LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Maskil. Di Etan l'ezraita.	1 [Poem For Ethan the native-born] I shal sing the faithful love of Yahweh for ever, from age to age mylips shall declare your constancy,
2 Le tue misericordie, o Signore, voglio cantare senza fine, di generazione in generazione annunzierò la tua fedeltà con la mia bocca.	2 for you have said: love is built to last for ever, you have fixed your constancy firm in the heavens.
3 Poiché tu hai detto: "Per sempre resterà la mia misericordia, come i cieli è in essi la mia fedeltà.	3 'I have made a covenant with my Chosen One, sworn an oath to my servant David:
4 Ho stretto un'alleanza con il mio eletto, ho giurato a Davide, mio servo:	4 I have made your dynasty firm for ever, built your throne stable age after age.'Pause
5 "Stabilirò per sempre la tua discendenza, ti edificherò un trono per tutte le generazioni".	5 The heavens praise your wonders, Yahweh, your constancy in the gathering of your faithful.
6 Signore, i cieli lodino le tue meraviglie, la tua fedeltà nell'assemblea dei santi.	6 Who in the skies can compare with Yahweh? Who among the sons of god can rival him?
7 Poiché, chi è sulle nubi che possa paragonarsi a te, o Signore? Chi è fra i figli di Dio che sia simile al Signore?	7 God, awesome in the assembly of holy ones, great and dreaded among al who surround him,
8 Dio è tremendo nell'adunanza dei santi, grande e terribile fra quelli che lo circondano.	8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, who is like you? Mighty Yahweh, your constancy is al round you!
9 Signore, Dio delle schiere, chi è come te? La tua potenza, o Signore, e la tua fedeltà formano la tua corona.	9 You control the pride of the ocean, when its waves ride high you calm them.
10 Tu domini l'orgoglio del mare, tu plachi il tumulto delle acque.	10 You split Rahab in two like a corpse, scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
11 Tu calpestasti Raab come si calpesta un caduto in battaglia. Con la potenza del tuo braccio disperdesti i tuoi nemici.	11 Yours are the heavens and yours the earth, the world and al it holds, you founded them;
12 Tuoi sono i cieli e tua è la terra, tu fondasti il mondo con quello che esso contiene.	12 you created the north and the south, Tabor and Hermon hail your name with joy.
13 Il settentrione e il mezzogiorno fosti tu a crearli; il Tabor e l'Ermon esultano nel tuo nome.	13 Yours is a strong arm, mighty your hand, your right hand raised high;
14 Potente è il tuo braccio, forte la tua mano, elevata la tua destra.	14 Saving Justice and Fair Judgement the foundations of your throne, Faithful Love and Constancymarch before you.
15 Giustizia e diritto formano la base del tuo trono; misericordia e fedeltà vanno innanzi al tuo volto.	15 How blessed the nation that learns to acclaim you! They will live, Yahweh, in the light of yourpresence.
16 Beato il popolo che ti sa acclamare, che cammina, o Signore, alla luce del tuo volto.	16 In your name they rejoice al day long, by your saving justice they are raised up.
17 Nel tuo nome esulta tutto il giorno, nella tua giustizia egli trova la sua gloria.	17 You are the flower of their strength, by your favour our strength is triumphant;
18 Sì, sei tu la sua splendida forza e nella tua benevolenza tu elevi la nostra fronte.	18 for to Yahweh belongs our shield, to the Holy One of Israel our king.
19 Sì, proprio il Signore è il nostro scudo, e il Santo d'Israele, il nostro re.	19 Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful you said: 'I have given strength to a warrior, I have raisedup a man chosen from my people.
20 Una volta tu parlasti ai tuoi fedeli in visione: "Ho posto il diadema su di un prode, un eletto ho innalzato dal popolo.	20 'I have found David my servant, and anointed him with my holy oil.
21 Ho trovato Davide, mio servo, l'ho consacrato con il mio sacro olio.	21 My hand wil always be with him, my arm wil make him strong.
22 Sì, ferma sarà la mia mano con lui e il mio braccio lo rafforzerà.	22 'No enemy wil be able to outwit him, no wicked man overcome him;
23 Non trionferà il nemico su di lui e un figlio d'iniquità non l'opprimerà.	23 I shal crush his enemies before him, strike his opponents dead.
24 Annienterò davanti a lui i suoi avversari e colpirò quelli che lo odiano.	24 'My constancy and faithful love will be with him, in my name his strength wil be triumphant.
25 La mia fedeltà e la mia misericordia saranno con lui e s'eleverà nel mio nome la sua fronte.	25 I shal establish his power over the sea, his dominion over the rivers.
