Psalms 96

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.	1 Sing a new song to Yahweh! Sing to Yahweh, al the earth!
2 Sing to the LORD, bless his name; announce his salvation day after day.	2 Sing to Yahweh, bless his name! Proclaim his salvation day after day,
3 Tell God's glory among the nations; among all peoples, God's marvelous deeds.	3 declare his glory among the nations, his marvels to every people!
4 For great is the LORD and highly to be praised, to be feared above all gods.	4 Great is Yahweh, worthy of al praise, more awesome than any of the gods.
5 For the gods of the nations all do nothing, but the LORD made the heavens.	5 Al the gods of the nations are idols! It was Yahweh who made the heavens;
6 Splendor and power go before him; power and grandeur are in his holy place.	6 in his presence are splendour and majesty, in his sanctuary power and beauty.
7 Give to the LORD, you families of nations, give to the LORD glory and might;	7 Give to Yahweh, families of nations, give to Yahweh glory and power,
8 give to the LORD the glory due his name! Bring gifts and enter his courts;	8 give to Yahweh the glory due to his name! Bring an offering and enter his courts,
9 bow down to the LORD, splendid in holiness. Tremble before God, all the earth;	9 adore Yahweh in the splendour of his holiness. Tremble before him, al the earth.
10 say among the nations: The LORD is king. The world will surely stand fast, never to be moved. God rules the peoples with fairness.	10 Say among the nations, 'Yahweh is king.' The world is set firm, it cannot be moved. He wil judge thenations with justice.
11 Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let the sea and what fills it resound;	11 Let the heavens rejoice and earth be glad! Let the sea thunder, and al it holds!
12 let the plains be joyful and all that is in them. Then let all the trees of the forest rejoice	12 Let the countryside exult, and al that is in it, and al the trees of the forest cry out for joy,
13 before the LORD who comes, who comes to govern the earth, To govern the world with justice and the peoples with faithfulness.	13 at Yahweh's approach, for he is coming, coming to judge the earth; he will judge the world withsaving justice, and the nations with constancy.
