EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Una penosa tarea ha sido impuesta a todo hombre y un yugo pesado agobia a los hijos de Adán, desde el día que salen del vientre materno, hasta el día que retornan a la madre común.	1 A hard lot has been created for human beings, a heavy yoke lies on the children of Adam from the daythey come out of their mother's womb, till the day they return to the mother of them al .
2 Les da mucho que pensar y los llena de temor la ansiosa expectativa del día de la muerte.	2 What fills them with foreboding and their hearts with fear is dread of the day of death.
3 Desde el que está sentado en un trono glorioso hasta el humillado en el polvo y la ceniza;	3 From the one who sits on a glorious throne to the wretch in dust and ashes,
4 desde el que lleva púrpura y corona hasta el que va vestido miserablemente, sólo sienten rabia y envidia, turbación e inquietud, miedo a la muerte, resentimiento y rivalidad;	4 from the one who wears purple and a crown to the one dressed in sacking, al is fury and jealousy,turmoil and unrest, fear of death, rivalry, strife.

With fear of theLord, nothing is lacking: no need to seek for other help.
27 El temor del Señor es como un vergel exuberante, y protege más que cualquier gloria.	27 Fear of the Lord is a paradise of blessing, a better protection than the highest reputation.
28 Hijo mío, no vivas de la mendicidad, porque más vale morir que mendigar.	28 My child, do not live by sponging off others, better be dead than be a sponger.
29 No merece llamarse vida la del que está pendiente de la mesa de otro. El mancha su boca con comida ajena, y el hombre instruido y bien educado se cuida de hacerlo.	29 A life spent in eyeing someone else's table cannot be accounted a life at al . 30 En boca del desvergonzado la mendicidad es dulce, pero en sus entrañas será fuego ardiente.	30 What a sponger says may sound very sweet but in his bel y there burns a fire.
