Amos 4

1 - Ascoltate questa parola, vacche grasse, che siete sul monte di Samaria, che opprimete a torto i deboli e calpestate i poveri; che dite ai vostri signori: - Portate e beviamo! -	1 Listen to this word, you fat cows that are on the mountain of Samaria, you who make false accusations against the destitute and crush the poor, who say to your nobles, “Bring, and we will drink.”
2 Lo ha giurato il Signore Dio per la sua santità: - Ecco, verranno per voi i giorni che vi solleveranno con aste, e i vostri avanzi con caldaie bollenti;	2 The Lord God has sworn in his holiness: behold, the days that will overcome you and that will impale you on poles, and that will place what remains of you in boiling pots.
3 e per le brecce uscirete l'una addosso all'altra, e sarete sospinte verso Armon, dice il Signore.	3 And you will go out through the breaches, one over another, and you will be cast out into Harmon, says the Lord.
4 Venite in Betel e commettete l'empietà, e a Galgala moltiplicate le prevaricazioni! Recate le vostre vittime alla mattina, nei tre giorni le vostre primizie;	4 Come to Bethel and behave impiously, to Gilgal and increase betrayals. And bring daybreak to your victims, your tithes in three days.
5 fate di pane fermentato il sacrifizio di lode, e le supererogazioni banditele e proclamatele, giacchè piacque così a voi, o figli d'Israele, dice il Signore Dio!	5 And offer a sacrifice of praise with leaven. And call for voluntary oblations, and announce it. For such is your will, sons of Israel, says the Lord God.
6 E anch'io v'ho dato da allegarvi i denti in tutte le vostre città, e carestia di pane per tutto nei vostri luoghi: e non siete tornati a me, dice il Signore.	6 Therefore, because of this, I have given you dull teeth in every one of your cities, and a lack of bread in all your places. And you have not been turned back towards me, says the Lord.
7 E anch'io ho fermato la pioggia, quando mancavano tre mesi alla mietitura; e sopra una città ho piovuto e sopra un'altra non ho piovuto; in una parte ha piovuto, e nella parte ove non ha piovuto vi fu la siccità.	7 Therefore, I have withheld the rains from you, when there were still three months left until the harvest. And I rained on one city, and I did not rain on another city; one part was rained on, and the part on which I did not rain, dried out.
8 E due e tre città trassero ad un'altra per avere acqua da bere, e non ne ebbero da dissetarsi; e voi non siete tornati a me, dice il Signore.	8 And two and three cities went to one city, in order to drink water, and they were not satisfied. And you did not return to me, says the Lord.
9 Vi ho colpito col vento secco, e colla ruggine l'agglomeramento dei vostri giardini e delle vostre vigne: e i vostri oliveti e le vostre ficaie se le sono divorate i bruchi, dice il Signore.	9 I struck you with a burning wind and with yellowing; the caterpillar has consumed your many gardens and your vineyards, your olive groves and your fig groves. And you did not return to me, says the Lord.
10 Vi ho mandato la mortalità sulla via di Egitto; ho fatto perire di spada i vostri giovani e catturare perfino i vostri cavalli, e ho fatto sollevare tale fetore dai vostri accampamenti, da ammorbare le vostre stesse narici; e non siete tornati a me, dice il Signore.	10 I sent death to you by way of Egypt; I struck your youths with the sword, even bringing captivity to your horses. And I made the stench of your camp ascend into your nostrils. And you did not return to me, says the Lord.
11 Vi ho sconvolti come ha sconvolto Iddio Sodoma e Gomorra, e vi siete ridotti, come un tizzo sottratto all'incendio: e non siete tornati a me, dice il Signore.	11 I overturned you, just as God overturned Sodom and Gomorrah, and you became like an ember seized from the fire. And you did not return to me, says the Lord.
12 E perciò, o Israele, ti farò ancor questo: e poi che ti avrò fatto questo, preparati all'incontro del tuo Dio, o Israele.	12 Because of this, I will do these things to you, Israel. But after I have done these things to you, Israel, be prepared to meet your God.
13 Perchè eccolo: Colui che plasma i monti e crea il vento; che svela all'uomo il suo ragionamento; che forma la nebbia mattutina, e che cammina sulle sommità della terra; il suo nome è Signore Dio degli eserciti. -	13 For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind and announces his speech to man, who makes the morning mist and steps over the heights of the earth: the Lord God of hosts is his name.
