1 “Amen, amen, I say to you, he who does not enter through the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up by another way, he is a thief and a robber.	1 «En verdad, en verdad os digo: el que no entra por la puerta en el redil de las ovejas, sino que escala por otro lado, ése es un ladrón y un salteador;
2 But he who enters through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.	2 pero el que entra por la puerta es pastor de las ovejas.
3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name, and he leads them out.	3 A éste le abre el portero, y las ovejas escuchan su voz; y a sus ovejas las llama una por una y las saca fuera.
4 And when he has sent out his sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice.	4 Cuando ha sacado todas las suyas, va delante de ellas, y las ovejas le siguen, porque conocen su voz.
5 But they do not follow a stranger; instead they flee from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”	5 Pero no seguirán a un extraño, sino que huirán de él, porque no conocen la voz de los extraños».
6 Jesus spoke this proverb to them. But they did not understand what he was saying to them.	6 Jesús les dijo esta parábola, pero ellos no comprendieron lo que les hablaba.
7 Therefore, Jesus spoke to them again: “Amen, amen, I say to you, that I am the door of the sheep.	7 Entonces Jesús les dijo de nuevo: «En verdad, en verdad os digo: yo soy la puerta de las ovejas.
8 All others, as many as have come, are thieves and robbers, and the sheep did not listen to them.	8 Todos los que han venido delante de mí son ladrones y salteadores; pero las ovejas no les escucharon.
9 I am the door. If anyone has entered through me, he will be saved. And he shall go in and go out, and he shall find pastures.	9 Yo soy la puerta; si uno entra por mí, estará a salvo; entrará y saldrá y encontrará pasto.
10 The thief does not come, except so that he may steal and slaughter and destroy. I have come so that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.	10 El ladrón no viene más que a robar, matar y destruir. Yo he venido para que tengan vida y la tengan en abundancia.
11 I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd gives his life for his sheep.	11 Yo soy el buen pastor. El buen pastor da su vida por las ovejas.
12 But the hired hand, and whoever is not a shepherd, to whom the sheep do not belong, he sees the wolf approaching, and he departs from the sheep and flees. And the wolf ravages and scatters the sheep.	12 Pero el asalariado, que no es pastor, a quien no pertenecen las ovejas, ve venir al lobo, abandona las ovejas y huye, y el lobo hace presa en ellas y las dispersa,
13 And the hired hand flees, because he is a hired hand and there is no concern for the sheep within him.	13 porque es asalariado y no le importan nada las ovejas.
14 I am the good Shepherd, and I know my own, and my own know me,	14 Yo soy el buen pastor; y conozco mis ovejas y las mías me conocen a mí,
15 just as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. And I lay down my life for my sheep.	15 como me conoce el Padre y yo conozco a mi Padre y doy mi vida por las ovejas.
16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold, and I must lead them. They shall hear my voice, and there shall be one sheepfold and one shepherd.	16 También tengo otras ovejas, que no son de este redil; también a ésas las tengo que conducir y escucharán mi voz; y habrá un solo rebaño, un solo pastor.
17 For this reason, the Father loves me: because I lay down my life, so that I may take it up again.	17 Por eso me ama el Padre, porque doy mi vida, para recobrarla de nuevo.
18 No one takes it away from me. Instead, I lay it down of my own accord. And I have the power to lay it down. And I have the power to take it up again. This is the commandment that I have received from my Father.”	18 Nadie me la quita; yo la doy voluntariamente. Tengo poder para darla y poder para recobrarla de nuevo; esa es la orden que he recibido de mi Padre».
19 A dissension occurred again among the Jews because of these words.	19 Se produjo otra vez una disensión entre los judíos por estas palabras.
20 Then many of them were saying: “He has a demon or he is insane. Why do you listen him?”	20 Muchos de ellos decían: «Tiene un demonio y está loco. ¿Por qué le escucháis?»
