1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the covenant, on the first day of the second month, in the year after their departure from Egypt, saying:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse, au désert du Sinaï, dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, le premier jour du second mois, ladeuxième année après la sortie du pays d'Egypte. Il dit:
2 “Take a total of the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families and houses, and the names of each one, of whomever is of the male sex,	2 "Faites le recensement de toute la communauté des Israélites, par clans et par familles, encomptant les noms de tous les mâles, tête par tête.
3 from twenty years and above, of all the able-bodied men out of Israel, and you shall number them by their companies, you and Aaron.	3 Tous ceux d'Israël qui ont vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne, vous les enregistrerez,toi et Aaron, selon leurs formations au combat.
4 And there shall be with you the leaders of the tribes, as well as of the houses, in their kinships,	4 Il vous sera adjoint un homme par tribu, un chef de famille.
5 the names of whom are these: of Ruben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;	5 "Voici les noms de ceux qui vous assisteront: Pour Ruben, Eliçur, fils de Shedéur.
6 of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;	6 Pour Siméon, Shelumiel, fils de Curishaddaï.
7 of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;	7 Pour Juda, Nahshôn, fils d'Amminadab.
8 of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Zuar;	8 Pour Issachar, Netanéel, fils de Cuar.
9 of Zebulon, Eliab the son of Helon.	9 Pour Zabulon, Eliab, fils de Hélôn.
10 And from the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;	10 Pour les fils de Joseph: pour Ephraïm, Elishama, fils d'Ammihud; pour Manassé, Gamliel, fils dePedahçur.
11 of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;	11 Pour Benjamin, Abidân, fils de Gidéoni.
12 of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;	12 Pour Dan, Ahiézer, fils d'Ammishaddaï.
13 of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;	13 Pour Asher, Pagiel, fils d'Okrân.
14 of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel;	14 Pour Gad, Elyasaph, fils de Réuel.
15 of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”	15 Pour Nephtali, Ahira, fils d'Enân."
16 These are the very noble leaders of the multitude, by their tribes and kinships, and the heads of the army of Israel.	16 C'étaient des hommes considérés dans la communauté; ils étaient princes de la tribu de leurancêtre; ils étaient à la tête des milliers d'Israël.
17 Moses and Aaron took these, with all the multitude of the common people,	17 Moïse et Aaron prirent ces hommes qui avaient été désignés par leur nom
18 and they gathered them together on the first day of the second month, taking a census of them by kinships, and houses, and families, and heads, and the names of each one from twenty years and above,	18 et rassemblèrent toute la communauté, le premier jour du second mois. Les Israélitesdéterminèrent leurs parentés, par clans et par familles, et l'on relevait les noms des hommes de vingt ans et au-dessus, tête par tête.
19 just as the Lord had instructed Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.	19 Comme Yahvé le lui avait ordonné, Moïse les enregistra dans le désert du Sinaï.
20 Of Ruben, the firstborn of Israel, by their generations and families and houses, and the names of each head, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,	20 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils de Ruben, premier-né d'Israël, par clans et parfamilles, on releva, tête par tête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
21 there were forty-six thousand five hundred.	21 On en recensa 46.500 pour la tribu de Ruben.
22 Of the sons of Simeon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names and heads of each one, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,	22 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils de Siméon, par clans et par familles, on releva, têtepar tête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
23 there were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.	23 On en recensa 59.300 pour la tribu de Siméon.
24 Of the sons of Gad, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,	24 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils de Gad, par clans et par familles, on releva, tête partête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
25 there were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.	25 On en recensa 45.650 pour la tribu de Gad.
26 Of the sons of Judah, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	26 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils de Juda, par clans et par familles, on releva, tête partête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
27 there were counted seventy-four thousand six hundred.	27 On en recensa 74.600 pour la tribu de Juda.
28 Of the sons of Issachar, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,	28 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils d'Issachar, par clans et par familles, on releva, têtepar tête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
29 there were counted fifty-four thousand four hundred.	29 On en recensa 54.400 pour la tribu d'Issachar.
