Hebrews 10

1 For the law contains the shadow of future good things, not the very image of these things. So, by the very same sacrifices which they offer ceaselessly each year, they can never cause these to approach perfection.	1 A lei, por ser apenas a sombra dos bens futuros, não sua expressão real, é de todo impotente para aperfeiçoar aqueles que assistem aos sacrifícios que se renovam indefinidamente cada ano.
2 Otherwise, they would have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, once cleansed, would no longer be conscious of any sin.	2 Realmente, se os fiéis, uma vez purificados, não tivessem mais pecado algum na consciência, não teriam cessado de oferecê-los?
3 Instead, in these things, a commemoration of sins is made every year.	3 Pelo contrário, pelos sacrifícios se renova cada ano a memória dos pecados.
4 For it is impossible for sins to be taken away by the blood of oxen and goats.	4 Pois é impossível que o sangue de touros e de carneiros tire pecados.
5 For this reason, as Christ enters into the world, he says: “Sacrifice and oblation, you did not want. But you have fashioned a body for me.	5 Eis por que, ao entrar no mundo, Cristo diz: Não quiseste sacrifício nem oblação, mas me formaste um corpo.
6 Holocausts for sin were not pleasing to you.	6 Holocaustos e sacrifícios pelo pecado não te agradam.
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I draw near.’ At the head of the book, it has been written of me that I should do your will, O God.”	7 Então eu disse: Eis que venho {porque é de mim que está escrito no rolo do livro}, venho, ó Deus, para fazer a tua vontade {Sl 39,7ss}.
8 In the above, by saying, “Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin, you did not want, nor are those things pleasing to you, which are offered according to the law;	8 Disse primeiro: Tu não quiseste, tu não recebeste com agrado os sacrifícios nem as ofertas, nem os holocaustos, nem as vítimas pelo pecado {quer dizer, as imolações legais}.
9 then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,’ ” he takes away the first, so that he may establish what follows.	9 Em seguida, ajuntou: Eis que venho para fazer a tua vontade. Assim, aboliu o antigo regime e estabeleceu uma nova economia.
10 For by this will, we have been sanctified, through the one time oblation of the body of Jesus Christ.	10 Foi em virtude desta vontade de Deus que temos sido santificados uma vez para sempre, pela oblação do corpo de Jesus Cristo.
11 And certainly, every priest stands by, ministering daily, and frequently offering the same sacrifices, which are never able to take away sins.	11 Enquanto todo sacerdote se ocupa diariamente com o seu ministério e repete inúmeras vezes os mesmos sacrifícios que, todavia, não conseguem apagar os pecados,
12 But this man, offering one sacrifice for sins, sits at the right hand of God forever,	12 Cristo ofereceu pelos pecados um único sacrifício e logo em seguida tomou lugar para sempre à direita de Deus,
13 awaiting that time when his enemies will be made his footstool.	13 onde espera de ora em diante que os seus inimigos sejam postos por escabelo dos seus pés {Sl 109,1}.
14 For, by one oblation, he has brought to fulfillment, for all time, those who are sanctified.	14 Por uma só oblação ele realizou a perfeição definitiva daqueles que recebem a santificação.
15 Now the Holy Spirit also testifies for us about this. For afterward, he said:	15 É o que nos confirma o testemunho do Espírito Santo. Depois de ter dito:
16 “And this is the testament which I will commit to them after those days, says the Lord. I will instill my laws in their hearts, and I will inscribe my laws on their minds.	16 Eis a aliança que, depois daqueles dias, farei com eles - oráculo do Senhor: imprimirei as minhas leis nos seus corações e as escreverei no seu espírito,
17 And I will no longer remember their sins and iniquities.”	17 acrescenta: dos seus pecados e das suas iniqüidades já não mais me lembrarei {Jr 31,33s}.
18 Now, when there is a remission of these things, there is no longer an oblation for sin.	18 Ora, onde houve plena remissão dos pecados não há por que oferecer sacrifício por eles.
19 And so, brothers, have faith in the entrance into the Holy of Holies by the blood of Christ,	19 Por esse motivo, irmãos, temos ampla confiança de poder entrar no santuário eterno, em virtude do sangue de Jesus,
20 and in the new and living Way, which he has initiated for us by the veil, that is, by his flesh,	20 pelo caminho novo e vivo que nos abriu através do véu, isto é, o caminho de seu próprio corpo.
