1 In seguito Salomone costruì il suo palazzo portandolo a termine in tredici anni.	1 As regards his palace, Solomon spent thirteen years on it before the building was completed.
2 Costruì il palazzo della Foresta del Libano, lungo cento cubiti, largo cinquanta e alto trenta, a tre serie di colonne di cedro con capitelli di cedro sulle colonne.	2 He built the House of the Forest of Lebanon, a hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide, and thirty cubitshigh, on four rows of cedar-wood pil ars,

6 Fece pure il vestibolo delle colonne, lungo cinquanta cubiti e largo trenta, con un portico anteriore, a colonne coperte da una tettoia.	6 He also made the Colonnade, fifty cubits long and thirty cubits broad, with a cornice in front.
7 Eresse anche il vestibolo del trono dove amministrava la giustizia, detto perciò sala del giudizio; esso era ricoperto di cedro dal pavimento al soffitto.	7 He also made the Hal of the Throne where he used to dispense justice, that is, the Hal of Justice; it waspanel ed in cedar from floor to beams.
8 La sua abitazione privata, situata nell'altro cortile dietro il vestibolo, era costruita allo stesso modo; simile a questo vestibolo era anche la casa che egli costruì per la figlia del faraone da lui presa in sposa.	8 His own living quarters, in the other court and inwards from the Hal , were of the same construction. Andthere was a house similar to this Hal for Pharaoh's daughter whom he had taken in marriage.

