1 The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.	1 [Probleme mit Schrift-Anzeige?] Anfang des Evangeliums von Jesus Christus, dem Sohn Gottes:
2 As it has been written by the prophet Isaiah: “Behold, I send my Angel before your face, who shall prepare your way before you.	2 Es begann, wie es bei dem Propheten Jesaja steht: Ich sende meinen Boten vor dir her; er soll den Weg für dich bahnen.
3 The voice of one crying out in the desert: Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight his paths.”	3 Eine Stimme ruft in der Wüste: Bereitet dem Herrn den Weg! Ebnet ihm die Straßen!
4 John was in the desert, baptizing and preaching a baptism of repentance, as a remission of sins.	4 So trat Johannes der Täufer in der Wüste auf und verkündigte Umkehr und Taufe zur Vergebung der Sünden.
5 And there went out to him all the region of Judea and all those of Jerusalem, and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.	5 Ganz Judäa und alle Einwohner Jerusalems zogen zu ihm hinaus; sie bekannten ihre Sünden und ließen sich im Jordan von ihm taufen.
6 And John was clothed with camel’s hair and with a leather belt around his waist. And he ate locusts and wild honey.	6 Johannes trug ein Gewand aus Kamelhaaren und einen ledernen Gürtel um seine Hüften und er lebte von Heuschrecken und wildem Honig.
7 And he preached, saying: “A stronger one comes after me. I am not worthy to reach down and loosen the laces of his shoes.	7 Er verkündete: Nach mir kommt einer, der ist stärker als ich; ich bin es nicht wert, mich zu bücken, um ihm die Schuhe aufzuschnüren.
8 I have baptized you with water. Yet truly, he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”	8 Ich habe euch nur mit Wasser getauft, er aber wird euch mit dem Heiligen Geist taufen.
9 And it happened that, in those days, Jesus arrived from Nazareth of Galilee. And he was baptized by John in the Jordan.	9 In jenen Tagen kam Jesus aus Nazaret in Galiläa und ließ sich von Johannes im Jordan taufen.
10 And immediately, upon ascending from the water, he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit, like a dove, descending, and remaining with him.	10 Und als er aus dem Wasser stieg, sah er, dass der Himmel sich öffnete und der Geist wie eine Taube auf ihn herabkam.
11 And there was a voice from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; in you I am well pleased.”	11 Und eine Stimme aus dem Himmel sprach: Du bist mein geliebter Sohn, an dir habe ich Gefallen gefunden.
12 And immediately the Spirit prompted him into the desert.	12 Danach trieb der Geist Jesus in die Wüste.
13 And he was in the desert for forty days and forty nights. And he was tempted by Satan. And he was with the wild animals, and the Angels ministered to him.	13 Dort blieb Jesus vierzig Tage lang und wurde vom Satan in Versuchung geführt. Er lebte bei den wilden Tieren und die Engel dienten ihm.
14 Then, after John was handed over, Jesus went into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God,	14 Nachdem man Johannes ins Gefängnis geworfen hatte, ging Jesus wieder nach Galiläa; er verkündete das Evangelium Gottes
15 and saying: “For the time has been fulfilled and the kingdom of God has drawn near. Repent and believe in the Gospel.”	15 und sprach: Die Zeit ist erfüllt, das Reich Gottes ist nahe. Kehrt um, und glaubt an das Evangelium!
16 And passing by the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew, casting nets into the sea, for they were fishermen.	16 Als Jesus am See von Galiläa entlangging, sah er Simon und Andreas, den Bruder des Simon, die auf dem See ihr Netz auswarfen; sie waren nämlich Fischer.
17 And Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”	17 Da sagte er zu ihnen: Kommt her, folgt mir nach! Ich werde euch zu Menschenfischern machen.
18 And at once abandoning their nets, they followed him.	18 Sogleich ließen sie ihre Netze liegen und folgten ihm.
19 And continuing on a little ways from there, he saw James of Zebedee and his brother John, and they were mending their nets in a boat.	19 Als er ein Stück weiterging, sah er Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und seinen Bruder Johannes; sie waren im Boot und richteten ihre Netze her.
20 And immediately he called them. And leaving behind their father Zebedee in the boat with his hired hands, they followed him.	20 Sofort rief er sie und sie ließen ihren Vater Zebedäus mit seinen Tagelöhnern im Boot zurück und folgten Jesus nach.
21 And they entered into Capernaum. And entering into the synagogue promptly on the Sabbaths, he taught them.	21 Sie kamen nach Kafarnaum. Am folgenden Sabbat ging er in die Synagoge und lehrte.
22 And they were astonished over his doctrine. For he was teaching them as one who has authority, and not like the scribes.	22 Und die Menschen waren sehr betroffen von seiner Lehre; denn er lehrte sie wie einer, der (göttliche) Vollmacht hat, nicht wie die Schriftgelehrten.
