Hebrews 10

1 For the law contains the shadow of future good things, not the very image of these things. So, by the very same sacrifices which they offer ceaselessly each year, they can never cause these to approach perfection.	1 - La Legge non avendo che un'ombra dei beni futuri, e non l'immagine essa stessa delle cose, non può mai, pur con codesti sacrifizi, sempre gli stessi anno per anno che perpetuamente offrono, condurre alla perfezione quei che accedono [all'altare].
2 Otherwise, they would have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, once cleansed, would no longer be conscious of any sin.	2 Altrimenti, non avrebbero essi cessato dall'essere offerti, dato che quei che rendono questo culto, una volta purificati, non avrebbero più alcuna coscienza dei loro peccati?
3 Instead, in these things, a commemoration of sins is made every year.	3 Invece per tali sacrifici il ricordo dei peccati d'anno in anno si rinnova,
4 For it is impossible for sins to be taken away by the blood of oxen and goats.	4 poichè è impossibile che sangue di tori e di capri tolga le colpe.
5 For this reason, as Christ enters into the world, he says: “Sacrifice and oblation, you did not want. But you have fashioned a body for me.	5 Ecco perchè, entrando nel mondo, [dice Cristo]: «Tu non hai voluto sacrifizio nè offerta, ma mi hai preparato un corpo;
6 Holocausts for sin were not pleasing to you.	6 olocausto anche per il peccato tu non gradisti:
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I draw near.’ At the head of the book, it has been written of me that I should do your will, O God.”	7 allora dissi: - Ecco io vengo - (giacchè di me si parla nel rotolo del libro) - per compiere, o Dio, la tua volontà -».
8 In the above, by saying, “Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin, you did not want, nor are those things pleasing to you, which are offered according to the law;	8 Avendo detto prima: «Non hai voluto nè gradito sacrifizi e offerte e olocausti per il peccato» e son le offerte secondo la legge;
9 then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,’ ” he takes away the first, so that he may establish what follows.	9 appresso disse: «Ecco, io vengo a fare la tua volontà», annulla quel di prima perchè rimanga in piedi il secondo punto.
10 For by this will, we have been sanctified, through the one time oblation of the body of Jesus Christ.	10 E in questa volontà noi siamo stati santificati per l'offerta del corpo di Gesù Cristo, una volta per sempre.
11 And certainly, every priest stands by, ministering daily, and frequently offering the same sacrifices, which are never able to take away sins.	11 Ed ogni sacerdote sta su ogni giorno per il servizio di culto, e offre tante volte gli stessi sacrifizi, i quali non possono mai levar di mezzo il peccato.
12 But this man, offering one sacrifice for sins, sits at the right hand of God forever,	12 Questi offrendo unico sacrifizio per i peccati, si assise per sempre alla destra di Dio,
13 awaiting that time when his enemies will be made his footstool.	13 attendendo oramai che i suoi nemici siano posti «come sgabello de' suoi piedi».
14 For, by one oblation, he has brought to fulfillment, for all time, those who are sanctified.	14 Poichè con una unica offerta ha perfezionato per sempre quelli che son santificati.
15 Now the Holy Spirit also testifies for us about this. For afterward, he said:	15 A noi lo attesta anche lo Spirito Santo; chè dopo aver detto:
16 “And this is the testament which I will commit to them after those days, says the Lord. I will instill my laws in their hearts, and I will inscribe my laws on their minds.	16 «Questo è il patto che io patteggerò con loro dopo quei giorni, dice il Signore; mettendo le mie leggi nei loro cuori e le scriverò nel loro pensiero,
17 And I will no longer remember their sins and iniquities.”	17 e dei loro peccati e delle iniquità loro io non più mi ricorderò».
18 Now, when there is a remission of these things, there is no longer an oblation for sin.	18 Or dov'è remissione dei peccati, non v'è più offerta per il peccato.