12 Il cortile maggiore aveva intorno tre strati di pietre squadrate e uno strato di tavole di cedro, come il cortile interno del tempio del Signore e il vestibolo del palazzo.	12 and, on the outside, the great court had three courses of dressed stone round it and one course ofcedar beams; so also had the inner court of the Temple of Yahweh and the vestibule of the Temple.
13 Il re Salomone mandò a prendere Chiram di Tiro.	13 King Solomon sent for Hiram of Tyre;
14 Questi era figlio di una vedova della tribù di Neftali, però suo padre era di Tiro e lavorava il bronzo. Egli era dotato di abilità, di intelligenza e di perizia nell'eseguire qualsiasi lavoro in bronzo. Venuto presso il re Salomone, eseguì tutti i suoi lavori.	14 he was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, but his father had been a Tyrian, a bronzeworker.He was a highly intel igent craftsman, skil ed in al types of bronzework. He came to King Solomon and did althis work for him.
15 Fuse le due colonne di bronzo; l'altezza di una colonna era di diciotto cubiti, mentre una corda di dodici cubiti ne misurava la circonferenza; lo spessore del bronzo era di quattro dita mentre dentro era vuota; così era pure la seconda colonna.	15 He cast the two bronze pillars; the height of one pil ar was eighteen cubits, and a cord twelve cubitslong gave the measurement of its girth; so also was the second pil ar.
16 Fece anche due capitelli di bronzo fuso da porre in cima alle colonne, alti entrambi cinque cubiti.	16 He made two capitals of cast bronze for the tops of the pil ars; the height of one capital was five cubits,and the height of the other five cubits.
17 Fece poi due reti per rivestirne i capitelli che si trovavano in cima alle colonne, una rete per ciascun capitello.	17 He made two sets of filigree to cover the moulding of the two capitals surmounting the pil ars, onefiligree for one capital and one filigree for the other.
18 Fece anche intorno alla rete due file di melagrane per coprire il capitello che si trovava sopra le colonne; così fece pure per il secondo capitello.	18 He also made pomegranates: two rows of them round each filigree,four hundred in al ,
19 Sui capitelli che si trovavano in cima alle colonne v'era un manufatto in forma di loto; tutto questo nel complesso era alto quattro cubiti.	19 The capitals surrounding the pil ars were lily-shaped.
20 E v'erano capitelli sulle due colonne anche al di sopra, accanto alla sporgenza, che era al di là della rete. E le melagrane erano duecento, disposte in serie all'intorno, sopra il secondo capitello.	20 applied on the raised moulding behind the filigree; there were two hundred pomegranates round onecapital and the same round the other capital.
21 Innalzò le colonne davanti al vestibolo del tempio; innalzò la colonna di destra cui diede il nome Iachin e innalzò quella di sinistra che chiamò Boaz.	21 He erected the pil ars in front of the portico of the Temple, he erected the right-hand pil ar and named itJachin; he erected the left-hand pil ar and named it Boaz.
22 In cima alle colonne v'era un manufatto in forma di loto; così terminò il lavoro delle colonne.	22 Thus, the work on the pillars was completed.
23 Fece poi il mare in metallo fuso; da un orlo all'altro misurava dieci cubiti; tutt'intorno era circolare; la sua altezza era di cinque cubiti, mentre una cordicella di trenta cubiti ne misurava la circonferenza.	23 He made the Sea of cast metal, ten cubits from rim to rim, circular in shape and five cubits high; a cordthirty cubits long gave the measurement of its girth.
24 Sotto l'orlo v'era un ornato di rosoni, dieci ogni cubito, che formavano un giro intorno al mare; i rosoni erano in due ordini, fusi insieme al mare.	24 Under its rim and completely encircling it were gourds surrounding the Sea; over a length of thirtycubits the gourds were in two rows, of one and the same casting with the rest.
25 Questo aveva lo spessore di un palmo e l'orlo come quello di una coppa, a fior di loto. Conteneva duemila bat.	25 It rested on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, three facing east; onthese, their hindquarters al turned inwards, stood the Sea.
26 Poggiava su dodici buoi di cui tre guardavano a settentrione, tre ad occidente, tre a mezzogiorno e tre ad oriente. Il mare poggiava su di essi e le loro parti posteriori erano rivolte all'interno.	26 It was a hand's breadth in thickness, and its rim was shaped like the rim of a cup, lily-shaped. It couldhold two thousand measures.
27 Fece pure dieci basi di bronzo, lunghe quattro cubiti ognuna, larghe altrettanto e alte tre cubiti.	27 He made the ten bronze stands; each stand was four cubits long, four cubits wide, and three high.
28 Questa era la loro forma: avevano dei telai e dei pannelli fra i telai.	28 They were designed as fol ows; they had an undercarriage and crosspieces to the undercarriage.
29 Sui pannelli posti tra i telai erano scolpiti leoni, buoi e cherubini, e così pure sui telai; sopra e sotto i leoni e i buoi v'erano motivi a spirale.	29 On the crosspieces of the undercarriage were lions and bul s and winged creatures, and on top of theundercarriage was a support; under the lions and oxen there were scrolls in the style of. . .
30 Ogni base aveva quattro ruote di bronzo, con gli assi anch'essi di bronzo. I suoi quattro piedi avevano delle spallette sotto il bacino e le spallette erano state fuse nella parte interna con ogni motivo a spirale.	30 Each stand had four bronze wheels with bronze axles; its four feet had shoulderings under the basin,and the shoulderings were cast. . .
31 La sua apertura, all'interno della corona e sopra, era alta un cubito e mezzo, di forma rotonda, fatta come la conca e fornita di sculture; invece i suoi pannelli erano quadrati anziché rotondi.	31 Its mouth measured one and a half cubits from where the shoulderings met to the top; its mouth wasround like a stand for a vessel, and on the mouth there were engravings too; the crosspieces, however, wererectangular and not round.
32 Sotto i pannelli c'erano le quattro ruote con i loro assi uniti alla base; l'altezza di ogni ruota era di un cubito e mezzo.	32 The four wheels were under the crosspieces. The axles of the wheels were inside the stands; theheight of the wheels was one and a half cubits.
33 La forma era come quella delle ruote di un carro; gli assi, i quarti, i raggi e i mozzi erano tutti d'un pezzo.	33 The wheels were designed like chariot wheels: their axles, felloes, spokes and naves had al been cast.
34 Ai quattro angoli di ogni base v'erano quattro spallette che formavano un solo pezzo con la base.	34 There were four shoulderings at the four corners of each stand: the stand and the shoulderings were alof a piece.
35 In cima alla base v'era un supporto alto mezzo cubito, tutt'intorno rotondo; in cima alla base c'erano i suoi manichi e le sue spallette formavano un solo pezzo con essa.	35 At the top of the stand there was a support, circular in shape and half a cubit high; and on top of thestand there were lugs. The crosspieces were of a piece with the stand.
36 Scolpì sulle tavole cherubini, leoni e palme secondo lo spazio di ciascuna e, in più, motivi a spirale all'intorno.	36 On the bands he engraved winged creatures and lions and palm leaves. . . and scrol s right round.
37 In questo modo egli fece le dieci basi, con un'unica fusione, un'unica misura e un'unica forma per tutte.	37 He made the ten stands like this: the same casting and the same measurements for all.
38 Fece poi le dieci conche di bronzo, ognuna delle quali conteneva quaranta bat, misurava quattro cubiti e poggiava su una delle dieci basi.	38 He made ten bronze basins; each basin held forty measures and each basin measured four cubits, onebasin to each of the ten stands.
39 Collocò le basi, cinque al lato destro del tempio e cinque a quello sinistro; invece il mare lo pose al lato destro del tempio, rivolto verso sud-est.	39 He arranged the stands, five on the right-hand side of the Temple, five on the left-hand side of theTemple; the Sea he placed on the right-hand side of the Temple, to the south east.
40 Chiram fece anche i vasi per la cenere, le palette e le coppe. Così terminò ogni lavoro di cui il re Salomone lo aveva incaricato per il tempio del Signore:	40 Hiram made the ash containers, the scoops and the sprinkling bowls. He finished all the work that hedid for King Solomon on the Temple of Yahweh:

49 i candelabri in oro fino, cinque a destra e cinque a sinistra davanti alla cella; inoltre i fiori, le lampade e gli smoccolatoi d'oro;	49 the lamp-stands, five on the right and five on the left in front of the Debir, of pure gold; the floral work,the lamps, the tongs, of gold;
50 le patere, i coltelli, i vassoi, i mortai e gli incensieri d'oro fino. Anche i cardini per i battenti dell'aula erano d'oro.	50 the basins, the snuffers, the sprinkling bowls, the incense ladles and the pans, of real gold; the doorpanels -- for the inner shrine -- that is, the Holy of Holies -- and for the Hekal, of gold.
51 Terminati tutti i lavori che aveva fatto fare per il tempio del Signore, Salomone portò i sacri donativi di suo padre Davide, cioè l'argento, l'oro e i vasi, deponendoli fra i tesori del tempio del Signore.	51 Thus al the work done by King Solomon for the Temple of Yahweh was completed, and Solomonbrought in the gifts which his father David had consecrated; and he had the silver, the gold and the utensils putinto the treasuries of the Temple of Yahweh.
