LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Di Davide. Non t'irritare a causa dei malvagi, non invidiare quanti commettono il male.	1 [Of David] Do not get heated about the wicked or envy those who do wrong.
2 Poiché come fieno saran presto falciati, come erba verdeggiante avvizziranno.	2 Quick as the grass they wither, fading like the green of the fields.
3 Confida nel Signore e opera il bene, abita nella terra e goditi le sue ricchezze;	3 Put your trust in Yahweh and do right, make your home in the land and live secure.
4 poni nel Signore la tua gioia, possa egli appagare il desiderio del tuo cuore.	4 Make Yahweh your joy and he will give you your heart's desires.
5 Al Signore affida la tua via, confida in lui ed egli interverrà;	5 Commit your destiny to Yahweh, be confident in him, and he wil act,
6 farà risplendere come luce la tua giustizia e il tuo giudizio come il meriggio.	6 making your uprightness clear as daylight, and the justice of your cause as the noon.
7 Rimani tranquillo davanti al Signore e spera in lui, non t'irritare per chi ha prospera la vita, per l'uomo che agisce con scaltrezza.	7 Stay quiet before Yahweh, wait longingly for him, do not get heated over someone who is making afortune, succeeding by devious means.
8 Trattieniti dall'ira e non cedere allo sdegno; non t'irritare: ti porterebbe al male.	8 Refrain from anger, leave rage aside, do not get heated -- it can do no good;
9 Poiché saranno stroncati i malvagi, mentre quanti sperano nel Signore erediteranno la terra.	9 for evil-doers will be annihilated, while those who hope in Yahweh shal have the land for their own.
10 Ancora un poco e l'empio non ci sarà più; ne cercherai il posto e non lo troverai.	10 A little while and the wicked wil be no more, however wel you search for the place, the wicked wilnot be there;
11 Ma i miseri erediteranno la terra e potranno godere della pace in abbondanza.	11 but the poor wil have the land for their own, to enjoy untroubled peace.
12 L'empio complotta contro il giusto, digrigna i denti contro di lui.	12 The wicked plots against the upright and gnashes his teeth at him,
13 Il Signore se ne ride, perché sa che verrà il suo giorno.	13 but Yahweh only laughs at his efforts, knowing that his end is in sight.
14 Gli empi sguainano la loro spada e tendono il loro arco, per colpire il misero e il povero, per uccidere quelli che camminano rettamente.	14 Though the wicked draw his sword and bend his bow to slaughter the honest and bring down thepoor and the needy,
15 La loro spada penetrerà nel loro cuore e i loro archi saranno spezzati.	15 his sword will pierce his own heart, and his bow wil be shattered.
16 E' preferibile il poco del giusto alle copiose ricchezze degli empi.	16 What little the upright possesses outweighs al the wealth of the wicked;
17 Poiché sono spezzate le braccia degli empi, mentre protettore dei giusti è il Signore.	17 for the weapons of the wicked shal be shattered, while Yahweh supports the upright.
18 Il Signore conosce i giorni degli uomini retti e la loro eredità durerà in eterno.	18 The lives of the just are in Yahweh's care, their birthright wil endure for ever;
19 Non arrossiranno in tempo di angustia, nei giorni di carestia potranno saziarsi.	19 they wil not be put to shame when bad times come, in time of famine they wil have plenty.
20 Sì, periranno gli empi, i nemici del Signore appassiranno. Essi passano come l'ornamento del prato, più presto del fumo essi svaniscono.	20 The wicked, enemies of Yahweh, wil be destroyed, they wil vanish like the green of the pasture, theywil vanish in smoke.
21 Prende in prestito l'empio e non restituisce, mentre il giusto è pietoso e dà.	21 The wicked borrows and wil not repay, but the upright is generous in giving;
22 Sì, quelli che da lui son benedetti erediteranno la terra; ma quelli che sono maledetti ne saranno esclusi.	22 those he blesses will have the land for their own, and those he curses be annihilated.
23 Dal Signore dipendono i passi dell'uomo, egli rafforza l'uomo la cui via gli è gradita.	23 Yahweh guides a strong man's steps and keeps them firm; and takes pleasure in him.
24 Se egli cade, non rimarrà prostrato, poiché il Signore sorregge la sua mano.	24 When he trips he is not thrown sprawling, since Yahweh supports him by the hand.
25 Sono stato ragazzo e ora sono vecchio; non ho mai visto un giusto abbandonato, né un suo discendente mendicare il pane.	25 Now I am old, but ever since my youth I never saw an upright person abandoned, or the descendantsof the upright forced to beg their bread.
26 Ogni giorno è pietoso e concede prestiti, e la sua discendenza sarà in benedizione.	26 The upright is always compassionate, always lending, so his descendants reap a blessing.
27 Discòstati dal male e fa' il bene, così sarà stabile la tua dimora per sempre.	27 Turn your back on evil and do good, you wil have a home for ever,
28 Poiché il Signore ama l'equità e non abbandona chi in lui si rifugia. Gli iniqui in eterno saranno puniti e sarà recisa la discendenza degli empi.	28 for Yahweh loves justice and wil not forsake his faithful. Evil-doers wil perish eternally, thedescendants of the wicked be annihilated,
29 I giusti erediteranno la terra e sarà la loro dimora per sempre.	29 but the upright shal have the land for their own, there they shal live for ever.
30 La bocca del giusto proferisce sapienza e parla la sua lingua secondo equità.	30 Wisdom comes from the lips of the upright, and his tongue speaks what is right;
31 La legge del suo Dio sta sempre nel suo cuore e i suoi passi non sono esitanti.	31 the law of his God is in his heart, his foot wil never slip.
32 Sta l'empio in agguato del giusto e cerca il modo di farlo morire.	32 The wicked keeps a close eye on the upright, looking out for a chance to kill him;
33 Ma in suo potere non lo lascia il Signore, né permette la sua condanna in giudizio.	33 Yahweh will never abandon him to the clutches of the wicked, nor let him be condemned if he is tried.
34 Spera nel Signore e custodisci la sua via, sarai capace di ereditare la terra, e assisterai con gioia all'esclusione degli empi.	34 Put your hope in Yahweh, keep to his path, he wil raise you up to make the land your own; you willook on while the wicked are annihilated.
35 Vidi l'empio esaltato, elevato come un cedro verdeggiante.	35 I have seen the wicked exultant, towering like a cedar of Lebanon.
36 Passai, ed ecco: non c'era più; feci ricerche: non si trovava.	36 When next I passed he was gone, I searched for him and he was nowhere to be found.
37 Custodisci l'integrità e segui la rettitudine, poiché c'è prosperità per l'uomo di pace.	37 Observe the innocent, consider the honest, for the lover of peace wil not lack children.
38 Tutti insieme saranno puniti i malfattori; stroncata sarà la posterità degli empi.	38 But the wicked wil al be destroyed together, and their children annihilated.
39 La salvezza dei giusti viene dal Signore, egli è loro scampo in tempo d'angustia.	39 The upright have Yahweh for their Saviour, their refuge in times of trouble;
40 Li protegge il Signore e li libera, li libera dagli empi e li salva, poiché in lui hanno cercato rifugio.	40 Yahweh helps them and rescues them, he wil rescue them from the wicked, and save them becausethey take refuge in him.
