1 In seguito Salomone costruì il suo palazzo portandolo a termine in tredici anni.	1 His own palace Solomon completed after thirteen years of construction.
2 Costruì il palazzo della Foresta del Libano, lungo cento cubiti, largo cinquanta e alto trenta, a tre serie di colonne di cedro con capitelli di cedro sulle colonne.	2 He built the hall called the Forest of Lebanon one hundred cubits long, fifty wide, and thirty high; it was supported by four rows of cedar columns, with cedar capitals upon the columns.
3 Pure di cedro era il soffitto delle camere che sovrastavano le colonne in numero di quarantacinque, quindici per fila.	3 Moreover, it had a ceiling of cedar above the beams resting on the columns; these beams numbered forty-five, fifteen to a row.

7 Eresse anche il vestibolo del trono dove amministrava la giustizia, detto perciò sala del giudizio; esso era ricoperto di cedro dal pavimento al soffitto.	7 He also built the vestibule of the throne where he gave judgment--that is, the tribunal; it was paneled with cedar from floor to ceiling beams.
8 La sua abitazione privata, situata nell'altro cortile dietro il vestibolo, era costruita allo stesso modo; simile a questo vestibolo era anche la casa che egli costruì per la figlia del faraone da lui presa in sposa.	8 His living quarters were in another court, set in deeper than the tribunal and of the same construction. A palace like this tribunal was built for Pharaoh's daughter, whom Solomon had married.
9 Tutte queste costruzioni erano di pietre scelte, squadrate a misura e tagliate con la sega di dentro e di fuori, dalle fondamenta fino ai cornicioni e dal di fuori fino al cortile maggiore.	9 All these buildings were of fine stones, hewn to size and trimmed front and back with a saw, from the foundation to the bonding course.
10 Anche le fondamenta erano di pietre scelte, pietre enormi, pietre di dieci e di otto cubiti.	10 (The foundation was made of fine, large blocks, some ten cubits and some eight cubits.

So also were the inner court of the temple of the LORD and the temple porch.
13 Il re Salomone mandò a prendere Chiram di Tiro.	13 King Solomon had Hiram brought from Tyre.
14 Questi era figlio di una vedova della tribù di Neftali, però suo padre era di Tiro e lavorava il bronzo. Egli era dotato di abilità, di intelligenza e di perizia nell'eseguire qualsiasi lavoro in bronzo. Venuto presso il re Salomone, eseguì tutti i suoi lavori.	14 He was a bronze worker, the son of a widow from the tribe of Naphtali; his father had been from Tyre. He was endowed with skill, understanding, and knowledge of how to produce any work in bronze. He came to King Solomon and did all his metal work.
15 Fuse le due colonne di bronzo; l'altezza di una colonna era di diciotto cubiti, mentre una corda di dodici cubiti ne misurava la circonferenza; lo spessore del bronzo era di quattro dita mentre dentro era vuota; così era pure la seconda colonna.	15 Two hollow bronze columns were cast, each eighteen cubits high and twelve cubits in circumference; their metal was of four fingers' thickness.
16 Fece anche due capitelli di bronzo fuso da porre in cima alle colonne, alti entrambi cinque cubiti.	16 There were also two capitals cast in bronze, to place on top of the columns, each of them five cubits high.
17 Fece poi due reti per rivestirne i capitelli che si trovavano in cima alle colonne, una rete per ciascun capitello.	17 Two pieces of network with a chainlike mesh were made to cover the (nodes of the) capitals on top of the columns, one for each capital.
18 Fece anche intorno alla rete due file di melagrane per coprire il capitello che si trovava sopra le colonne; così fece pure per il secondo capitello.	18 Four hundred pomegranates were also cast; two hundred of them in a double row encircled the piece of network on each of the two capitals.
19 Sui capitelli che si trovavano in cima alle colonne v'era un manufatto in forma di loto; tutto questo nel complesso era alto quattro cubiti.	19 The capitals on top of the columns were finished wholly in a lotus pattern
20 E v'erano capitelli sulle due colonne anche al di sopra, accanto alla sporgenza, che era al di là della rete. E le melagrane erano duecento, disposte in serie all'intorno, sopra il secondo capitello.	20 above the level of the nodes and their enveloping network.
