1 "For burning incense you shall make an altar of acacia wood,	1 Farai un altare sul quale bruciare l’incenso: lo farai di legno di acacia.
2 with a square surface, a cubit long, a cubit wide, and two cubits high, with horns that spring directly from it.	2 Avrà un cubito di lunghezza e un cubito di larghezza: sarà quadrato; avrà due cubiti di altezza e i suoi corni costituiranno un solo pezzo con esso.
3 Its grate on top, its walls on all four sides, and its horns you shall plate with pure gold. Put a gold molding around it.	3 Rivestirai d’oro puro il suo piano, i suoi lati, i suoi corni e gli farai intorno un bordo d’oro.
4 Underneath the molding you shall put gold rings, two on one side and two on the opposite side, as holders for the poles used in carrying it.	4 Farai anche due anelli d’oro al di sotto del bordo, sui due fianchi, ponendoli cioè sui due lati opposti: serviranno per inserire le stanghe destinate a trasportarlo.
5 Make the poles, too, of acacia wood and plate them with gold.	5 Farai le stanghe di legno di acacia e le rivestirai d’oro.
6 This altar you are to place in front of the veil that hangs before the ark of the commandments where I will meet you.	6 Porrai l’altare davanti al velo che nasconde l’arca della Testimonianza, di fronte al propiziatorio che è sopra la Testimonianza, dove io ti darò convegno.
7 "On it Aaron shall burn fragrant incense. Morning after morning, when he prepares the lamps,	7 Aronne brucerà su di esso l’incenso aromatico: lo brucerà ogni mattina, quando riordinerà le lampade,
8 and again in the evening twilight, when he lights the lamps, he shall burn incense. Throughout your generations this shall be the established incense offering before the LORD.	8 e lo brucerà anche al tramonto, quando Aronne riempirà le lampade: incenso perenne davanti al Signore di generazione in generazione.
9 On this altar you shall not offer up any profane incense, or any holocaust or cereal offering; nor shall you pour out a libation upon it.	9 Non vi offrirete sopra incenso illegittimo né olocausto né oblazione, né vi verserete libagione.
10 Once a year Aaron shall perform the atonement rite on its horns. Throughout your generations this atonement is to be made once a year with the blood of the atoning sin offering. This altar is most sacred to the LORD."	10 Una volta all’anno Aronne compirà il rito espiatorio sui corni di esso: con il sangue del sacrificio espiatorio per il peccato compirà sopra di esso, una volta all’anno, il rito espiatorio di generazione in generazione. È cosa santissima per il Signore».
11 The LORD also said to Moses,	11 Il Signore parlò a Mosè e gli disse:
12 "When you take a census of the Israelites who are to be registered, each one, as he is enrolled, shall give the LORD a forfeit for his life, so that no plague may come upon them for being registered.	12 «Quando per il censimento conterai uno per uno gli Israeliti, all’atto del censimento ciascuno di essi pagherà al Signore il riscatto della sua vita, perché non li colpisca un flagello in occasione del loro censimento.
13 Everyone who enters the registered group must pay a half-shekel, according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel, twenty gerahs to the shekel. This payment of a half-shekel is a contribution to the LORD.	13 Chiunque verrà sottoposto al censimento, pagherà un mezzo siclo, conforme al siclo del santuario, il siclo di venti ghera. Questo mezzo siclo sarà un’offerta prelevata in onore del Signore.
14 Everyone of twenty years or more who enters the registered group must give this contribution to the LORD.	14 Ogni persona sottoposta al censimento, dai venti anni in su, corrisponderà l’offerta prelevata per il Signore.
15 The rich need not give more, nor shall the poor give less, than a half-shekel in this contribution to the LORD to pay the forfeit for their lives.	15 Il ricco non darà di più e il povero non darà di meno di mezzo siclo, per soddisfare all’offerta prelevata per il Signore, a riscatto delle vostre vite.
16 When you receive this forfeit money from the Israelites, you shall donate it to the service of the meeting tent, that there it may be the Israelites' reminder before the LORD, of the forfeit paid for their lives."	16 Prenderai il denaro espiatorio ricevuto dagli Israeliti e lo impiegherai per il servizio della tenda del convegno. Esso sarà per gli Israeliti come un memoriale davanti al Signore, per il riscatto delle vostre vite».
17 The LORD said to Moses,	17 Il Signore parlò a Mosè:
18 "For ablutions you shall make a bronze laver with a bronze base. Place it between the meeting tent and the altar, and put water in it.	18 «Farai per le abluzioni un bacino di bronzo con il piedistallo di bronzo; lo collocherai tra la tenda del convegno e l’altare e vi metterai acqua.
