Tobit 11

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 They were nearly at Kaserin, opposite Nineveh,	1 Cuando llegaron cerca de Kaserín, que está frente a Nínive,
2 when Raphael said, 'You know the plight in which we left your father;	2 dijo Rafael: «Tú sabes bien en qué situación dejamos a tu padre;
3 let us go on ahead of your wife and prepare the house ourselves while she travels behind with theothers.'	3 vamos a adelantarnos nosotros a tu mujer para preparar la casa, mientras llegan los demás».
4 They went on together (Raphael warned Tobias to take the gal with him) and the dog followed them.	4 Prosiguieron, pues, los dos juntos; el ángel le dijo: «Toma contigo la hiel». El perro seguía detrás de ellos.
5 Anna was sitting, watching the road by which her son would come.	5 Estaba Ana sentada, con la mirada fija en el camino de su hijo.
6 She was sure at once it must be he and said to the father, 'Here comes your son, with his companion.'	6 Tuvo la corazonada de que él venía y dijo al padre: «Mira, ya viene tu hijo y el hombre que le acompañaba».
7 Raphael said to Tobias before he reached his father, 'I give you my word that your father's eyes wil open.	7 Rafael iba diciendo a Tobías, mientras se acercaban al padre: «Tengo por seguro que se abrirán los ojos de tu padre.
8 You must put the fish's gal to his eyes; the medicine wil smart and wil draw a filmy white skin off hiseyes. And your father wil no more be blind but will be able to see the light.'	8 Untale los ojos con la hiel del pez, y el remedio hará que las manchas blancas se contraigan y se le caerán como escamos de los ojos. Y así tu padre podrá mirar y ver la luz».
9 The mother ran forward and threw her arms round her son's neck. 'Now I can die,' she said, 'I haveseen you again.' And she wept.	9 Corrió Ana y se echó al cuello de su hijo, diciendo: «¡Ya te he visto, hijo! ¡Ya puedo morir!» Y rompió a llorar.
10 Tobit rose to his feet and stumbled across the courtyard through the door. Tobias came on towardshim	10 Tobit se levantó y trompicando salió a la puerta del patio.
11 (he had the fish's gal in his hand). He blew into his eyes and said, steadying him, 'Take courage,father!' With this he applied the medicine, left it there a while,	11 Corrió hacia él Tobías, llevando en la mano la hiel del pez; le sopló en los ojos y abrazándole estrechamente le dijo: «¡Ten confianza, padre!» Y le aplicó el remedio y esperó;
12 then with both hands peeled away a filmy skin from the corners of his eyes.	12 y luego, con ambas manos le quitó las escamas de la comisura de los ojos.
13 Then his father fel on his neck	13 Entonces él se arrojó a su cuello, lloró y le dijo: «¡Ahora te veo, hijo, luz de mis ojos!»
14 and wept. He exclaimed, 'I can see you, my son, the light of my eyes!' And he said: Blessed be God!Blessed be his great name! Blessed be all his holy angels! Blessed be his great name for evermore!	14 Y añadió: ¡Bendito sea Dios! ¡Bendito su gran Nombre! ¡Bendito todos sus santos ángeles! ¡Bendito su gran Nombre por todos los siglos!
15 For, having afflicted me, he has had pity on me and now I see my son Tobias! Tobias went indoors,joyfully blessing God at the top of his voice. Then he told his father everything; how his journey had beensuccessful and he had brought the silver back; how he had married Sarah the daughter of Raguel; how she wasfol owing him now, close behind, and could not be far from the gates of Nineveh.	15 Porque me había azotado, pero me tiene piedad y ahora veo a mi hijo Tobías. Tobías entró en casa lleno de gozo y bendiciendo a Dios con toda su voz; luego contó a su padre el éxito de su viaje, cómo traía el dinero y cómo se había casado con Sarra, la hija de Ragüel, y que venía ella con él y estaba ya a las puertas de Nínive.
16 Tobit set off to the gates of Nineveh to meet his daughter-in-law, giving joyful praise to God as hewent. When the people of Nineveh saw him walking without a guide and stepping forward as briskly as of old,they were astonished.	16 Tobit salió al encuentro de su nuera hasta las puertas de Nínive, bendiciendo a Dios, lleno de gozo. Cuando los de Nínive le vieron caminar, avanzando con su antigua firmeza, sin necesidad de lazarillo, se maravillaron. Tobit proclamó delante de ellos que Dios se había compadecido de él y le había abierto los ojos.
17 Tobit described to them how God had taken pity on him and had opened his eyes. Then Tobit metSarah the bride of his son Tobias, and blessed her in these words. 'Welcome, daughter! Blessed be your God forsending you to us, my daughter. Blessings on your father, blessings on my son Tobias, blessings on yourself,my daughter. Welcome now to your own house in joyfulness and in blessedness. Come in, my daughter.' Thatday brought joy to the Jews of Nineveh,	17 Se acercó Tobit a Sarra, la mujer de su hijo, y la bendijo diciendo: «¡Bienvenida seas, hija! Y bendito sea tu Dios, hija, que te ha traído hasta nosotros. Bendito sea tu padre, y bendito Tobías, mi hijo, y bendita tú misma, hija. Bienvenida seas, entra en tu casa con gozo y bendición».
18 and his cousins Ahikar and Nadab came to share in Tobit's happiness.	18 Todos los judíos de Nínive celebraron fiesta aquel día.
	19 También Ajikar y Nabad, primos de Tobit, vinieron a congratularle.
