1 Pietro e Giovanni solevano salire al tempio per la preghiera dell'ora nona.	1 Now Peter and John were going up to the temple area for the three o'clock hour of prayer.
2 Ora, c'era un uomo zoppo fin dalla nascita che solevano portare e deporre ogni giorno presso la porta del tempio detta Bella, per chiedere l'elemosina a quelli che entravano nel tempio.	2 And a man crippled from birth was carried and placed at the gate of the temple called "the Beautiful Gate" every day to beg for alms from the people who entered the temple.
3 Vedendo Pietro e Giovanni che stavano per entrare nel tempio, incominciò a chiedere loro l'elemosina.	3 When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms.
4 Allora Pietro, fissandolo negli occhi con Giovanni, disse: "Guarda verso di noi".	4 But Peter looked intently at him, as did John, and said, "Look at us."
5 Quello li guardò attentamente, attendendosi di ricevere da loro qualcosa.	5 He paid attention to them, expecting to receive something from them.
6 Ma Pietro gli disse: "Argento e oro io non ho, ma quel che possiedo te lo do: nel nome di Gesù Cristo, il Nazareno, cammina!".	6 Peter said, "I have neither silver nor gold, but what I do have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazorean, (rise and) walk."
7 E presolo per la mano destra lo sollevò: all'istante gli si rinvigorirono i piedi e le caviglie,	7 Then Peter took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles grew strong.
8 con un balzo saltò in piedi e si mise a camminare ed entrò con essi nel tempio camminando, saltando e lodando Dio.	8 He leaped up, stood, and walked around, and went into the temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God.
9 E tutto il popolo lo vide che camminava e lodava Dio:	9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God,
10 e conoscevano che era proprio quello che stava seduto abitualmente presso la porta Bella del tempio a chiedere l'elemosina. Erano pieni di stupore e di meraviglia per ciò che gli era accaduto.	10 they recognized him as the one who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with amazement and astonishment at what had happened to him.
11 Poiché quegli si teneva stretto a Pietro e a Giovanni, tutto il popolo corse verso di loro sotto il portico detto di Salomone, con grande stupore.	11 As he clung to Peter and John, all the people hurried in amazement toward them in the portico called "Solomon's Portico."
12 Pietro, vedendo ciò, prese a parlare al popolo: "Uomini d'Israele, perché vi meravigliate di questo fatto? Perché guardate verso di noi, come se per nostra forza o per nostra bontà avessimo fatto camminare quest'uomo?	12 When Peter saw this, he addressed the people, "You Israelites, why are you amazed at this, and why do you look so intently at us as if we had made him walk by our own power or piety?
13 Il Dio di Abramo, d'Isacco e di Giacobbe, il Dio dei nostri padri ha glorificato il suo servo Gesù, che voi avete consegnato e rinnegato davanti a Pilato, mentre egli aveva deciso di liberarlo.	13 The God of Abraham, (the God) of Isaac, and (the God) of Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has glorified his servant Jesus whom you handed over and denied in Pilate's presence, when he had decided to release him.
14 Voi avete rinnegato il santo e il giusto, avete chiesto che vi fosse fatta grazia di un assassino	14 You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.
15 e avete ucciso l'autore della vita. Ma Dio lo ha risuscitato dai morti e noi ne siamo testimoni.	15 The author of life you put to death, but God raised him from the dead; of this we are witnesses.
16 E' per aver avuto fede in lui che quest'uomo, che voi vedete e conoscete, è stato risanato in virtù del suo nome. Sì, la fede, che è già suo dono, ha dato a costui la piena guarigione di fronte a tutti voi.	16 And by faith in his name, this man, whom you see and know, his name has made strong, and the faith that comes through it has given him this perfect health, in the presence of all of you.
17 Pertanto, fratelli, io so che lo avete fatto per ignoranza, come anche i vostri capi.	17 Now I know, brothers, that you acted out of ignorance, just as your leaders did;
18 Ma Dio ha così adempiuto ciò che egli aveva preannunciato per bocca di tutti i profeti, ossia che il suo Cristo avrebbe sofferto.	18 but God has thus brought to fulfillment what he had announced beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that his Messiah would suffer.
19 Pentitevi dunque e convertitevi, perché siano cancellati i vostri peccati,	19 Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away,
20 cosicché venga il tempo del refrigerio da parte del Signore ed egli mandi quel Gesù che è stato costituito vostro Messia.	20 and that the Lord may grant you times of refreshment and send you the Messiah already appointed for you, Jesus,
21 E' necessario che egli stia in cielo fino al momento della restaurazione di tutte le cose di cui Dio ha parlato fin dai tempi antichi per bocca dei suoi santi profeti.	21 whom heaven must receive until the times of universal restoration of which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old.
22 Mosè disse: Il Signore Dio vostro vi susciterà di tra i vostri fratelli un profeta come me: lo ascolterete in tutto ciò che vi dirà.	22 For Moses said: 'A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you from among your own kinsmen; to him you shall listen in all that he may say to you.
23 E chiunque non avrà ascoltato quel profeta, sarà sterminato di mezzo al popolo.	23 Everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be cut off from the people.'
24 E tutti i profeti, da Samuele in poi, tutti quanti hanno parlato, hanno anche preannunciato questi giorni.	24 Moreover, all the prophets who spoke, from Samuel and those afterwards, also announced these days.
25 Voi siete i figli dei profeti e del patto che Dio ha concluso con i vostri padri, quando disse ad Abramo: Nella tua discendenza saranno benedette tutte le nazioni della terra.	25 You are the children of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors when he said to Abraham, 'In your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.'
26 A voi per primi Dio, risuscitando il suo servo, lo ha inviato a benedirvi, per distogliere ciascuno dalle vostre malvagità".	26 For you first, God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways."