21 Innalzò le colonne davanti al vestibolo del tempio; innalzò la colonna di destra cui diede il nome Iachin e innalzò quella di sinistra che chiamò Boaz.	21 The columns were then erected adjacent to the porch of the temple, one to the right, called Jachin, and the other to the left, called Boaz.
22 In cima alle colonne v'era un manufatto in forma di loto; così terminò il lavoro delle colonne.	22 Thus the work on the columns was completed.
23 Fece poi il mare in metallo fuso; da un orlo all'altro misurava dieci cubiti; tutt'intorno era circolare; la sua altezza era di cinque cubiti, mentre una cordicella di trenta cubiti ne misurava la circonferenza.	23 The sea was then cast; it was made with a circular rim, and measured ten cubits across, five in height, and thirty in circumference.
24 Sotto l'orlo v'era un ornato di rosoni, dieci ogni cubito, che formavano un giro intorno al mare; i rosoni erano in due ordini, fusi insieme al mare.	24 Under the brim, gourds encircled it, ten to the cubit all the way around; the gourds were in two rows and were cast in one mold with the sea.
25 Questo aveva lo spessore di un palmo e l'orlo come quello di una coppa, a fior di loto. Conteneva duemila bat.	25 This rested on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east, with their haunches all toward the center, where the sea was set upon them.
26 Poggiava su dodici buoi di cui tre guardavano a settentrione, tre ad occidente, tre a mezzogiorno e tre ad oriente. Il mare poggiava su di essi e le loro parti posteriori erano rivolte all'interno.	26 It was a handbreadth thick, and its brim resembled that of a cup, being lily-shaped. Its capacity was two thousand measures.
27 Fece pure dieci basi di bronzo, lunghe quattro cubiti ognuna, larghe altrettanto e alte tre cubiti.	27 Ten stands were also made of bronze, each four cubits long, four wide, and three high.
28 Questa era la loro forma: avevano dei telai e dei pannelli fra i telai.	28 When these stands were constructed, panels were set within the framework.
29 Sui pannelli posti tra i telai erano scolpiti leoni, buoi e cherubini, e così pure sui telai; sopra e sotto i leoni e i buoi v'erano motivi a spirale.	29 On the panels between the frames there were lions, oxen, and cherubim; and on the frames likewise, above and below the lions and oxen, there were wreaths in relief.
30 Ogni base aveva quattro ruote di bronzo, con gli assi anch'essi di bronzo. I suoi quattro piedi avevano delle spallette sotto il bacino e le spallette erano state fuse nella parte interna con ogni motivo a spirale.	30 Each stand had four bronze wheels and bronze axles.
31 La sua apertura, all'interno della corona e sopra, era alta un cubito e mezzo, di forma rotonda, fatta come la conca e fornita di sculture; invece i suoi pannelli erano quadrati anziché rotondi.	31 This was surmounted by a crown one cubit high within which was a rounded opening to provide a receptacle a cubit and a half in depth. There was carved work at the opening, on panels that were angular, not curved.
32 Sotto i pannelli c'erano le quattro ruote con i loro assi uniti alla base; l'altezza di ogni ruota era di un cubito e mezzo.	32 The four wheels were below the paneling, and the axletrees of the wheels and the stand were of one piece. Each wheel was a cubit and a half high.
33 La forma era come quella delle ruote di un carro; gli assi, i quarti, i raggi e i mozzi erano tutti d'un pezzo.	33 The wheels were constructed like chariot wheels; their axles, fellies, spokes, and hubs were all cast. The four legs of each stand had cast braces, which were under the basin; they had wreaths on each side.
34 Ai quattro angoli di ogni base v'erano quattro spallette che formavano un solo pezzo con la base.	34 These four braces, extending to the corners of each stand, were of one piece with the stand.
35 In cima alla base v'era un supporto alto mezzo cubito, tutt'intorno rotondo; in cima alla base c'erano i suoi manichi e le sue spallette formavano un solo pezzo con essa.	35 On top of the stand there was a raised collar half a cubit high, with supports and panels which were of one piece with the top of the stand.