21 Others were saying: “These are not the words of someone who has a demon. How would a demon be able to open the eyes of the blind?”	21 Pero otros decían: «Esas palabras no son de un endemoniado. ¿Puede acaso un demonio abrir los ojos de los ciegos?»
22 Now it was the Feast of the Dedication at Jerusalem, and it was winter.	22 Se celebró por entonces en Jerusalén la fiesta de la Dedicación. Era invierno.
23 And Jesus was walking in the temple, in the portico of Solomon.	23 Jesús se paseaba por el Templo, en el pórtico de Salomón.
24 And so the Jews surrounded him and said to him: “How long will you hold our souls in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly.”	24 Le rodearon los judíos, y le decían: «¿Hasta cuándo vas tenernos en vilo? Si tú eres el Cristo, dínoslo abiertamente».
25 Jesus answered them: “I speak to you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in the name of my Father, these offer testimony about me.	25 Jesús les respondió: «Ya os lo he dicho, pero no me creéis. Las obras que hago en nombre de mi Padre son las que dan testimonio de mí;
26 But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep.	26 pero vosotros no creéis porque no sois de mis ovejas.
27 My sheep hear my voice. And I know them, and they follow me.	27 Mis ovejas escuchan mi voz; yo las conozco y ellas mi siguen.
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall not perish, for eternity. And no one shall seize them from my hand.	28 Yo les doy vida eterna y no perecerán jamás, y nadie las arrebatará de mi mano.
29 What my Father gave to me is greater than all, and no one is able to seize from the hand of my Father.	29 El Padre, que me las ha dado, es más grande que todos, y nadie puede arrebatar nada de la mano del Padre.
30 I and the Father are one.”	30 Yo y el Padre somos uno».
31 Therefore, the Jews took up stones, in order to stone him.	31 Los judíos trajeron otra vez piedras para apedrearle.
32 Jesus answered them: “I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of those works do you stone me?”	32 Jesús les dijo: «Muchas obras buenas que vienen del Padre os he mostrado. ¿Por cuál de esas obras queréis apedrearme?»
33 The Jews answered him: “We do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy and because, though you are a man, you make yourself God.”	33 Le respondieron los judíos: «No queremos apedrearte por ninguna obra buena, sino por una blasfemia y porque tú, siendo hombre, te haces a ti mismo Dios».
34 Jesus responded to them: “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said: you are gods?’	34 Jesús les respondió: «¿No está escrito en vuestra Ley: Yo he dicho: dioses sois?
35 If he called those to whom the word of God was given gods, and Scripture cannot be broken,	35 Si llama dioses a aquellos a quienes se dirigió la Palabra de Dios - y no puede fallar la Escritura -
36 why do you say, about him whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You have blasphemed,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’	36 a aquel a quien el Padre ha santificado y enviado al mundo, ¿cómo le decís que blasfema por haber dicho: “Yo soy Hijo de Dios”?
37 If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe in me.	37 Si no hago las obras de mi Padre, no me creáis;
38 But if I do them, even if you are not willing to believe in me, believe the works, so that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”	38 pero si las hago, aunque a mí no me creáis, creed por las obras, y así sabréis y conoceréis que el Padre está en mí y yo en el Padre».
39 Therefore, they sought to apprehend him, but he escaped from their hands.	39 Querían de nuevo prenderle, pero se les escapó de las manos.
40 And he went again across the Jordan, to that place where John first was baptizing. And he lodged there.	40 Se marchó de nuevo al otro lado del Jordán, al lugar donde Juan había estado antes bautizando, y se quedó allí.
41 And many went out to him. And they were saying: “Indeed, John accomplished no signs.	41 Muchos fueron donde él y decían: «Juan no realizó ninguna señal, pero todo lo que dijo Juan de éste, era verdad».
42 But all things whatsoever that John said about this man were true.” And many believed in him.	42 Y muchos allí creyeron en él.
