LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Al maestro di coro. Dei figli di Core. Salmo.	1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah Psalm] Hear this, all nations, listen, al who dwel on earth,
2 Ascoltate questo, o popoli tutti, udite, voi tutti abitatori del mondo,	2 people high and low, rich and poor alike!
3 sia nobili che plebei, voi ricchi e poveri insieme.	3 My lips have wisdom to utter, my heart good sense to whisper.
4 Detti sapienti parlerà la mia bocca, cose intelligenti la riflessione del mio cuore.	4 I listen careful y to a proverb, I set my riddle to the music of the harp.
5 Tenderò il mio orecchio al detto sentenzioso, svolgerò sull'arpa la mia sentenza misteriosa.	5 Why should I be afraid in times of trouble? Malice dogs me and hems me in.
6 Perché dovrei temere nei giorni di sventura, quando la malvagità m'avvolge di quelli che m'inseguono?	6 They trust in their wealth, and boast of the profusion of their riches.
7 La loro fiducia sta nella loro sostanza e nell'abbondanza delle ricchezze il loro vanto.	7 But no one can ever redeem himself or pay his own ransom to God,
8 Certo, nessuno mai potrà redimersi, nessuno potrà mai dare a Dio il prezzo del suo riscatto.	8 the price for himself is too high; it can never be
9 Troppo caro sarebbe il prezzo dell'anima sua, egli dovrà cedere per sempre,	9 that he wil live on for ever and avoid the sight of the abyss.
10 in modo da poter vivere per sempre e giammai scendere nella fossa.	10 For he wil see the wise also die no less than the fool and the brute, and leave their wealth behind forothers.
11 Poiché ecco: muoiono i sapienti e alla stessa maniera periscono lo stolto e l'empio,	11 For ever no home but their tombs, their dwel ing-place age after age, though they gave their name towhole territories.
12 lasciando ad altri il proprio avere; le tombe saranno le loro eterne dimore, le loro abitazioni di evo in evo. Eppure chiamarono molte terre con i loro nomi!	12 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.
13 L'uomo in onore non comprende d'essere simile alle bestie che vengono sterminate.	13 So they go on in their self-assurance, right up to the end they are content with their lot.Pause
14 Tale è la sorte di coloro che pongono in sé la loro fiducia; tale è la fine di coloro che pongono nella bocca la loro compiacenza.	14 They are penned in Sheol like sheep, Death wil lead them to pasture, and those who are honest wilrule over them. In the morning al trace of them wil be gone, Sheol wil be their home.
15 Come un gregge agli inferi sono destinati, scenderanno senz'altro nel sepolcro e la loro gloria è votata alla rovina, gli inferi saranno la loro abitazione.	15 But my soul God wil ransom from the clutches of Sheol, and wil snatch me up.Pause
16 Certo, Dio redime l'anima mia, dalla stretta degli inferi certo mi prenderà.	16 Do not be overawed when someone gets rich, and lives in ever greater splendour;
17 Non temere se qualcuno s'arricchisce, se aumenta lo sfarzo della sua casa,	17 when he dies he wil take nothing with him, his wealth wil not go down with him.
18 poiché alla sua morte non porterà via nulla, il suo sfarzo non scenderà dietro a lui.	18 Though he pampered himself while he lived -- and people praise you for looking after yourself-
19 Benché nella sua vita si congratuli con l'anima sua: "Sei oggetto di lode, perché hai buona fortuna",	19 he will go to join the ranks of his ancestors, who wil never again see the light.
20 raggiungerà nondimeno la generazione dei suoi padri, i quali in eterno non vedranno la luce.	20 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.
21 Eppure l'uomo in onore non comprende di essere simile alle bestie che vengono sterminate.
