LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Salmo. Di Davide. Quando era nel deserto di Giuda.	1 [Psalm Of David When he was in the desert of Judah] God, you are my God, I pine for you; my heartthirsts for you, my body longs for you, as a land parched, dreary and waterless.
2 Dio, Dio mio, te cerco fin dall'aurora; di te ha sete l'anima mia; verso di te anela la mia carne, come una terra deserta, arida, senz'acqua.	2 Thus I have gazed on you in the sanctuary, seeing your power and your glory.
3 Così ti contemplo nel santuario per celebrare la tua potenza e la tua gloria.	3 Better your faithful love than life itself; my lips wil praise you.
4 Poiché la tua grazia vale più che la vita, le mie labbra proclameranno le tue lodi.	4 Thus I will bless you al my life, in your name lift up my hands.
5 Così ti benedirò per tutta la mia vita, nel tuo nome stenderò le mie mani.	5 Al my longings fulfil ed as with fat and rich foods, a song of joy on my lips and praise in my mouth.
6 Come a lauto convito si sazierà l'anima mia, mentre con labbra di giubilo ti loderà la mia bocca.	6 On my bed when I think of you, I muse on you in the watches of the night,
7 Se mi ricordo di te sul mio giaciglio, medito su di te nelle veglie notturne...	7 for you have always been my help; in the shadow of your wings I rejoice;
8 Certo, tu ti sei fatto un aiuto per me, mentre all'ombra delle tue ali io esulto di gioia.	8 my heart clings to you, your right hand supports me.
9 A te si stringe l'anima mia, la tua destra mi sostiene.	9 May those who are hounding me to death go down to the depths of the earth,
10 Ma coloro che ingiustamente vanno in cerca dell'anima mia se ne andranno nelle profondità della terra;	10 given over to the blade of the sword, and left as food for jackals.
