And I lifted up my eyes, and I saw, and behold, a man, and in his hand was a measuring line.1 And I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold a man, with a measuring line in his hand.
And I said, “Where are you going?” And he said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, so that I may see how great its width and how great its length may be.”2 And I said: Whither goest thou? and he said to me: To measure Jerusalem, and to see how great is the breadth thereof, and how great the length thereof.
And behold, the angel, who had been speaking with me, departed, and another angel went out to meet him.3 And behold the angel that spoke in me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him.
And he said to him: Hurry, speak to this young man, saying: Jerusalem will be inhabited without walls, because of the multitude of men and beasts of burden in its midst.4 And he said to him: Run, speak to this young man, saying: Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls, by reason of the multitude of men, and of the beasts in the midst thereof.
And I will be to it, says the Lord, a wall of fire all around. And in glory, I will be in its midst.5 And I will be to it, saith the Lord, a wall of fire round about: and I will be in glory in the midst thereof.
O, O flee from the land of the North, says the Lord, for I have scattered you into the four winds of heaven, says the Lord.6 O, O flee ye out of the land of the north, saith the Lord, for I have scattered you into the four winds of heaven, saith the Lord.
O Zion, flee, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.7 O Sion, flee, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon:
For thus says the Lord of hosts: After the glory, he has sent me to the Gentiles, which have despoiled you. For he who touches you, touches the pupil of my eye.8 For thus saith the Lord of hosts: After the glory he hath sent me to the nations that have robbed you: for he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of my eye:
For behold, I lift up my hand over them, and they will be a prey to those who had served them. And you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me.9 For behold I lift up my hand upon them, and they shall be a prey to those that served them: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts sent me.
Sing praise and rejoice, daughter of Zion. For behold, I approach, and I will dwell in your midst, says the Lord.10 Sing praise, and rejoice, O daughter of Sion: for behold I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee: saith the Lord.
And many nations will be joined to the Lord in that day, and they will be my people, and I will dwell in your midst. And you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent me to you.11 And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and they shall be my people, and I will dwell in the midst of thee: and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to thee.
And the Lord will possess his portion, Judah, in the sanctified land, and still he will single out Jerusalem.12 And the Lord shall possess Juda his portion in the sanctified land: and he shall yet choose Jerusalem.
Let all flesh be silent before the face of the Lord: for he has arisen from his holy dwelling place.13 Let all flesh be silent at the presence of the Lord: for he is risen up out of his .holy habitation.
