Hosea 6

DOUAI-RHEIMS	JERUSALEM
1 In their affliction they will rise early to me: Come, and let us return to the Lord:	1 "Venez, retournons vers Yahvé. Il a déchiré, il nous guérira; il a frappé, il pansera nos plaies;
2 For he hath taken us, and he will heal us: he will strike, and he will cure us.	2 après deux jours il nous fera revivre, le troisième jour il nous relèvera et nous vivrons en sa présence.
3 He will revive us after two days: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. We shall know, and we shall follow on, that we may know the Lord. His going forth is prepared as the morning light, and he will come to us as the early and the latter rain to the earth.	3 Connaissons, appliquons-nous à connaître Yahvé; sa venue est certaine comme l'aurore; il viendrapour nous comme l'ondée, comme la pluie de printemps qui arrose la terre" --
4 What shall I do to thee, O Ephraim? what shall I do to thee, O Juda? your mercy is as a morning cloud, and as the dew that goeth away in the morning.	4 Que te ferai-je, Ephraïm? Que te ferai-je, Juda? Car votre amour est comme la nuée du matin, commela rosée qui tôt se dissipe.
5 For this reason have I hewed them by the prophets, I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments shall go forth as the light.	5 C'est pourquoi je les ai taillés en pièces par les prophètes, je les ai tués par les paroles de ma bouche; etmon jugement surgira comme la lumière.
6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice: and the knowledge of God more than holocausts.	6 Car c'est l'amour qui me plaît et non les sacrifices, la connaissance de Dieu plutôt que les holocaustes.
7 But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant, there have they dealt treacherously against me.	7 Mais eux, à Adam, ont transgressé l'alliance, là, ils m'ont trahi.
8 Galaad is a city of workers of idols, supplanted with blood.	8 Galaad est une cité de malfaiteurs qui porte des traces de sang.
9 And like the jaws of highway robbers, they conspire with the priests who murder in the way those that pass out Sichem: for they have wrought wickedness.	9 Comme des brigands en embuscade, une bande de prêtres assassine sur la route de Sichem; oui, ilscommettent l'infamie!
10 I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel: the fornications of Ephraim there: Israel is defiled.	10 A Béthel j'ai vu une chose horrible; c'est là que se prostitue Ephraïm, que se souille Israël.
11 And thou also, O Juda, set thee a harvest, when I shall bring back captivity of my people.	11 A toi aussi, Juda, est destinée une moisson, quand je rétablirai mon peuple.
