GREEK BIBLEDOUAI-RHEIMS
Γνωριζεις τον καιρον του τοκετου των αγριων αιγων του βραχου; δυνασαι να σημειωσης ποτε γεννωσιν αι ελαφοι;1 Knowest thou the time when the wild goats bring forth among the rocks, or hast thou observed the hinds when they fawn?
Δυνασαι να αριθμησης τους μηνας τους οποιους πληρουσιν; η γνωριζεις τον καιρον του τοκετου αυτων;2 Hast thou numbered the months of their conceiving, or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
Αυται συγκαμπτονται, γεννωσι τα παιδια αυτων, ελευθερονονται απο των ωδινων αυτων.3 They bow themselves to bring forth young, and they cast them, and send forth roarings.
Τα τεκνα αυτων ενδυναμουνται, αυξανουσιν εν τη πεδιαδι? εξερχονται και δεν επιστρεφουσι πλεον εις αυτας.4 Their young are weaned and go to feed : they go forth, and return not to them.
Τις εξαπεστειλεν ελευθερον τον αγριον ονον; η τις ελυσε τους δεσμους αυτου;5 Who hath sent out the wild ass free, and who hath loosed his bonds?
του οποιου οικιαν εκαμον την ερημον, και την αλμυριδα κατοικιαν αυτου.6 To whom I have given a house in the wilderness, and his dwellings in the barren land.
Καταγελα του θορυβου της πολεως? δεν ακουει την κραυγην του εργοδιωκτου.7 He scorneth the multitude of the city, he heareth not the cry of the driver.
Κατασκοπευει τα ορη δια βοσκην αυτου, και υπαγει ζητων κατοπιν παντος ειδους χλοης.8 He looketh round about the mountains of his pasture, and seeketh for every green thing.
Θελει ευχαριστηθη ο μονοκερως να σε δουλευη, η θελει διανυκτερευσει εν τη φατνη σου;9 Shall the rhinoceros be willing to serve thee, or will he stay at thy crib?
Δυνασαι να δεσης τον μονοκερων με τον δεσμον αυτου προς αροτριασιν; η θελει ομαλιζει τας πεδιαδας οπισω σου;10 Canst thou bind the rhinoceros with thy thong to plough, or will he break the clods of the valleys after thee?
Θελεις βαλει το θαρρος σου εις αυτον, διοτι η δυναμις αυτου ειναι μεγαλη; η θελεις αφησει την εργασιαν σου επ' αυτον;11 Wilt thou have confidence in his great strength, and leave thy labours to him?
Θελεις εμπιστευθη εις αυτον να σοι φερη τον σπορον σου και να συναξη αυτον εν τω αλωνιω σου;12 Wilt thou trust him that he will render thee the seed, and gather it into thy barnfloor?
Εδωκας συ τας ωραιας πτερυγας εις τους ταωνας; η πτερυγας και πτερα εις την στρουθοκαμηλον;13 The wing of the ostrich is like the wings of the heron, and of the hawk.
ητις αφινει τα ωα αυτης εις την γην και θαλπει αυτα επι του χωματος,14 When she leaveth her eggs on the earth, thou perhaps wilt warm them in the dust.
και λησμονει οτι ο πους ενδεχεται να συντριψη αυτα, η το θηριον του αγρου να καταπατηση αυτα?15 She forgetteth that the foot may tread upon them, or that the beasts of the field may break them.
σκληρυνεται κατα των τεκνων αυτης, ως να μη ησαν αυτης? ματαιως εκοπιασε, μη φοβουμενη?16 She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers, she hath laboured in vain, no fear constraining her.
διοτι ο Θεος εστερησεν αυτην απο σοφιας και δεν εμοιρασεν εις αυτην συνεσιν?17 For God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he given her understanding.
οσακις σηκονεται ορθιος, καταγελα του ιππου και του αναβατου αυτου.18 When time shall be, she setteth up her wings on high : she scorneth the horse and his rider.
Συ εδωκας δυναμιν εις τον ιππον; περιενεδυσας τον τραχηλον αυτου με βροντην;19 Wilt thou give strength to the horse, or clothe his neck with neighing?
συ καμνεις αυτον να πηδα ως ακρις; το γαυριαμα των μυκτηρων αυτου ειναι τρομερον?20 Wilt thou lift him up like the locusts? the glory of his nostrils is terror.
ανασκαπτει εν τη κοιλαδι και αγαλλεται εις την δυναμιν αυτου? εξερχεται εις απαντησιν των οπλων?21 He breaketh up the earth with his hoof, he pranceth boldly, he goeth forward to meet armed men.
καταγελα του φοβου και δεν τρομαζει? ουδε στρεφει απο προσωπου ρομφαιας?22 He despiseth fear, he turneth not his back to the sword,
η φαρετρα κροταλιζει κατ' αυτου, η εξαστραπτουσα λογχη και το δορυ.23 Above him shall the quiver rattle, the spear and shield shall glitter.
Καταπινει την γην εν αγριοτητι και μανια? και δεν πιστευει οτι ηχει σαλπιγξ?24 Chasing and raging he swalloweth the ground, neither doth he make account when the noise of the trumpet soundeth.
αμα δε τη φωνη της σαλπιγγος, λεγει, Α, α και μακροθεν οσφραινεται την μαχην, την κραυγην των στρατηγων και τον αλαλαγμον.25 When he heareth the trumpet he saith : Ha, ha : he smelleth the battle afar off, the encouraging of the captains, and the shouting of the army.
Δια της σοφιας σου πετα ο ιεραξ και απλονει τας πτερυγας αυτου προς νοτον;26 Doth the hawk wax feathered by thy wisdom, spreading her wings to the south?
Εις την προσταγην σου ανυψουται ο αετος και καμνει την φωλεαν αυτου εν τοις υψηλοις;27 Will the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest in high places?
Κατοικει επι βραχου και διατριβει, επι αποτομου βραχου και επι αβατων τοπων?28 She abideth among the rocks, and dwelleth among cragged flints, and stony hills, where there is no access.
εκειθεν αναζητει τροφην? οι οφθαλμοι αυτου σκοπευουσι μακροθεν?29 From thence she looketh for the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.
και οι νεοσσοι αυτου αιμα πινουσι? και οπου πτωματα, εκει και αυτος.30 Her young ones shall suck up blood : and wheresoever the carcass shall be, she is immediately there.
And the Lord went on, and said to Job :
Shall he that contendeth with God be so easily silenced? surely he that reproveth God, ought to answer him.
Then Job answered the Lord, and said :
One thing I have spoken, which I wish I had not said : and another, to which I will add no more.
