Hosea 6

DOUAI-RHEIMS	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 In their affliction they will rise early to me: Come, and let us return to the Lord:	1 “Venez, retournons vers Yahvé; s’il a déchiré, il nous guérira; s’il nous a frappés, il soignera nos plaies.
2 For he hath taken us, and he will heal us: he will strike, and he will cure us.	2 Après deux jours, il nous fera revivre, au troisième jour il nous relèvera et nous vivrons devant lui.
3 He will revive us after two days: on the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. We shall know, and we shall follow on, that we may know the Lord. His going forth is prepared as the morning light, and he will come to us as the early and the latter rain to the earth.	3 Connaissons-le, appliquons-nous à cette connaissance de Yahvé! Sa venue est certaine comme celle de l’aurore, 5b son intervention, soudaine comme celle du jour. 3b Il viendra à nous comme une pluie bienfaisante, comme la pluie de printemps qui arrose la terre.
4 What shall I do to thee, O Ephraim? what shall I do to thee, O Juda? your mercy is as a morning cloud, and as the dew that goeth away in the morning.	4 Que te ferai-je, Éphraïm, que te ferai-je, Juda? Votre fidélité est comme la nuée du matin, comme la rosée qui se dissipe de bonne heure,
5 For this reason have I hewed them by the prophets, I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments shall go forth as the light.	5 c’est pourquoi je les ai secoués par les prophètes, je les ai tués par les paroles de ma bouche;
6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice: and the knowledge of God more than holocausts.	6 car c’est l’amour sincère que je veux et non les sacrifices, la connaissance de Dieu plutôt que les holocaustes.
7 But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant, there have they dealt treacherously against me.	7 Mais à Adam ils ont désobéi à l’Alliance, ils m’ont trahi.
8 Galaad is a city of workers of idols, supplanted with blood.	8 Galaad est une région de bandits qui porte des traces de sang.
9 And like the jaws of highway robbers, they conspire with the priests who murder in the way those that pass out Sichem: for they have wrought wickedness.	9 Comme des brigands en embuscade, une bande de prêtres assassine sur la route de Sichem: oui, ce qu’ils font est une honte.
10 I have seen a horrible thing in the house of Israel: the fornications of Ephraim there: Israel is defiled.	10 À Béthel j’ai vu une chose horrible: Éphraïm se prostitue, Israël se rend impur.
11 And thou also, O Juda, set thee a harvest, when I shall bring back captivity of my people.	11 (À toi aussi Juda, est destinée une moisson lorsque je ferai revenir mon peuple et guérirai Israël.)
