Deuteronomio 12

1 Questi sono li comandamenti e li giudicii, li quali voi dovete fare (e servare) nella terra la quale Iddio, Signore de' vostri padri, ti dee dare acciò che tu la possegghi (e abiti) tutti quanti i dì che tu anderai sopra la terra (cioè tutti i dì della tua vita).	1 “These are the precepts and judgments which you must do in the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, will give to you, so that you may possess it during all the days that you shall walk upon the soil.
2 Fate che voi cacciate a terra (e disfacciate) tutti quanti i luoghi, ne' quali adorarono tutte queste genti (e nazioni) le quali tu dei possedere (e soggio gare, ancora) i loro idii i quali sono in sul monte altissimo e colli grandi; e sovvertite tutti li arbori frondosi (ch’ hanno molte foglie e rami).	2 Overturn all the places where the nations, which you will possess, worshipped their gods on lofty mountains, and on hills, and under every leafy tree.
3 Guastate e disfate tutti i loro altari, e rompete le loro statue, e col fuoco ardete i loro luoghi (cioè certi luoghi oscuri e senza lume, dove accendevano le lampade per reverenza a' loro idii), e i loro idoli spezzate (e tutti gli disfate); cacciate e ispegnete tutti i loro nomi di quelli luoghi.	3 Scatter their altars and break their statues. Burn their sacred groves with fire and crush their idols. Abolish their names from those places.
4 Ma non farete così a Dio vostro Signore.	4 But you shall not do the same to the Lord your God.
5 Ma al luogo, il quale elesse il vostro Signore Iddio, di tutte quante le vostre schiatte, per (potere) ponere quivi il suo nome (cioè dove egli vorrà che l'adoriate e sacrifichiate, per ponere quivi il suo nome, cioè dove vorrà che voi adoriate lui) e che abiti quivi, sì verrete;	5 Instead, you shall approach the place which the Lord your God will choose among all your tribes, so that he may set his name there, and may dwell in that place.
6 e offerrete li vostri sacrificii e li vostri olocausti, e le decime e le prime cose delle vostre mani, (e di pecore e di capre e d'altre cose che sono espresse nella legge; secondo che aveano e possedeano, tutte le prime cose che nascevano sì doveano essere di Dio, come dice, ciò sono) i voti e i doni, e i primigeniti de' buoi e delle pecore.	6 And you shall offer, in that place, your holocausts and victims, the tithes and first-fruits of your hands, and your vows and gifts, the firstborn of the cattle and of the sheep.
7 E quivi sì le manicherete dinanzi a Dio (cioè in quel luogo il quale egli eleggerà); e sì vi darete diletto in tutte quelle cose nelle quali voi porrete le vostre mani, [voi] e le vostre case, nelle quali vi benedicerà Iddio vostro Signore.	7 And you shall eat it there, in the sight of the Lord your God. And you shall rejoice in all the things to which you shall set your hand: you and your household, which the Lord your God has blessed for you.
8 Non farete quivi (cioè in quello luogo) come noi facciamo qui oggi, però che ciascuno sì fa quello che gli piace di fare.	8 You shall not do there the things that we are doing here today: each one doing what seems good to himself.
9 Imperciò che insino al tempo presente non siete venuti al riposo e alla possessione, la quale Iddio tuo Signore ti dee dare.	9 For even until the present time, you did not arrive at the rest and the possession, which the Lord your God will give to you.
10 Voi passerete il (fiume) Giordano, e abiterete nella terra la quale Iddio vostro Signore vi dee dare, acciò che voi vi riposiate da tutti i vostri nemici i quali avete d'intorno (cioè che non vi possano mo lestare nè dare briga), e senza paura alcuna abitiate	10 You shall cross over the Jordan, and you shall live in the land which the Lord your God will give to you, so that you may have rest from all the surrounding enemies, and so that you may live without any fear,
11 (e istiate) nel luogo il quale eleggerà Iddio, vostro Signore, acciò che sia quivi il suo nome; quivi tutte le cose ch' io vi comandai darete, (e fa rete) olocausti e ostie, le decime e le (vostre) primizie delle vostre mani, e tutto quello che è singolare e ispeciale nelli doni delli quali faceste voto a Dio.	11 in the place which the Lord your God will choose, so that his name may be in it. To that place, you shall bring all the things that I instruct you: holocausts, and victims, and tithes, and the first-fruits of your hands, and whatever is best among the gifts that you shall vow to the Lord.
