1 E disse lo Signore tutte queste cose in parole a Moisè, dicendo:	1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 Io sono lo Signore Iddio tuo, il quale trassite della terra d'Egitto, e della casa della servitù.	2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Non averai altri Iddii innanzi a me.	3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Non farai a te intagliatura, e niuna similitudine la quale è in cielo di sopra, nè di quelle che sono nella terra di sotto, nè di quelle che sono nell'acque sotto la terra.	4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Non adorerai quelle cose, nè coltiverai. In verità io sono lo Signore Iddio tuo, forte ed amatore; il quale visito le iniquitadi dei padri nelli figliuoli loro insino nella terza e quarta generazione, contro a coloro che odiano me;	5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 e facendo misericordia, in migliaia, a quelli che amano me, e che guardano li comandamenti miei.	6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Non riceverai il nome di Dio invano; e colui il quale piglierà il nome del Signore Iddio suo in darno, sarà colperole.	7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 E stiati a mente, che lo die del sabbato tu santifichi.	8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Sei di adopererai, e farai tutti li lavorii tuoi.	9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 Ma nel settimo dì, cioè il sabbato; però ch' esso è dì del Signore tuo Iddio; non farai in quello dì niuno tuo fatto, nè tu, nè il figliuol tuo, nè la figliuola tua, nè lo servo tuo, nè l'ancilla tua, nè la bestia tua, e lo forestiere il quale sia dentro alle porte tue (non faccia cosa di lavorio).	10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 Impercioche Iddio in sei dì fece lo cielo e la terra, e lo mare ed ogni cosa ch' è in quello; e il dì settimo si riposoe. E perciò benedisse Iddio lo dì del sabbato, e santificò quello.	11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Onora lo padre tuo e la madre tua, acciò che tu viva lungamente sopra la terra, la quale lo Signore Iddio darà a te.	12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13 Non uccidere.	13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Non ti impacciar con la mogliere d'altrui.	14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Non farai furto.	15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Non favellerai contro al prossimo tuo la falsa testimonianza.	16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Non desiderare la casa del prossimo tuo; e non desiderare la sua moglie nè il servo suo, non l'ancilla sua, (non la pecora), non lo bue, non l'asino, non niuna cosa che sue siano, (cioè del prossimo, o di cui di sopra t'ho nominato).	17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
18 E tutto lo popolo udiva le voci e li lampi e lo suono della buccina; e lo monte fumante vedeano; ed ispaventati di paura stettero da lungi,	18 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
19 dicendo a Moise: favella tu, e noi udiremo; non favelli a noi lo Signore, acciò che noi per avventura non moriamo.	19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
20 E disse Moisè al popolo: non abbiate paura; acciò che provasse voi, venne Iddio, acciò che la paura sua fosse in voi, acciò che voi non peccaste.	20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
21 Ed istette il popolo dalla lunga; e Moisè se n'andò alla oscurità, dove era Iddio.	21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
22 Disse ancora lo Signore a Moisè: queste cose dirai ai figliuoli d'Israel: voi vedeste che del cielo io favellai a voi.	22 And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
23 Non farete gli dii dell' ariento; nè gli dii dell' oro farete a voi.	23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
24 Farete a me l'altare di terra; e offerirete sopra quello li sacrificii e le pacifiche cose vostre, le pecore e buovi vostri, in ogni luogo nel quale la memoria sarà del nome mio; verrà a te; benedicerò te.	24 An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
25 E se l'altare farai a me di pietre, non edificherai quello di pietre segate; e se tu farai lo olocausto tuo sopra quello, si violerà.	25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
26 Non andare sopra lo grado allo mio altare, acciò che non si rinnovelli la sozzura tua (cioè il peccato)	26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
