Psalms 74

1 Unto the end. May you not be corrupted. A Canticle Psalm of Asaph.	1 (Per la fine. Non distruggere. Salmo del cantico di Asaf)
2 We will confess to you, O God. We will confess, and we will call upon your name. We will describe your wonders.	2 Noi ti loderemo, o Dio, ti loderemo, invocheremo il tuo nome, celebreremo le tue maraviglie.
3 While I have time, I will judge justices.	3 « Quando verrà il mio tempo, io giudicherò con giustizia.
4 The earth has been dissolved, with all who dwell in it. I have confirmed its pillars.	4 La terra s'è strutta con tutti i suoi abitatori: io ho rese salde le sue colonne ».
5 I said to the iniquitous: “Do not act unjustly,” and to the offenders: “Do not exalt the horn.”	5 Ho detto agli iniqui: « Non vogliate agire iniquamente » e ai peccatori: « Non alzate tanto la testa.
6 Do not exalt your horn on high. Do not speak iniquity against God.	6 Non alzate la testa contro il cielo, non vogliate parlare iniquamente contro Dio.
7 For it is neither from the east, nor from the west, nor before the desert mountains.	7 Perchè nè dall'oriente nè dall'occidente, nè dalle montagne deserte (verrà il soccorso):
8 For God is judge. This one he humbles and that one he exalts.	8 Dio è giudice: Egli umilia uno ed esalta l'altro.
9 For, in the hand of the Lord, there is a cup of undiluted wine, full of consternation. And he has tipped it from here to there. So, truly, its dregs have not been emptied. All the sinners of the earth will drink.	9 Nella mano del Signore vi è un calice di vin pretto pieno di droghe. Egli ne mesce di qua e di là; la feccia di tal vino non è certo esaurita: ne berranno tutti i peccatori della terra ».
10 But I will announce it in every age. I will sing to the God of Jacob.	10 Ed io proclamerò sempre tali cose, canterò al Dio di Giacobbe.
11 And I will break all the horns of sinners. And the horns of the just will be exalted.	11 Fiaccherò la potenza dei peccatori, e sarà esaltata la potenza dei giusti.