12 Quivi mangerete, dinanzi a Dio vostro Signore, [voi] e i vostri figliuoli e le vostre figliuole, le serve e li servi vostri, e quelli Leviti (cioè della schiatta di Levi) i quali abitano nelle vostre cittadi, nè altra parte nè altra possessione hanno nè (rendita) tra voi.	12 In that place, you shall feast before the Lord your God: you, and your sons and daughters, your men and women servants, as well as the Levite who dwells in your cities. For he has no other portion or possession among you.
13 Guarda che tu non offeri a Dio li tuoi sacrificii in ogni luogo che tu vederai.	13 Take care that you do not offer your holocausts in any place that you see.
14 Ma in quello luogo, che Iddio eleggerà (e vorrà) tra una delle schiatte tue, quivi offerrai i sacrificii (e li olocausti e le tue offerte), e farai ciò ch' io ti comando.	14 Instead, you shall offer sacrifices in the place which the Lord will choose within one of your tribes, and you shall do whatsoever I instruct you.
15 E se tu pur vorrai manicare, e avrai di letto del tuo mangiare, cioè della carne, uccidi e mangia secondo la benedizione di Dio tuo Signore, la quale egli ti diede nelle cittadi tue, o immondo cioè che abbia macchia (cioè di molti colori, quello si chiama immondo) ovvero mondo e netto (i quali primi immondi e li deboli era lecito d'offerire, come si solea offerire); la capra e ancora il cervio manicherai,	15 So, if you wish to eat, and if the eating of flesh pleases you, then kill and eat according to the blessing of the Lord your God, which he has given to you, in your cities: you may eat it whether it is unclean, that is, having blemish or defect, or whether it is clean, that is, whole and without blemish, of the kind which is permitted to be offered, such as the roe deer and the stag.
16 senza manicare il sangue, il quale getterai in terra, come l'acqua.	16 Only the blood you shall not eat. Instead, you shall pour it upon the ground like water.
17 Tu non potrai (e non ti sarà lecito di) mangiare ne' castegli tuoi, né le decime del vino e del grano e dell' olio tuo, nè le primizie degli armenti e delle pecore tue, e tutte quelle cose le quali avrai fatto voto e che per tua propria volontà vorrai offerre, e anche le primizie delle tue mani (cioè quello che con esse la vori).	17 You may not eat in your towns the tithes of your crops, and your wine and oil, the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, nor anything which you will vow, or which you will offer spontaneously, nor the first-fruits of your hands.
18 Ma dinanzi a Dio, tuo Signore, le mangerai in quello luogo il quale Iddio eleggerà (e vorrà), tu e il tuo figliuolo e la tua figliuola, e' l servo tuo e la serva tua, e quelli che sono della schiatta di Levi, i quali abitano dentro alle tue cittadi. E sì tu ti di letterai, e confortera'ti (e mangerai) dinanzi a Dio tuo Signore, in tutte quelle cose dove porrai le tue mani.	18 But you shall eat these before the Lord your God, in the place which the Lord your God will choose: you, and your son, and your daughter, and your man servant and woman servant, and the Levite who dwells in your cities. And you shall rejoice and be refreshed in the sight of the Lord your God by all the things to which you will extend your hand.
19 Ma guarda che tu non abbandoni quello il quale è della schiatta di Levi (cioè de' preti) in tutto quanto il tempo nel quale usi sopra la terra (cioè in tutta la vita tua).	19 Be careful, lest you abandon the Levite, at anytime while you are living in the land.