19 And so, brothers, have faith in the entrance into the Holy of Holies by the blood of Christ,	19 Avendo dunque, o fratelli, in virtù del sangue di Gesù, piena facoltà d'ingresso nel Santuario
20 and in the new and living Way, which he has initiated for us by the veil, that is, by his flesh,	20 per quella via nuova e vivente che egli inaugurò per noi a traverso il tendone, cioè traverso la carne sua,
21 and in the Great Priest over the house of God.	21 e avendo un grande Sacerdote sulla casa di Dio,
22 So, let us draw near with a true heart, in the fullness of faith, having hearts cleansed from an evil conscience, and bodies absolved with clean water.	22 accostiamoci con cuore sincero, in pienezza di fede, purificati i cuori da ogni mala coscienza, e lavati il corpo con acqua pura;
23 Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope, without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.	23 manteniamo ferma la professione della nostra speranza poichè fedele è Chi ha promesso;
24 And let us be considerate of one another, so as to prompt ourselves to charity and to good works,	24 e a vicenda usiamoci vigilanza per eccitarci all'amore e alle opere buone,
25 not deserting our assembly, as some are accustomed to do, but consoling one another, and even more so as you see that the day is approaching.	25 non abbandonando le nostre adunanze, com'è costume di fare per alcuni, ma esortandoci, tanto più in quanto vedete che s'avvicina il giorno.
26 For if we sin willingly, after receiving knowledge of the truth, there is no sacrifice remaining for sins,	26 Poichè se volontariamente manchiamo dopo aver avuto la notizia della verità, non riman più alcun sacrifizio per i peccati,
27 but instead, a certain terrible expectation of judgment, and the rage of a fire that shall consume its adversaries.	27 e vi sarà una terribile attesa di giudizio, e la vampa d'un fuoco che sarà per divorare i ribelli.
28 If someone dies for acting against the law of Moses, and is shown no compassion because of two or three witnesses,	28 Uno che abbia violato la legge di Mosè, senza pietà, in forza di due o tre testimonianze, muore;
29 how much more, do you think, someone would deserve worse punishments, if he has tread upon the Son of God, and has treated the blood of the testament, by which he was sanctified, as unclean, and has acted with disgrace toward the Spirit of grace?	29 di quanto più severo castigo pensate sarà per esser giudicato degno chi si sarà messo sotto i piedi il figlio di Dio, e avrà stimato vile il sangue del patto nel quale fu santificato, e avrà oltraggiato lo spirito della grazia?
30 For we know that he has said: “Vengeance is mine, and I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”	30 Sappiam bene chi ha detto: «A me la vendetta, io ripagherò!»; e di nuovo: «Il Signore giudicherà il suo popolo!».
31 It is dreadful to fall into the hands of the living God.	31 È terribile il cadere nelle mani del Dio vivente.
32 But call to mind the former days, in which, after being enlightened, you endured a great struggle of afflictions.	32 Richiamate alla memoria i giorni di prima, in cui dopo essere stati illuminati, doveste tollerare grande lotta di sofferenze,
33 And certainly, in one way, by insults and tribulations, you were made a spectacle, but in another way, you became the companions of those who were the object of such behavior.	33 da una parte esposti come a spettacolo a oltraggi e tribolazioni, dall'altra accomunandovi voi con quelli che così erano maltrattati.
34 For you even had compassion on those who were imprisoned, and you accepted with gladness being deprived of your goods, knowing that you have a better and more lasting substance.	34 E difatti voi soffriste insieme coi carcerati e la confisca delle vostre sostanze accoglieste con gioia, sapendo di avere per voi una ricchezza migliore e durevole.
35 And so, do not lose your confidence, which has a great reward.	35 Non rinunziate dunque alla vostra ferma fiducia, la quale ha una sicura ricompensa.
36 For it is necessary for you to be patient, so that, by doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.	36 Poichè di costanza avete bisogno, affinchè facendo la volontà di Dio possiate conseguire la promessa.
37 “For, in a little while, and somewhat longer, he who is to come will return, and he will not delay.	37 Poichè ancora «un po' di tempo, poco dopo; e chi viene verrà e non tarderà;
38 For my just man lives by faith. But if he were to draw himself back, he would not please my soul.”	38 e il giusto mio vivrà per la fede; ma se indietreggia, non ha gradimento in lui l'anima mia».
39 So then, we are not sons who are drawn away to perdition, but we are sons of faith toward the securing of the soul.	39 Ma noi non siamo quei della ritirata che porta alla perdizione, bensì della fede per la salvezza dell'anima.
