1 Preghiera. Di Mosè, servo di Dio. O Signore, tu sei stato un rifugio per noi di generazione in generazione.	1 The Praise of a Canticle, of David. Whoever dwells with the assistance of the Most High will abide in the protection of the God of heaven.
2 Prima che i monti nascessero e venissero alla luce la terra e il mondo, da sempre e per sempre tu sei, o Dio.	2 He will say to the Lord, “You are my supporter and my refuge.” My God, I will hope in him.
3 Tu fai tornare l'uomo nella polvere dicendo: "Tornate, figli degli uomini".	3 For he has freed me from the snare of those who go hunting, and from the harsh word.
4 Sì, mille anni ai tuoi occhi sono come il giorno di ieri ch'è passato, come un turno di veglia nella notte.	4 He will overshadow you with his shoulders, and you will hope under his wings.
5 Li sommergi nel sonno; sono come erba che verdeggia:	5 His truth will surround you with a shield. You will not be afraid: before the terror of the night,
6 al mattino germoglia e verdeggia, alla sera è falciata e dissecca.	6 before the arrow flying in the day, before the troubles that wander in the darkness, nor of invasion and the midday demon.
7 Sì, siamo distrutti dalla tua ira, siamo atterriti dal tuo furore.	7 A thousand will fall before your side and ten thousand before your right hand. Yet it will not draw near you.
8 Tu poni davanti a te le nostre colpe, i nostri peccati occulti alla luce del tuo volto.	8 So then, truly, you will consider with your eyes, and you will see the retribution of sinners.
9 Sì, svaniscono tutti i nostri giorni a causa della tua ira, i nostri anni finiscono come un soffio.	9 For you, O Lord, are my hope. You have set the Most High as your refuge.
10 Gli anni della nostra vita sono in sé settanta, ottanta per i più robusti; ma per la maggior parte di essi non v'è che fatica e affanno. Sì, essi passano e noi voliamo via.	10 Disaster will not draw near to you, and the scourge will not approach your tabernacle.
11 Chi possiede la conoscenza dell'impeto della tua ira? E chi ha il timore della violenza del tuo sdegno?	11 For he has given his Angels charge over you, so as to preserve you in all your ways.
12 Insegnaci a valutare i nostri giorni, e così potremo offrire un cuore sapiente.	12 With their hands, they will carry you, lest you hurt your foot against a stone.
13 Vòlgiti, o Signore, fino a quando...? Muòviti a compassione dei tuoi servi.	13 You will walk over the asp and the king serpent, and you will trample the lion and the dragon.
14 Sàziaci al mattino con la tua grazia, e così esulteremo e ci rallegreremo per tutti i nostri giorni.	14 Because he has hoped in me, I will free him. I will protect him because he has known my name.
15 Rèndici la gioia per i giorni in cui ci hai afflitti, in compenso degli anni in cui abbiamo visto la sventura.	15 He will cry out to me, and I will heed him. I am with him in tribulation. I will rescue him, and I will glorify him.
16 Sia manifesto ai tuoi servi ciò che tu hai fatto e si estenda la tua magnificenza al di sopra dei loro figli.	16 I will fill him with length of days. And I will reveal to him my salvation.
17 Sia su di noi la bontà del Signore nostro Dio. Rafforza per noi l'opera delle nostre mani.