36 Scolpì sulle tavole cherubini, leoni e palme secondo lo spazio di ciascuna e, in più, motivi a spirale all'intorno.	36 On the surfaces of the supports and on the panels, wherever there was a clear space, cherubim, lions, and palm trees were carved, as well as wreaths all around.
37 In questo modo egli fece le dieci basi, con un'unica fusione, un'unica misura e un'unica forma per tutte.	37 This was how the ten stands were made, all of the same casting, the same size, the same shape.
38 Fece poi le dieci conche di bronzo, ognuna delle quali conteneva quaranta bat, misurava quattro cubiti e poggiava su una delle dieci basi.	38 Ten bronze basins were then made, each four cubits in diameter with a capacity of forty measures, one basin for the top of each of the ten stands.
39 Collocò le basi, cinque al lato destro del tempio e cinque a quello sinistro; invece il mare lo pose al lato destro del tempio, rivolto verso sud-est.	39 The stands were placed, five on the south side of the temple and five on the north. The sea was placed off to the southeast from the south side of the temple.
40 Chiram fece anche i vasi per la cenere, le palette e le coppe. Così terminò ogni lavoro di cui il re Salomone lo aveva incaricato per il tempio del Signore:	40 When Hiram made the pots, shovels, and bowls, he therewith completed all his work for King Solomon in the temple of the LORD:
41 due colonne; le volute dei capitelli che stavano in cima alle due colonne; le due reti per coprire le due volute che stavano in cima alle colonne;	41 two columns, two nodes for the capitals on top of the columns, two pieces of network covering the nodes for the capitals on top of the columns,
42 le quattrocento melagrane per le due reti; i due ordini di melagrane per ciascuna rete destinati a coprire i due capitelli sferici in cima alle colonne;	42 four hundred pomegranates in double rows on both pieces of network that covered the two nodes of the capitals where they met the columns,
43 le dieci basi e le dieci conche per le basi;	43 ten stands, ten basins on the stands,
44 il mare unico e i dodici buoi che lo sostenevano;	44 one sea, twelve oxen supporting the sea,
45 i vasi per la cenere, le palette e le coppe. Tutte queste suppellettili, che Chiram aveva fatto al re Salomone per il tempio del Signore, erano di bronzo levigato.	45 pots, shovels, and bowls. All these articles which Hiram made for King Solomon in the temple of the LORD were of burnished bronze.
46 Egli le fuse in modelli di argilla nella regione del Giordano tra Succot e Zartan.	46 The king had them cast in the neighborhood of the Jordan, in the clayey ground between Succoth and Zarethan.
47 Salomone sistemò tutte queste suppellettili; a causa della loro grandissima quantità non si calcolò il peso del bronzo.	47 Solomon did not weigh all the articles because they were so numerous; the weight of the bronze, therefore, was not determined.
48 Salomone fece preparare tutte le suppellettili che erano nel tempio del Signore: l'altare d'oro, la mensa d'oro su cui si ponevano i pani della presentazione;	48 Solomon had all the articles made for the interior of the temple of the LORD: the golden altar; the golden table on which the showbread lay;
49 i candelabri in oro fino, cinque a destra e cinque a sinistra davanti alla cella; inoltre i fiori, le lampade e gli smoccolatoi d'oro;	49 the lampstands of pure gold, five to the right and five to the left before the sanctuary, with their flowers, lamps, and tongs of gold;
50 le patere, i coltelli, i vassoi, i mortai e gli incensieri d'oro fino. Anche i cardini per i battenti dell'aula erano d'oro.	50 basins, snuffers, bowls, cups, and fire pans of pure gold; and hinges of gold for the doors of the inner room, or holy of holies, and for the doors of the outer room, the nave.
51 Terminati tutti i lavori che aveva fatto fare per il tempio del Signore, Salomone portò i sacri donativi di suo padre Davide, cioè l'argento, l'oro e i vasi, deponendoli fra i tesori del tempio del Signore.	51 When all the work undertaken by King Solomon in the temple of the LORD was completed, he brought in the dedicated offerings of his father David, putting the silver, gold, and other articles in the treasuries of the temple of the LORD.
