Seconda Epistola di Santo Paulo alli Tessalonicesi 3

1 Da ora inanzi orate per noi, fratelli, acciò che la parola di Dio corra, e sia palesata in ogni parte, secondo ch' è appo voi,	1 Concerning other things, brothers, pray for us, so that the Word of God may advance and be glorified, just as it is among you,
2 e che siamo liberati dalli importuni e dai malvagi; chè la fede non è di tutti.	2 and so that we may be freed from pertinacious and evil men. For not everyone is faithful.
3 Ma Dio è fedele, il quale confermerà voi, e guarderà voi dal male.	3 But God is faithful. He will strengthen you, and he will guard you from evil.
4 (Fratelli), noi sì confidiamo di voi nel Signore; chè quelle cose, le quali comandammo, voi le fate e farete.	4 And we have confidence about you in the Lord, that you are doing, and will continue to do, just as we have instructed.
5 Il Signore dirizzi li vostri cuori nella carità di Dio e nella pazienza di Cristo.	5 And may the Lord direct your hearts, in the charity of God and with the patience of Christ.
6 Denunziamo a voi, fratelli, nel nome del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo, che non abbiate usanza con quelli fratelli li quali vanno disordinatamente, e non secondo l'ordinazione la quale ricevettono da noi.	6 But we strongly caution you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to draw yourselves away from every brother who is walking in disorder and not according to the tradition that they received from us.
7 Chè voi medesimi sapete in che guisa vi convenga seguitare noi; chè noi non fummo travagliosi intra voi, e senza quiete.	7 For you yourselves know the manner in which you ought to imitate us. For we were not disorderly among you.
8 E non mangiammo pane d' alcuno senza prego, che non lo servissimo; anzi fummo la notte e il dì in lavorio e in fatica (lavorando), perchè non volevamo gravare alcuno di voi.	8 Nor did we eat bread from anyone for free, but rather, we worked night and day, in hardship and weariness, so as not to be burdensome to you.
9 E questo facemmo [non] perchè noi non avessimo signoria (di prendere delle vostre cose), ma per dare buono esempio a voi, e perchè voi andaste per la nostra via.	9 It was not as if we had no authority, but this was so that we might present ourselves as an example to you, in order to imitate us.
10 Certamente, quando noi eravamo con voi, questa cosa vi denunziammo, che quelli che non vuole lavorare, non manduchi.	10 Then, too, while we were with you, we insisted on this to you: that if anyone was not willing to work, neither should he eat.
11 Chè noi udimmo che son alquanti intra voi, li quali stanno in riposo, e non adoperano niente, anzi vanno vagando.	11 For we have heard that there are some among you who act disruptively, not working at all, but eagerly meddling.
12 A coloro che son di questa fatta comandiamo, e preghiamo nel Signore Iesù Cristo, che con silenzio lavorando, manuchino il loro pane.	12 Now we charge those who act in this way, and we beg them in the Lord Jesus Christ, that they work in silence and eat their own bread.
13 Ma voi, fratelli, non vi stancate di ben fare (per amore del Signore Iesù Cristo).	13 And you, brothers, do not grow weak in doing good.
14 E se tanto è che alcuno non obbedirà alla parola della epistola nostra, guardatevi di non avere usanza [con] quello, acciò che si vergogni.	14 But if anyone does not obey our word by this epistle, take note of him and do not keep company with him, so that he may be ashamed.
15 Ma non voglio che il tegniate per vostro nemico; anzi il castigate come fratello.	15 But do not be willing to consider him as an enemy; instead, correct him as a brother.
16 E quelli ch' è Dio di tutta pietà, dia a voi pace sempiterna in ogni luogo. Il Signore Dio sia. con tutti voi, (e la grazia del Signore nostro Iesù Cristo permanga con tutti voi).	16 Then may the Lord of peace himself give you an everlasting peace, in every place. May the Lord be with all of you.
17 Questa è la salutazione con la mia mano di Paulo; la qual cosa è segno in ogni epistola; così scrivo.	17 The greeting of Paul with my own hand, which is the seal in every epistle. So do I write.
18 Sia con tutti voi la grazia del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo. Amen.	18 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
