1 A Job ovako odgovori Jahvi:	1 This was the answer Job gave to Yahweh:
2 »Ja znadem, moć je tvoja bezgranična: što god naumiš, to izvesti možeš.	2 I know that you are al -powerful: what you conceive, you can perform.
3 Tko je taj koji riječima bezumnim zamračuje božanski promisao? Govorah stoga, ali ne razumjeh, o čudesima meni neshvatljivim.	3 I was the man who misrepresented your intentions with my ignorant words. You have told me aboutgreat works that I cannot understand, about marvels which are beyond me, of which I know nothing.
4 O, poslušaj me, pusti me da zborim: ja ću te pitat’, a ti me pouči.	4 (Listen, please, and let me speak: I am going to ask the questions, and you are to inform me.)
5 Po čuvenju tek poznavah te dosad, ali sada te oči moje vidješe.	5 Before, I knew you only by hearsay but now, having seen you with my own eyes,
6 Sve riječi svoje zato ja poričem i kajem se u prahu i pepelu.«	6 I retract what I have said, and repent in dust and ashes.
7 Kada Jahve izgovori Jobu te riječi, reče on Elifazu Temancu: »Ti i tvoja dva prijatelja raspalili ste gnjev moj jer niste o meni onako pravo govorili kao moj sluga Job.	7 When Yahweh had finished saying this to Job, he said to Eliphaz of Teman, 'I burn with anger against you and your two friends, for not having spoken correctly about me as my servant Job has done.
8 Zato uzmite sada sedam junaca i sedam ovnova i pođite k mome sluzi Jobu, pa prinesite za sebe paljenicu, a sluga moj Job molit će se za vas. Imat ću obzira prema njemu i neću vam učiniti ništa nažao zato što niste o meni onako pravo govorili kao moj sluga Job.«	8 So now find seven bul ocks and seven rams, and take them back with you to my servant Job andmake a burnt offering for yourselves, while Job, my servant, offers prayers for you. I shal show him favour andshall not inflict my displeasure on you for not having spoken about me correctly, as my servant Job has done.'
9 Tada odoše Elifaz iz Temana, Bildad iz Šuaha i Sofar iz Naama i učiniše kako im je Jahve zapovjedio. I Jahve se obazre na Joba.	9 Eliphaz of Teman, Bildad of Shuah and Zophar of Naamath went away to do as Yahweh had ordered,and Yahweh listened to Job with favour.
10 I Jahve vrati Joba u prijašnje stanje jer se založio za svoje prijatelje, pa mu još udvostruči ono što je posjedovao.	10 And Yahweh restored Job's condition, while Job was interceding for his friends. More than that,Yahweh gave him double what he had before.
11 Tad se vratiše Jobu sva njegova braća, i sve njegove sestre, i svi prijašnji znanci te su jeli s njim kruh u njegovoj kući, žaleći ga i tješeći zbog svih nevolja što ih Jahve bijaše na nj poslao. Svaki mu darova po jedan srebrnik i po jedan zlatan prsten.	11 And al his brothers and all his sisters and al his friends of former times came to see him. Over dinnerin his house, they showed their sympathy and comforted him for al the evils Yahweh had inflicted on him. Eachof them gave him a silver coin, and each a gold ring.
12 Jahve blagoslovi novo Jobovo stanje još više negoli prijašnje. Blago mu je brojilo četrnaest tisuća ovaca, šest tisuća deva, tisuću jarmova volova i tisuću magarica.	12 Yahweh blessed Job's latter condition even more than his former one. He came to own fourteenthousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand she-donkeys.
13 Imao je sedam sinova i tri kćeri.	13 He had seven sons and three daughters;
14 Prvoj nadjenu ime Jemima, drugoj Kasija, a trećoj Keren-Hapuk.	14 his first daughter he cal ed 'Turtledove', the second 'Cassia' and the third 'Mascara'.
15 U svem onom kraju ne bijaše žena tako lijepih kao Jobove kćeri. I otac im dade jednaku baštinu kao i njihovoj braći.	15 Throughout the land there were no women as beautiful as the daughters of Job. And their father gavethem inheritance rights like their brothers.
16 Poslije toga Job doživje dob od sto četrdeset godina i vidje djecu svoju i djecu svoje djece do četvrtog koljena.	16 After this, Job lived for another one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and his children'schildren to the fourth generation.
17 Potom umrije Job, star, nauživši se života.	17 Then, old and ful of days, Job died.
