1 "For burning incense you shall make an altar of acacia wood,	1 Farai anche un altare per bruciarvi i timiami di legno di setim,
2 with a square surface, a cubit long, a cubit wide, and two cubits high, with horns that spring directly from it.	2 Il quale avrà un cubito di lunghezza, e uno di larghezza, vale a dire, sarà quadro; e avrà due cubiti d'altezza. Spunteranno da esso i suoi corni.
3 Its grate on top, its walls on all four sides, and its horns you shall plate with pure gold. Put a gold molding around it.	3 E lo rivestirai d'oro finissimo tanto la sua graticola, come i lati all'intorno, e i corni. E gli farai una piccola corona d'oro, che girerà intorno ad esso,
4 Underneath the molding you shall put gold rings, two on one side and two on the opposite side, as holders for the poles used in carrying it.	4 E due anelli d'oro sotto la corona a ciascuno de' lati per passarvi le stanghe, affinché possa l'altare portarsi.
5 Make the poles, too, of acacia wood and plate them with gold.	5 Le stanghe ancora le farai di legno di setim, e le coprirai d'oro.
6 This altar you are to place in front of the veil that hangs before the ark of the commandments where I will meet you.	6 E collocherai l'altare dirimpetto al velo, che pende dinanzi all'arca del testimonio innanzi al propiziatorio, che cuopre l'arca del testimonio, dove io a te parlerò.
7 "On it Aaron shall burn fragrant incense. Morning after morning, when he prepares the lamps,	7 E Aronne brucerà sopra di quello i profumi di soave fragranza ogni mattina. Li brucerà nel tempo, che accomoderà le lucerne:
8 and again in the evening twilight, when he lights the lamps, he shall burn incense. Throughout your generations this shall be the established incense offering before the LORD.	8 E quando le rimetterà alla sera, brucerà sempre i timiani dinanzi al Signore per tutte le vostre generazioni.
9 On this altar you shall not offer up any profane incense, or any holocaust or cereal offering; nor shall you pour out a libation upon it.	9 Non offrirete sopra di esso alcun timiama di straniera composizione, né obblazione alcuna, né vittima, né vi farete libagioni.
10 Once a year Aaron shall perform the atonement rite on its horns. Throughout your generations this atonement is to be made once a year with the blood of the atoning sin offering. This altar is most sacred to the LORD."	10 Una volta l'anno Aronne farà l’espiazione de' corni dell'altare col sangue offerto pel peccato, e con questo placherà (Dio) per tutte le generazioni vostre. Sarà cosa santissima dinanzi al Signore.
11 The LORD also said to Moses,	11 E il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
12 "When you take a census of the Israelites who are to be registered, each one, as he is enrolled, shall give the LORD a forfeit for his life, so that no plague may come upon them for being registered.	12 Quando avrai fatto il conto de' figliuoli d'Israele, ciascheduno compreso in questo numero darà al Signore il prezzo del suo riscatto, e non saranno soggetti a flagello, quando saranno stati censiti.
13 Everyone who enters the registered group must pay a half-shekel, according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel, twenty gerahs to the shekel. This payment of a half-shekel is a contribution to the LORD.	13 Or tutti que' che saranno descritti, daranno la metà d'un siclo secondo il peso del tempio. Il siclo contiene venti obbli. La metà del siclo sarà offerta al Signore.
14 Everyone of twenty years or more who enters the registered group must give this contribution to the LORD.	14 Quelli che avran luogo nel censo da' venti anni in là, pagheranno il riscatto.
15 The rich need not give more, nor shall the poor give less, than a half-shekel in this contribution to the LORD to pay the forfeit for their lives.	15 Il ricco non darà di più del mezzo siclo, e il povero non darà di meno.
16 When you receive this forfeit money from the Israelites, you shall donate it to the service of the meeting tent, that there it may be the Israelites' reminder before the LORD, of the forfeit paid for their lives."	16 E preso il denaro offerto da' figliuoli d'Israele, lo depositerai per servigio del tabernacolo della testimonianza, affinché rappelli al Signore la memoria di essi, ed ei si renda propizio alle anime loro.
