscentos e um (da vida de Noé), no primeiro mês, no primeiro dia do mês, as águas deixavam a terra: Noé, descoberto o teto da arca, olhou e viu que a superficie da terra se estava a secar. | 13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. |
| 14 No segundo mês, no vigésimo sétimo dia do mês, a terra ficou seca. | 14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried. |
| 15 Então Deus falou a Noé, dizendo: | 15 And God spake unto Noah, saying, |
| 16 sai da arca, tu e tua mulher, teus filhos e as mulheres de teus filhos contigo. | 16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee. |
| 17 Faz sair contigo todos os animais que estão contigo, de todas as espécies, tanto de aves como de bestas, e de todos os répteis, que andam de rastos sobre a terra; enchei a terra, crescei e multiplicai-vos sobre ela. | 17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth. |
| 18 Saiu, pois, Noé com seus filhos, sua mulher e as mulheres de seus filhos. | 18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him: |
| 19 Também saíram da arca todos os animais selváticos e domésticos, e os répteis, que andam de rastos sobre a terra, e todas as aves, segundo a sua espécie. | 19 Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creepeth upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark. |
| 20 E Noé edificou um altar ao Senhor, e, tomando de todos os animais e de todas as aves puras, ofereceu-as em holocausto sobre o altar. | 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. |
| 21 E (com isto) recebeu o Senhor um suave odor, e disse em seu coração: não amaldiçoarei mais a terra por causa dos homens, porque os sentidos e os pensamentos do coração do homem são inclinados para o mal desde a sua mocidade: não tornarei, pois, a ferir todos os seres vivos como fiz. | 21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. |
| 22 Durante todos os dias da terra, a sementeira e a messe, o frio e o calor, o verão e o inverno, a noite e o dia não mais cessarão. | 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. |