19 Aaron and his sons shall use it in washing their hands and feet.	19 Aronne e i suoi figli vi attingeranno per lavarsi le mani e i piedi.
20 When they are about to enter the meeting tent, they must wash with water, lest they die. Likewise when they approach the altar in their ministry, to offer an oblation to the LORD,	20 Quando entreranno nella tenda del convegno, faranno un’abluzione con l’acqua, perché non muoiano; così quando si avvicineranno all’altare per officiare, per bruciare un’offerta da consumare con il fuoco in onore del Signore,
21 they must wash their hands and feet, lest they die. This shall be a perpetual ordinance for him and his descendants throughout their generations."	21 si laveranno le mani e i piedi e non moriranno. È una prescrizione rituale perenne per Aronne e per i suoi discendenti, in tutte le loro generazioni».
22 The LORD said to Moses,	22 Il Signore parlò a Mosè:
23 "Take the finest spices: five hundred shekels of free-flowing myrrh; half that amount, that is, two hundred and fifty shekels, of fragrant cinnamon; two hundred and fifty shekels of fragrant cane;	23 «Procùrati balsami pregiati: mirra vergine per il peso di cinquecento sicli; cinnamòmo profumato, la metà, cioè duecentocinquanta sicli; canna aromatica, duecentocinquanta;
24 five hundred shekels of cassia-all according to the standard of the sanctuary shekel; together with a hin of olive oil;	24 cassia, cinquecento sicli, conformi al siclo del santuario; e un hin d’olio d’oliva.
25 and blend them into sacred anointing oil, perfumed ointment expertly prepared.	25 Ne farai l’olio per l’unzione sacra, un unguento composto secondo l’arte del profumiere: sarà l’olio per l’unzione sacra.
26 With this sacred anointing oil you shall anoint the meeting tent and the ark of the commandments,	26 Con esso ungerai la tenda del convegno, l’arca della Testimonianza,
27 the table and all its appurtenances, the lampstand and its appurtenances, the altar of incense	27 la tavola e tutti i suoi accessori, il candelabro con i suoi accessori, l’altare dell’incenso,
28 and the altar of holocausts with all its appurtenances, and the laver with its base.	28 l’altare degli olocausti e tutti i suoi accessori, il bacino con il suo piedistallo.
29 When you have consecrated them, they shall be most sacred; whatever touches them shall be sacred.	29 Consacrerai queste cose, che diventeranno santissime: tutto quello che verrà a contatto con esse sarà santo.
30 Aaron and his sons you shall also anoint and consecrate as my priests.	30 Ungerai anche Aronne e i suoi figli e li consacrerai, perché esercitino il mio sacerdozio.
31 To the Israelites you shall say: As sacred anointing oil this shall belong to me throughout your generations.	31 Agli Israeliti dirai: “Questo sarà per me l’olio dell’unzione sacra, di generazione in generazione.
32 It may not be used in any ordinary anointing of the body, nor may you make any other oil of a like mixture. It is sacred, and shall be treated as sacred by you.	32 Non si dovrà versare sul corpo di nessun uomo e di simile a questo non ne dovrete fare: è una cosa santa e santa la dovrete ritenere.
33 Whoever prepares a perfume like this, or whoever puts any of this on a layman, shall be cut off from his kinsmen."	33 Chi ne farà di simile a questo o ne porrà sopra un uomo estraneo, sia eliminato dal suo popolo”».
34 The LORD told Moses, "Take these aromatic substances: storax and onycha and galbanum, these and pure frankincense in equal parts;	34 Il Signore disse a Mosè: «Procùrati balsami: storace, ònice, gàlbano e incenso puro: il tutto in parti uguali.
35 and blend them into incense. This fragrant powder, expertly prepared, is to be salted and so kept pure and sacred.	35 Farai con essi un profumo da bruciare, una composizione aromatica secondo l’arte del profumiere, salata, pura e santa.
36 Grind some of it into fine dust and put this before the commandments in the meeting tent where I will meet you. This incense shall be treated as most sacred by you.	36 Ne pesterai un poco riducendola in polvere minuta e ne metterai davanti alla Testimonianza, nella tenda del convegno, dove io ti darò convegno. Cosa santissima sarà da voi ritenuta.
37 You may not make incense of a like mixture for yourselves; you must treat it as sacred to the LORD.	37 Non farete per vostro uso alcun profumo di composizione simile a quello che devi fare: lo riterrai una cosa santa in onore del Signore.
38 Whoever makes an incense like this for his own enjoyment of its fragrance, shall be cut off from his kinsmen."	38 Chi ne farà di simile, per sentirne il profumo, sia eliminato dal suo popolo».
