1 - Gesù disse ancora a' suoi discepoli: «È impossibile che non succedano scandali; ma guai a colui per colpa del quale succedono!	1 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!
2 Sarebbe meglio per lui che gli fosse messa una macina da mulino al collo e fosse gettato in mare, piuttosto che scandalizzare uno di questi pargoli.	2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
3 Badate a voi stessi! Se tuo fratello ha commesso un fallo, riprendilo; e se si pente, perdonagli.	3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4 E se avrà peccato contro di te sette volte al giorno, e sette volte al giorno ritorna a te, dicendo: - Me ne pento, - tu perdonagli».	4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
5 Gli Apostoli dissero al Signore: «Accresci a noi la fede!».	5 And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.
6 Il Signore rispose: «Se voi aveste tanta fede quanto un granello di senapa, potreste dire a questa pianta di moro: - Sràdicati e tràpiantati in mare, - ed essa vi ubbidirebbe.	6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
7 Chi di voi, avendo un servo per arare o per condurre al pascolo l'armento, gli dice, quando ritorna dai campi: - Vien qua presto e mettiti a tavola -?	7 But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say unto him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?
8 Non gli dirà invece: - Preparami da cena e mettiti a servirmi, finchè io abbia mangiato e bevuto, e poi mangerai e berrai tu pure -?	8 And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?
9 Si terrà egli forse obbligato a quel servo, perchè ha fatto le cose che gli sono state comandate?	9 Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.
10 Io non lo penso. Così anche voi, quando avrete fatto tutto quello che vi è comandato, dite: -Siamo servi inutili, abbiamo fatto quanto dovevamo fare».	10 So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
11 Nell'andare a Gerusalemme, Gesù passava attraverso la Samaria e la Galilea,	11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
12 e mentre stava per entrare in un villaggio, gli vennero incontro dieci uomini lebbrosi, che, fermatisi a una certa distanza,	12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 esclamarono a voce alta: «Gesù, maestro, abbi pietà di noi!».	13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
14 Vedutili, disse loro: «Andate a mostrarvi ai sacerdoti». E mentre se ne andavano furon guariti.	14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
15 Un di loro, vedendo che era guarito, tornò indietro, glorificando Dio a voce alta,	15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
16 e prostratosi ai suoi piedi, lo ringraziò. E costui era un Samaritano.	16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
17 Allora Gesù prese a dire: «Non sono stati guariti tutt'e dieci? E dove sono gli altri nove?	17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
18 Non s'è trovato chi tornasse a rendere gloria a Dio, se non questo straniero?».	18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 E gli disse: «Alzati e va'; la tua fede ti ha salvato».	19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
20 Poi, interrogato dai Farisei quando verrebbe il regno di Dio, Gesù rispose loro: «Il regno di Dio non viene in modo da attirare gli sguardi.	20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Non si dirà: - Eccolo qui, o eccolo là -; perchè, ecco, il regno di Dio è dentro di voi».	21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
22 Disse ancora a' suoi discepoli: «Verrà tempo in cui desidererete di vedere uno solo dei giorni del Figliuol dell'uomo, e non lo vedrete.	22 And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.
23 E vi diranno: - Eccolo qua o eccolo là. - Non andate e non mettetevi a seguirli.	23 And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.
24 Come infatti il lampo, quando balena, sfolgora da un'estremità del cielo, così sarà del Figliuol dell'uomo nel suo giorno.	24 For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.
25 Ma prima è necessario ch'egli soffra molte cose e sia rigettato da questa generazione.	25 But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.
26 E come avvenne ai giorni di Noè, così avverrà pure ai giorni del Figliuol dell'uomo.	26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 Gli uomini allora mangiavano e bevevano, prendevan moglie e prendevan marito fino al giorno in cui Noè entrò nell'arca; e venne il diluvio e li fece perire tutti.	27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Così pure accadde ai giorni di Lot, si mangiava e si beveva; si comprava e si vendeva; si piantava e si edificava;	28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 ma nel giorno in cui Lot uscì di Sodoma cadde dal cielo una pioggia di fuoco e di zolfo che li fece morir tutti.	29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Lo stesso avverrà nel giorno in cui il Figliuol dell'uomo si manifesterà.	30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
31 In quel giorno chi sarà sulla terrazza della casa e avrà la sua roba in casa, non scenda a prenderla; parimenti chi sarà nel campo non torni indietro.	31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
32 Ricordatevi della moglie di Lot.	32 Remember Lot's wife.
33 Chi cercherà di salvar la sua vita, la perderà; ma chi la perderà, la custodirà.	33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
34 Io ve lo dico: In quella notte due saranno in un letto; l'uno sarà preso e l'altro lasciato.	34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
35 Due donne macineranno insieme: una sarà presa e l'altra lasciata; due uomini saranno nel campo, uno sarà preso e l'altro lasciato».	35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
36 I discepoli domandarono: «Dove, Signore?».	36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
37 Egli rispose: «Dove sarà il corpo, quivi si raduneranno le aquile».	37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.
