Isaia 47

BIBBIA VOLGARE	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Scendi giuso, e siedi nella polvere, o tu vergine figliuola di Babilonia, e mangia in terra; e non si è sedia alla figliuola de' Caldei, però che non sarai chiamata più morbida e tenera.	1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
2 Togli la macina, e macina la farina; iscopri la tua vergogna, iscopri l'omero, e manifesta la gamba, e passa li fiumi.	2 Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.
3 E sarà veduta la tua vergogna, e sarà veduto lo tuo vitupero; e piglieronne vendetta, e nessuno potrà (contrastare nè) resistere a me.	3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and I will not meet thee as a man.
4 Lo nostro ricomperatore sì ha nome (lo) Signore delli esèrciti, e santo d' Israel.	4 As for our redeemer, the LORD of hosts is his name, the Holy One of Israel.
5 Siedi e taci, figliuola de' Caldei; entra nella tenebre; però che non sarai chiamata più donna de' reami.	5 Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms.
6 Io sono adirato sopra il populo mio, e contaminai la mia ereditade, e puosili nella tua mano; e non ponesti loro le misericordie, e gravasti sopra lo vecchio molto forte lo tuo giogo.	6 I was wroth with my people, I have polluted mine inheritance, and given them into thine hand: thou didst shew them no mercy; upon the ancient hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
7 E io, dicesti, sarò signora in sempiterno. Tu non hai poste queste cose sopra lo tuo cuore, e non ti se' ricordata del tuo fine.	7 And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
8 E ora adunque odi queste cose, tu dilicata che abiti a fidanza, la quale dici nel tuo cuore: io sono, e niuno è sanza me; io non istarò vedova, e non sarò sterile (cioè sanza figliuoli).	8 Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
9 A te verranno queste due cose subitamente in uno dì, cioè lo vedovatico e la sterilitade (cioè che non farai figliuoli): tutte le cose sono venute sopra te per la moltitudine de' tuoi maleficii, e per la veemente durezza de' tuoi incantatori.	9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, and for the great abundance of thine enchantments.
10 E tu avesti fidanza nella tua malizia, e di. cesti: non è chi [mi] vegga. La tua scienza e la tua sapienza, questa è quella che ha ingannato te. E dicesti nel tuo cuore: io sono, e non è altra sanza me.	10 For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me.
11 Lo male verrà sopra te, e non saprai lo suo nascimento; e la miseria (verrà e) ruinerà sopra te, la quale tu non potrai scacciare; sopra te verrà la miseria, la quale tu non sai.	11 Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from whence it riseth: and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and desolation shall come upon thee suddenly, which thou shalt not know.
12 Sta colli tuoi incantatori, e con la moltitudine de' tuoi maleficii, nelli quali tu durasti fatica dalla tua gioventudine, se forse ti giovasse in alcuna cosa, ovvero sì potessi essere fatta più forte.	12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
13 Tu mancasti nella moltitudine de' tuoi consigli; stiano, e salvino te li indovini del cielo, li quali contemplavano le stelle, e computavano li mesi, acciò che loro annunciassono per quelli à te le cose che debbono venire.	13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
14 Ecco che sono fatti (a te) quasi come uno filo di legne secche, lo fuoco li arse; non liberarono l'anime loro della mano della fiamma; e non vi sono carboni (ovvero bracia accesa) con quali loro si scaldino, e non è fuoco che possano sedere intorno a quello.	14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
15 E così è fatto a te in qualunque cosa tu faticasti; e li tuoi mercatanti dalla loro giovinezza ciascuno avea errato nella sua via; e non è chi faccia salute.	15 Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, even thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander every one to his quarter; none shall save thee.
