LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Non a noi, Signore, non a noi, ma al tuo nome da' gloria: a motivo della tua misericordia, in ragione della tua fedeltà.	1 Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give the glory, for your faithful love and yourconstancy!
2 Perché dovrebbero dire le genti: "Dov'è il loro Dio?".	2 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?'
3 Il nostro Dio sta nei cieli; egli ha fatto tutto ciò che ha voluto.	3 Our God is in heaven, he creates whatever he chooses.
4 I loro idoli sono argento e oro, opera delle loro mani.	4 They have idols of silver and gold, made by human hands.
5 Hanno bocca e non parlano, hanno occhi e non vedono.	5 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,
6 Hanno orecchi e non odono, hanno narici e non odorano.	6 have ears but hear nothing, have noses but smel nothing.
7 Hanno mani e non palpano, hanno piedi e non camminano, non emettono suoni dalla loro bocca.	7 They have hands but cannot feel, have feet but cannot walk, no sound comes from their throats.
8 Siano come loro quelli che li fabbricano, e chiunque in essi confida.	8 Their makers wil end up like them, and al who rely on them.
9 Confida nel Signore, casa d'Israele: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo	9 House of Israel, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
10 Confida nel Signore, casa di Aronne: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo.	10 House of Aaron, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
11 Confidate nel Signore, voi che lo temete: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo.	11 You who fear Yahweh, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
12 Il Signore s'è ricordato di noi: ci benedirà; benedirà la casa d'Israele, benedirà la casa di Aronne,	12 Yahweh wil keep us in mind, he will bless, he wil bless the House of Israel, he wil bless the Houseof Aaron,
13 benedirà quelli che temono il Signore, i piccoli insieme ai grandi.	13 he wil bless those who fear Yahweh, small and great alike.
14 Vi moltiplichi il Signore, voi e i vostri figli.	14 May Yahweh add to your numbers, yours and your children's too!
15 Siate benedetti dal Signore: egli ha fatto cieli e terra.	15 May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
16 I cieli sono cieli del Signore, ma la terra, l'ha data ai figli dell'uomo.	16 Heaven belongs to Yahweh, but earth he has given to the children of Adam.
17 Non i morti lodano il Signore, né coloro che scendono nel silenzio;	17 The dead cannot praise Yahweh, those who sink into silence,
18 ma noi benediciamo il Signore, ora e sempre! Alleluia.	18 but we, the living, shal bless Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.