21 and in the Great Priest over the house of God.	21 E dado que temos um Sumo-sacerdote estabelecido sobre a casa de Deus,
22 So, let us draw near with a true heart, in the fullness of faith, having hearts cleansed from an evil conscience, and bodies absolved with clean water.	22 acheguemo-nos a ele com coração sincero, com plena firmeza da fé, o mais íntimo da alma isento de toda mácula de pecado e o corpo lavado com a água purificadora {do batismo}.
23 Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope, without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.	23 Conservemo-nos firmemente apegados à nossa esperança, porque é fiel aquele cuja promessa aguardamos.
24 And let us be considerate of one another, so as to prompt ourselves to charity and to good works,	24 Olhemos uns pelos outros para estímulo à caridade e às boas obras.
25 not deserting our assembly, as some are accustomed to do, but consoling one another, and even more so as you see that the day is approaching.	25 Não abandonemos a nossa assembléia, como é costume de alguns, mas admoestemo-nos mutuamente, e tanto mais quando vedes aproximar-se o Grande Dia.
26 For if we sin willingly, after receiving knowledge of the truth, there is no sacrifice remaining for sins,	26 Depois de termos recebido e conhecido a verdade, se a abandonarmos voluntariamente, já não haverá sacrifício para expiar este pecado.
27 but instead, a certain terrible expectation of judgment, and the rage of a fire that shall consume its adversaries.	27 Só teremos que esperar um juízo tremendo e o fogo ardente que há de devorar os rebeldes.
28 If someone dies for acting against the law of Moses, and is shown no compassion because of two or three witnesses,	28 Se alguém transgredir a Lei de Moisés - e isto provado com duas ou três testemunhas -, deverá ser morto sem misericórdia.
29 how much more, do you think, someone would deserve worse punishments, if he has tread upon the Son of God, and has treated the blood of the testament, by which he was sanctified, as unclean, and has acted with disgrace toward the Spirit of grace?	29 Quanto pior castigo julgais que merece quem calcar aos pés o Filho de Deus, profanar o sangue da aliança, em que foi santificado, e ultrajar o Espírito Santo, autor da graça!
30 For we know that he has said: “Vengeance is mine, and I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”	30 Pois bem sabemos quem é que disse: Minha é a vingança; eu a exercerei {Dt 32,35}. E ainda: O Senhor julgará o seu povo {Sl 134,14}.
31 It is dreadful to fall into the hands of the living God.	31 É horrendo cair nas mãos de Deus vivo.
32 But call to mind the former days, in which, after being enlightened, you endured a great struggle of afflictions.	32 Lembrai-vos dos dias de outrora, logo que fostes iluminados. Quão longas e dolorosas lutas sustentastes.
33 And certainly, in one way, by insults and tribulations, you were made a spectacle, but in another way, you became the companions of those who were the object of such behavior.	33 Seja tornando-vos alvo de toda espécie de opróbrios e humilhações, seja tomando moralmente parte nos sofrimentos daqueles que os tiveram que suportar.
34 For you even had compassion on those who were imprisoned, and you accepted with gladness being deprived of your goods, knowing that you have a better and more lasting substance.	34 Não só vos compadecestes dos encarcerados, mas aceitastes com alegria a confiscação dos vossos bens, pela certeza de possuirdes riquezas muito melhores e imperecíveis.
35 And so, do not lose your confidence, which has a great reward.	35 Não percais esta convicção a que está vinculada uma grande recompensa,
36 For it is necessary for you to be patient, so that, by doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.	36 pois vos é necessária a perseverança para fazerdes a vontade de Deus e alcançardes os bens prometidos.
37 “For, in a little while, and somewhat longer, he who is to come will return, and he will not delay.	37 Ainda um pouco de tempo - sem dúvida, bem pouco -, e o que há de vir virá e não tardará.
38 For my just man lives by faith. But if he were to draw himself back, he would not please my soul.”	38 Meu justo viverá da fé. Porém, se ele desfalecer, meu coração já não se agradará dele {Hab 2,3s}.
39 So then, we are not sons who are drawn away to perdition, but we are sons of faith toward the securing of the soul.	39 Não somos, absolutamente, de perder o ânimo para nossa ruína; somos de manter a fé, para nossa salvação!
