Isaia 64

BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - O se tu squarciassi i cieli e scendessi! Al tuo cospetto si squaglierebbero i monti;	1 as fire sets brushwood alight, as fire makes water boil -- to make your name known to your foes; thenations would tremble at your presence,
2 come in una fiammata di fuoco si consumerebbero; ribollirebbero le acque; affinchè fosse noto ai tuoi nemici il tuo nome e al tuo cospetto tremassero le genti!	2 at the unexpected miracles you would do. (Oh, that you would come down, in your presence themountains would quake!)
3 Quando tu avessi operato portenti a cui non potessimo reggere; fosti disceso e i monti si fossero liquefatti;	3 Never has anyone heard, no ear has heard, no eye has seen any god but you act like this for the sakeof those who trust him.
4 non per questo al mondo si potrà udire, nè intendere colle orecchie: occhio non vide eccetto te, o Dio, quello che tu hai preparato per coloro che ti aspettano.	4 You come to meet those who are happy to act uprightly; keeping your ways reminds them of you. Yes,you have been angry and we have been sinners; now we persist in your ways and we shal be saved.
5 Tu sei andato incontro a chi ti faceva buon viso, e a chi praticava la tua giustizia; nelle tue vie si ricorderanno di te. Ecco che ti sei sdegnato: noi abbiamo peccato, siamo sempre negli stessi peccati; ma saremo salvati.	5 We have al been like unclean things and our upright deeds like filthy rags. We wither, al of us, likeleaves, and al our misdeeds carry us off like the wind.
6 Tutti siamo diventati come persone contaminate, tutta la nostra giustizia è come panno da mestrui; siamo tutti caduti come la foglia e le nostre iniquità come il vento ci travolsero.	6 There is no one to invoke your name, to rouse himself to hold fast to you, for you have hidden your facefrom us and given us up to the power of our misdeeds.
7 Non c'è nessuno che invochi il tuo nome, che si risvegli e si stringa a te; hai nascosta a noi la tua faccia e ci hai schiacciati sotto la nostra iniquità.	7 And yet, Yahweh, you are our Father; we the clay and you our potter, al of us are the work of yourhands.
8 Ed ora, o Signore, tu sei il nostro padre e noi un impasto di creta; sei tu che ci hai impastati, e noi siamo tutti opera delle tue mani.	8 Yahweh, do not let your anger go too far and do not remember guilt for ever. Look, please, we are alyour people;
9 Non adirarti, o Signore, di più: non voler più oltre rammentare la nostra iniquità; ecco, guardaci, siamo tutti tuo popolo.	9 your holy cities have become a desert, Zion has become a desert, Jerusalem a wasteland.
10 La città del tuo santuario è diventata deserta, deserta Sion, Gerusalemme abbandonata.	10 Our holy and glorious Temple, in which our ancestors used to praise you, has been burnt to theground; al our delight lies in ruins.
11 La casa che era il nostro santuario e la nostra gloria, dove i nostri padri ti avevano lodato, è stata arsa dal fuoco, e tutte le nostre cose più care sono andate in rovina.	11 Yahweh, can you restrain yourself at al this? Wil you stay silent and afflict us beyond endurance?
12 In faccia a questo spettacolo potrai, o Signore, contenerti? tacerai e seguiterai ad affligerci oltre misura?