20 E quando Iddio tuo Signore avrà allargati (i termini e) li tuoi confini, siccome egli ti parlo, e tu vorrai manicare delle carni le quali desidera l'anima tua,	20 When the Lord your God will have enlarged your borders, just as he has spoken to you, and when you would eat the flesh that your soul desires,
21 il luogo il quale eleggerà Iddio, tuo Signore, aciò che quivi sia il suo nome, se sarà da lungi, ucciderai dello bestiame delli tuoi armenti (come ti piace) come io ti comando; e sì le manicherai nelle tue castelle, siccome ti piace.	21 but if the place which the Lord your God will choose, so that his name may be there, is far away, you may kill, from your herds and your flocks which you will have, in the manner I have instructed to you, and you may eat in your towns, as it pleases you.
22 Sì come si mangia la capra e il cervio, così ti sarà lecito di mangiare di quelle carni, o mondo o immondo che sieno (cioè senza macula, ovvero con macula di diversi colori, ovvero debili); e questi mangerai in luogo comune (e palese).	22 Just as the roe deer and the stag may be eaten, so also may you eat these: you may eat both the clean and the unclean alike.
23 Guàrdati da questo solo, cioè che (tu di questa carne) non manuchi con sangue; imperciò che il sangue loro si è per l'anima; e però non dèi tu manicare l'anima colla carne,	23 Only beware of this: you may not eat the blood. For their blood is for the soul. And because of this, you must not eat the soul with the flesh.
24 ma gittala in terra, siccome si gitta l'acqua,	24 Instead, you shall pour it upon the ground like water,
25 acciò che tu abbia bene, ei figliuoli tuoi dopo te (sempre mai), quando averai fatto quello che piace (ed è accetto) dinanzi a Dio.	25 so that it may be well with you, and with your sons after you, when you will do what is pleasing in the sight of the Lord.
26 Tutte quelle cose che tu santificherai, e di che farete voto a Dio, torra'le; e verrai al luogo che Iddio eleggerà;	26 But the things that you have sanctified and vowed to the Lord, you shall take up and bring to the place which the Lord will choose.
27 e sì farai le tue offerte, la carne e il sangue, sopra l'altare di Dio tuo Signore; il sangue dell' ostie getterai in su l'altare, e le carni sì ti manicherai.	27 And you shall offer your oblations of flesh and of blood upon the altar of the Lord your God. You shall poor out the blood of your victims upon the altar. And you yourself shall eat the flesh.
28 Serva e guarda tutte le parole ch' io ti comando, acciò che sia bene a te e a' tuoi figliuoli sempre mai, quando tu averai fatto tutto quello che è buono e accetto dinanzi da Dio tuo Signore.	28 Observe and heed all the things that I instruct to you, so that it may be well with you, and with your sons after you, continually, when you will do what is good and pleasing in the sight of the Lord your God.
29 Quando Iddio, tuo Signore, avrà cacciato e ispento dinanzi dalla faccia tua tutte le genti alle quali tu anderai a possedere, e possederai e abiterai nella terra loro,	29 When the Lord your God will have abolished before your face the nations, which you shall enter so as to possess them, and when you will possess them and live in their land,
30 guarda che tu non le sèguiti (nè vadi dopo loro) poi che entrando tu saranno disfatte, e vadi cercando le loro osservanze, e dichi: come queste genti adorarono i loro idii, così gli adorerò io.	30 be careful that you do not imitate them, after they have been overturned at your arrival, and that you do not seek their ceremonies, saying: ‘Just as these nations have worshipped their gods, so also will I worship.’
31 E guarda che non facci somigliantemente al tuo Signore; imperciò che tutte quante le abbomi nazioni, le quali Iddio hae in odio, sì feceno costoro ai loro idii, offerendo li loro figliuoli e le loro figliuole, e ardendole col fuoco.	31 You shall not act in like manner toward the Lord your God. For they have done to their gods all the abominations that the Lord spurns, offering their sons and daughters, and burning them with fire.
32 Tutto quanto quello ch' io ti comando (oggi) solamente fa a Dio, e non ci aggiugnere nè minuere alcuna cosa.	32 What I command to you, this only shall you do, for the Lord. You may neither add nor subtract anything.”
