DOUAI-RHEIMSGREEK BIBLE
Knowest thou the time when the wild goats bring forth among the rocks, or hast thou observed the hinds when they fawn?1 Γνωριζεις τον καιρον του τοκετου των αγριων αιγων του βραχου; δυνασαι να σημειωσης ποτε γεννωσιν αι ελαφοι;
Hast thou numbered the months of their conceiving, or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?2 Δυνασαι να αριθμησης τους μηνας τους οποιους πληρουσιν; η γνωριζεις τον καιρον του τοκετου αυτων;
They bow themselves to bring forth young, and they cast them, and send forth roarings.3 Αυται συγκαμπτονται, γεννωσι τα παιδια αυτων, ελευθερονονται απο των ωδινων αυτων.
Their young are weaned and go to feed : they go forth, and return not to them.4 Τα τεκνα αυτων ενδυναμουνται, αυξανουσιν εν τη πεδιαδι? εξερχονται και δεν επιστρεφουσι πλεον εις αυτας.
Who hath sent out the wild ass free, and who hath loosed his bonds?5 Τις εξαπεστειλεν ελευθερον τον αγριον ονον; η τις ελυσε τους δεσμους αυτου;
To whom I have given a house in the wilderness, and his dwellings in the barren land.6 του οποιου οικιαν εκαμον την ερημον, και την αλμυριδα κατοικιαν αυτου.
He scorneth the multitude of the city, he heareth not the cry of the driver.7 Καταγελα του θορυβου της πολεως? δεν ακουει την κραυγην του εργοδιωκτου.
He looketh round about the mountains of his pasture, and seeketh for every green thing.8 Κατασκοπευει τα ορη δια βοσκην αυτου, και υπαγει ζητων κατοπιν παντος ειδους χλοης.
Shall the rhinoceros be willing to serve thee, or will he stay at thy crib?9 Θελει ευχαριστηθη ο μονοκερως να σε δουλευη, η θελει διανυκτερευσει εν τη φατνη σου;
Canst thou bind the rhinoceros with thy thong to plough, or will he break the clods of the valleys after thee?10 Δυνασαι να δεσης τον μονοκερων με τον δεσμον αυτου προς αροτριασιν; η θελει ομαλιζει τας πεδιαδας οπισω σου;
Wilt thou have confidence in his great strength, and leave thy labours to him?11 Θελεις βαλει το θαρρος σου εις αυτον, διοτι η δυναμις αυτου ειναι μεγαλη; η θελεις αφησει την εργασιαν σου επ' αυτον;
Wilt thou trust him that he will render thee the seed, and gather it into thy barnfloor?12 Θελεις εμπιστευθη εις αυτον να σοι φερη τον σπορον σου και να συναξη αυτον εν τω αλωνιω σου;
The wing of the ostrich is like the wings of the heron, and of the hawk.13 Εδωκας συ τας ωραιας πτερυγας εις τους ταωνας; η πτερυγας και πτερα εις την στρουθοκαμηλον;
When she leaveth her eggs on the earth, thou perhaps wilt warm them in the dust.14 ητις αφινει τα ωα αυτης εις την γην και θαλπει αυτα επι του χωματος,
She forgetteth that the foot may tread upon them, or that the beasts of the field may break them.15 και λησμονει οτι ο πους ενδεχεται να συντριψη αυτα, η το θηριον του αγρου να καταπατηση αυτα?
She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers, she hath laboured in vain, no fear constraining her.16 σκληρυνεται κατα των τεκνων αυτης, ως να μη ησαν αυτης? ματαιως εκοπιασε, μη φοβουμενη?
For God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he given her understanding.17 διοτι ο Θεος εστερησεν αυτην απο σοφιας και δεν εμοιρασεν εις αυτην συνεσιν?
When time shall be, she setteth up her wings on high : she scorneth the horse and his rider.18 οσακις σηκονεται ορθιος, καταγελα του ιππου και του αναβατου αυτου.
Wilt thou give strength to the horse, or clothe his neck with neighing?19 Συ εδωκας δυναμιν εις τον ιππον; περιενεδυσας τον τραχηλον αυτου με βροντην;
Wilt thou lift him up like the locusts? the glory of his nostrils is terror.20 συ καμνεις αυτον να πηδα ως ακρις; το γαυριαμα των μυκτηρων αυτου ειναι τρομερον?
He breaketh up the earth with his hoof, he pranceth boldly, he goeth forward to meet armed men.21 ανασκαπτει εν τη κοιλαδι και αγαλλεται εις την δυναμιν αυτου? εξερχεται εις απαντησιν των οπλων?
He despiseth fear, he turneth not his back to the sword,22 καταγελα του φοβου και δεν τρομαζει? ουδε στρεφει απο προσωπου ρομφαιας?
Above him shall the quiver rattle, the spear and shield shall glitter.23 η φαρετρα κροταλιζει κατ' αυτου, η εξαστραπτουσα λογχη και το δορυ.
Chasing and raging he swalloweth the ground, neither doth he make account when the noise of the trumpet soundeth.24 Καταπινει την γην εν αγριοτητι και μανια? και δεν πιστευει οτι ηχει σαλπιγξ?
When he heareth the trumpet he saith : Ha, ha : he smelleth the battle afar off, the encouraging of the captains, and the shouting of the army.25 αμα δε τη φωνη της σαλπιγγος, λεγει, Α, α και μακροθεν οσφραινεται την μαχην, την κραυγην των στρατηγων και τον αλαλαγμον.
Doth the hawk wax feathered by thy wisdom, spreading her wings to the south?26 Δια της σοφιας σου πετα ο ιεραξ και απλονει τας πτερυγας αυτου προς νοτον;
Will the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest in high places?27 Εις την προσταγην σου ανυψουται ο αετος και καμνει την φωλεαν αυτου εν τοις υψηλοις;
She abideth among the rocks, and dwelleth among cragged flints, and stony hills, where there is no access.28 Κατοικει επι βραχου και διατριβει, επι αποτομου βραχου και επι αβατων τοπων?
From thence she looketh for the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.29 εκειθεν αναζητει τροφην? οι οφθαλμοι αυτου σκοπευουσι μακροθεν?
Her young ones shall suck up blood : and wheresoever the carcass shall be, she is immediately there.30 και οι νεοσσοι αυτου αιμα πινουσι? και οπου πτωματα, εκει και αυτος.
And the Lord went on, and said to Job :
Shall he that contendeth with God be so easily silenced? surely he that reproveth God, ought to answer him.
Then Job answered the Lord, and said :
One thing I have spoken, which I wish I had not said : and another, to which I will add no more.