17 The LORD said to Moses,	17 E il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
18 "For ablutions you shall make a bronze laver with a bronze base. Place it between the meeting tent and the altar, and put water in it.	18 Farai anche una conca di bronzo colla sua base, che serva di lavatoio: e la porrai tra'l tabernacolo della testimonianza, e l'altare. E messavi l'acqua,
19 Aaron and his sons shall use it in washing their hands and feet.	19 Si laveranno con essa Aronne, e i suoi figliuoli le loro mani, e i piedi,
20 When they are about to enter the meeting tent, they must wash with water, lest they die. Likewise when they approach the altar in their ministry, to offer an oblation to the LORD,	20 Quando saranno per entrare nel tabernacolo del testimonio, e quando dovranno accostarsi all'altare per offerirvi i timiami al Signore,
21 they must wash their hands and feet, lest they die. This shall be a perpetual ordinance for him and his descendants throughout their generations."	21 Affinché per disgrazia non periscano: questa sarà legge eterna per Aronne, e pe' discendenti, che succederanno.
22 The LORD said to Moses,	22 E il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
23 "Take the finest spices: five hundred shekels of free-flowing myrrh; half that amount, that is, two hundred and fifty shekels, of fragrant cinnamon; two hundred and fifty shekels of fragrant cane;	23 Prendi tu questi aromi: cinquecento sicli di mirra la prima, e più eccellente; e la metà, cioè dugento cinquanta sicli di cinnamomo, e parimente dugento cinquanta sicli di canna odorosa,
24 five hundred shekels of cassia-all according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel; together with a hin of olive oil;	24 E cinquecento sicli di cassia a peso del santuario, e la misura d'un hin d'olio d'ulivo:
25 and blend them into sacred anointing oil, perfumed ointment expertly prepared.	25 E ne formerai l'olio santo per le unzioni, l'unguento composto con arte dal profumiere,
26 With this sacred anointing oil you shall anoint the meeting tent and the ark of the commandments,	26 E con esso ungerai il tabernacolo del testimonio, e l'arca del testamento,
27 the table and all its appurtenances, the lampstand and its appurtenances, the altar of incense	27 E la mensa co' suoi vasi, e il candelabro, e le cose, che servono per esso, e l'altare del timiama,
28 and the altar of holocausts with all its appurtenances, and the laver with its base.	28 E quello degli olocausti, e tutti gli utensili, che servono ad uso di essi.
29 When you have consecrated them, they shall be most sacred; whatever touches them shall be sacred.	29 E santificherai tutte queste cose, e diverranno santissime: chiunque le toccherà, sarà santificato.
30 Aaron and his sons you shall also anoint and consecrate as my priests.	30 Ungerai Aronne, e i suoi figliuoli, e li santificherai, affinché esercitino il mio sacerdozio.
31 To the Israelites you shall say: As sacred anointing oil this shall belong to me throughout your generations.	31 Dirai pure a' figliuoli d'Israele: Quest'olio della unzione sarà consacrato a me per tutte le generazioni vostre.
32 It may not be used in any ordinary anointing of the body, nor may you make any other oil of a like mixture. It is sacred, and shall be treated as sacred by you.	32 Nissun uomo con esso si ungerà, e altro non ne farete di simile composizione, perché questo è santificato, e sarà santo per voi.
33 Whoever prepares a perfume like this, or whoever puts any of this on a layman, shall be cut off from his kinsmen."	33 Qualsivoglia uomo, che una simile ne formi, e ne dia ad un estraneo, sarà sterminato dal consorzio del popol suo.
34 The LORD told Moses, "Take these aromatic substances: storax and onycha and galbanum, these and pure frankincense in equal parts;	34 E il Signore disse a Mosè: Prendi questi aromi, statte, oniche, e galbano di grato odore, e incenso lucidissimo: il tutto in eguali porzioni:
35 and blend them into incense. This fragrant powder, expertly prepared, is to be salted and so kept pure and sacred.	35 E farai un timiama composto secondo l'arte di profumiere manipolato con diligenza, e purificato, e degnissimo d’esser offerto.
36 Grind some of it into fine dust and put this before the commandments in the meeting tent where I will meet you. This incense shall be treated as most sacred by you.	36 E quando avrai ridotto il tutto in minutissima polvere, ne porrai dinanzi al tabernacolo e lei testimonio, nel qual luogo io ti apparirò. Sarà questo per voi santissimo timiama.
37 You may not make incense of a like mixture for yourselves; you must treat it as sacred to the LORD.	37 Composizione simile non farete per vostro uso, perché è cosa consacrata al Signore.
38 Whoever makes an incense like this for his own enjoyment of its fragrance, shall be cut off from his kinsmen."	38 Chiunque ne farà una simile per goderne l'odore, perirà di mezzo al suo popolo.