23 And in their synagogue, there was a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,	23 In ihrer Synagoge saß ein Mann, der von einem unreinen Geist besessen war. Der begann zu schreien:
24 saying: “What are we to you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God.”	24 Was haben wir mit dir zu tun, Jesus von Nazaret? Bist du gekommen, um uns ins Verderben zu stürzen? Ich weiß, wer du bist: der Heilige Gottes.
25 And Jesus admonished him, saying, “Be silent, and depart from the man.”	25 Da befahl ihm Jesus: Schweig und verlass ihn!
26 And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, departed from him.	26 Der unreine Geist zerrte den Mann hin und her und verließ ihn mit lautem Geschrei.
27 And they were all so amazed that they inquired among themselves, saying: “What is this? And what is this new doctrine? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”	27 Da erschraken alle und einer fragte den andern: Was hat das zu bedeuten? Hier wird mit Vollmacht eine ganz neue Lehre verkündet. Sogar die unreinen Geister gehorchen seinem Befehl.
28 And his fame went out quickly, throughout the entire region of Galilee.	28 Und sein Ruf verbreitete sich rasch im ganzen Gebiet von Galiläa.
29 And soon after departing from the synagogue, they went into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.	29 Sie verließen die Synagoge und gingen zusammen mit Jakobus und Johannes gleich in das Haus des Simon und Andreas.
30 But the mother-in-law of Simon lay ill with a fever. And at once they told him about her.	30 Die Schwiegermutter des Simon lag mit Fieber im Bett. Sie sprachen mit Jesus über sie,
31 And drawing near to her, he raised her up, taking her by the hand. And immediately the fever left her, and she ministered to them.	31 und er ging zu ihr, fasste sie an der Hand und richtete sie auf. Da wich das Fieber von ihr und sie sorgte für sie.
32 Then, when evening arrived, after the sun had set, they brought to him all who had maladies and those who had demons.	32 Am Abend, als die Sonne untergegangen war, brachte man alle Kranken und Besessenen zu Jesus.
33 And the entire city was gathered together at the door.	33 Die ganze Stadt war vor der Haustür versammelt,
34 And he healed many who were troubled with various illnesses. And he cast out many demons, but he would not permit them to speak, because they knew him.	34 und er heilte viele, die an allen möglichen Krankheiten litten, und trieb viele Dämonen aus. Und er verbot den Dämonen zu reden; denn sie wussten, wer er war.
35 And rising up very early, departing, he went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.	35 In aller Frühe, als es noch dunkel war, stand er auf und ging an einen einsamen Ort, um zu beten.
36 And Simon, and those who were with him, followed after him.	36 Simon und seine Begleiter eilten ihm nach,
37 And when they had found him, they said to him, “For everyone is seeking you.”	37 und als sie ihn fanden, sagten sie zu ihm: Alle suchen dich.
38 And he said to them: “Let us go into the neighboring towns and cities, so that I may preach there also. Indeed, it was for this reason that I came.”	38 Er antwortete: Lasst uns anderswohin gehen, in die benachbarten Dörfer, damit ich auch dort predige; denn dazu bin ich gekommen.
39 And he was preaching in their synagogues and throughout all of Galilee, and casting out demons.	39 Und er zog durch ganz Galiläa, predigte in den Synagogen und trieb die Dämonen aus.
40 And a leper came to him, begging him. And kneeling down, he said to him, “If you are willing, you are able to cleanse me.”	40 Ein Aussätziger kam zu Jesus und bat ihn um Hilfe; er fiel vor ihm auf die Knie und sagte: Wenn du willst, kannst du machen, dass ich rein werde.
41 Then Jesus, taking pity on him, reached out his hand. And touching him, he said to him: “I am willing. Be cleansed.”	41 Jesus hatte Mitleid mit ihm; er streckte die Hand aus, berührte ihn und sagte: Ich will es - werde rein!
42 And after he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.	42 Im gleichen Augenblick verschwand der Aussatz und der Mann war rein.
43 And he admonished him, and he promptly sent him away.	43 Jesus schickte ihn weg und schärfte ihm ein:
44 And he said to him: “See to it that you tell no one. But go and show yourself to the high priest, and offer for your cleansing that which Moses instructed, as a testimony for them.”	44 Nimm dich in Acht! Erzähl niemand etwas davon, sondern geh, zeig dich dem Priester und bring das Reinigungsopfer dar, das Mose angeordnet hat. Das soll für sie ein Beweis (meiner Gesetzestreue) sein.
45 But having departed, he began to preach and to disseminate the word, so that he was no longer able to openly enter a city, but had to remain outside, in deserted places. And they were gathered to him from every direction.	45 Der Mann aber ging weg und erzählte bei jeder Gelegenheit, was geschehen war; er verbreitete die ganze Geschichte, sodass sich Jesus in keiner Stadt mehr zeigen konnte; er hielt sich nur noch außerhalb der Städte an einsamen Orten auf. Dennoch kamen die Leute von überallher zu ihm.