26 Porrò sul mare la sua mano e sui fiumi la sua destra.	26 'He wil cry to me, "You are my father, my God, the rock of my salvation!"
27 Egli m'invocherà: "Mio padre sei tu, mio Dio, rupe della mia salvezza".	27 So I shal make him my first-born, the highest of earthly kings.
28 E io lo porrò come primogenito, il più alto fra i re della terra.	28 'I shal maintain my faithful love for him always, my covenant with him wil stay firm.
29 Gli consegnerò in eterno la mia grazia e sarà ferma la mia alleanza con lui.	29 I have established his dynasty for ever, his throne to be as lasting as the heavens.
30 E porrò per sempre la sua discendenza e durerà in eterno il suo trono, come i giorni dei cieli.	30 'Should his descendants desert my law, and not keep to my rulings,
31 Se i suoi figli abbandoneranno la mia legge e non seguiranno i miei decreti,	31 should they violate my statutes, and not observe my commandments,
32 se violeranno i miei statuti e non osserveranno i miei precetti,	32 'then I shal punish their offences with the rod, their guilt with the whip,
33 allora punirò con la verga il loro peccato e con i flagelli la loro colpa.	33 but I shal never withdraw from him my faithful love, I shal not belie my constancy.
34 Ma la mia misericordia non ritrarrò mai da loro, né smentirò la mia fedeltà.	34 'I shal not violate my covenant, I shal not withdraw the word once spoken.
35 Non violerò la mia alleanza, né muterò quanto è uscito dalle mie labbra.	35 I have sworn by my holiness, once and for al , never will I break faith with David.
36 Una volta per sempre per la mia santità ho giurato; a Davide, di certo, non mentirò:	36 'His dynasty shal endure for ever, his throne like the sun before me,
37 rimarrà per sempre la sua discendenza e il suo trono come il sole sarà al mio cospetto;	37 as the moon is established for ever, a faithful witness in the skies.'Pause
38 come la luna sarà stabile per sempre, rimarrà immutabile finché durerà il cielo".	38 Yet you yourself -- you have spurned and rejected, and have vented your wrath on your anointed,
39 Ma tu hai respinto e ripudiato... Ti sei sdegnato con il tuo consacrato.	39 you have repudiated the covenant with your servant, dishonoured his crown in the dust.
40 Hai rinnegato il patto del tuo servo, hai profanato nel fango il suo diadema.	40 You have pierced al his defences, and laid his strongholds in ruins,
41 Hai abbattuto tutte le sue mura, hai ridotto in rovine le sue fortezze.	41 everyone passing by plunders him, he has become the butt of his neighbours.
42 Tutti i passanti l'hanno depredato; è diventato uno scherno per i suoi vicini.	42 You have raised high the right hand of his opponents, have made al his enemies happy;
43 Hai fatto trionfare la destra dei suoi avversari; hai fatto giubilare tutti i suoi nemici.	43 you have snapped off his sword on a rock, and failed to support him in battle.
44 Hai fatto ripiegare il taglio della sua spada e nella battaglia non l'hai sostenuto.	44 You have stripped him of his splendid sceptre, and toppled his throne to the ground.
45 Hai posto fine al suo splendore e a terra hai rovesciato il suo trono.	45 You have aged him before his time, enveloped him in shame.Pause
46 Hai accorciato i giorni della sua giovinezza e lo hai coperto di ignominia.	46 How long, Yahweh, will you remain hidden? For ever? Is your anger to go on smouldering like a fire?
47 Fino a quando, o Signore, continuerai a nasconderti? Per sempre brucerà con fuoco la tua ira?	47 Remember me; how long have I left? For what pointless end did you create al the children of Adam?
48 Ricòrdati, o Signore, quanto io sia effimero. Hai creato forse per nulla tutti i figli dell'uomo?	48 Who can live and never see death? Who can save himself from the clutches of Sheol?Pause
49 Qual è quel vivente che non sia soggetto alla morte? Che sia capace di sottrarre la sua anima dal potere degli inferi?	49 Lord, what of those pledges of your faithful love? You made an oath to David by your constancy.
50 Dove sono, o Signore, le tue misericordie d'un tempo, che giurasti a Davide nella tua fedeltà?	50 Do not forget the insults to your servant; I take to heart the taunts of the nations,
51 Ricorda, o Signore, l'ignominia del tuo servo. Porto nel mio seno tutte le contese dei popoli,	51 which your enemies have level ed, Yahweh, have level ed at the footsteps of your anointed!
52 gl'insulti lanciati, o Signore, dai tuoi nemici, lanciati contro i passi del tuo consacrato.	52 Blessed be Yahweh for ever. Amen, Amen.
53 Benedetto il Signore in eterno. Amen! Amen!