30 Of the sons of Zebulon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	30 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils de Zabulon, par clans et par familles, on releva, têtepar tête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
31 there were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.	31 On en recensa 57.400 pour la tribu de Zabulon.
32 From the sons of Joseph, of the sons of Ephraim, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	32 Fils de Joseph: Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils d'Ephraïm, par clans et par familles,on releva, tête par tête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
33 there were forty thousand five hundred.	33 On en recensa 40.500 pour la tribu d'Ephraïm.
34 Furthermore, of the sons of Manasseh, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	34 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils de Manassé, par clans et par familles, on releva, têtepar tête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
35 there were thirty-two thousand two hundred.	35 On en recensa 32.200 pour la tribu de Manassé.
36 Of the sons of Benjamin, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	36 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils de Benjamin, par clans et par familles, on releva,tête par tête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
37 there were thirty-five thousand four hundred.	37 On en recensa 35.400 pour la tribu de Benjamin.
38 Of the sons of Dan, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	38 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils de Dan, par clans et par familles, on releva, tête partête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
39 there were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.	39 On en recensa 62.700 pour la tribu de Dan.
40 Of the sons of Asher, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	40 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils d'Asher, par clans et par familles, on releva, tête partête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
41 there were forty thousand and one thousand five hundred.	41 On en recensa 41.500 pour la tribu d'Asher.
42 Of the sons of Naphtali, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,	42 Quand on eut déterminé les parentés des fils de Nephtali, par clans et par familles, on releva, têtepar tête, les noms de tous les mâles de vingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne.
43 there were fifty-three thousand four hundred.	43 On en recensa 53.400 pour la tribu de Nephtali.
44 These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one by the houses of their kinships.	44 Tels furent ceux que recensèrent Moïse, Aaron et les princes d'Israël, au nombre de douze, unpour chacune de leurs familles.
45 And the entire number of the sons of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years and above, who were able to go forth to war, were	45 Tous les Israélites de vingt ans et au-dessus, tous ceux d'Israël qui étaient aptes à faire campagne,furent recensés par familles.
46 six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.	46 Le total des recensés fut de 603.550.
47 But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.	47 Mais on ne recensa pas avec eux les Lévites, ni leur tribu patriarcale.
48 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	48 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:
49 “Do not number the tribe of Levi, neither shall you take a total of them with the sons of Israel.	49 "N'enregistre pas cependant la tribu de Lévi, et ne la recense pas au milieu des Israélites.
50 But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all its vessels, and whatever pertains to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles. And they shall be for the ministry, and they shall encamp all around the tabernacle.	50 Mais inscris toi-même les Lévites pour le service de la Demeure du Témoignage, de tout sonmobilier et de tout ce qui lui appartient. Ce sont eux qui porteront la Demeure et tout son mobilier, ils en aurontle ministère et camperont alentour.
51 When you would depart, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle. When you are to make camp, they shall set it up. Any outsider who will approach it shall be killed.	51 Lorsque la Demeure se déplacera, les Lévites la démonteront; lorsque la Demeure fera halte, lesLévites la dresseront. Tout profane qui s'en approchera sera mis à mort.
52 Now the sons of Israel shall make camp, each one by his companies and bands, as well as his army.	52 Les Israélites camperont chacun dans son camp, chacun près de son étendard, selon leurs unités.
53 Moreover, the Levites shall fix their tents all around the tabernacle, lest there be an indignation over the multitude of the sons of Israel. And they shall stand watch as guardians over the tabernacle of the testimony.”	53 Mais les Lévites camperont autour de la Demeure du Témoignage. Ainsi la Colère n'éclatera pascontre la communauté des Israélites. Et les Lévites assureront le service de la Demeure du Témoignage."
54 Therefore, the sons of Israel acted according to everything that the Lord had instructed Moses.	54 Les Israélites se conformèrent en tout point à ce que Yahvé avait ordonné à Moïse. C'est ainsiqu'ils firent.
