| 1 Il punto centrale delle cose che stiamo dicendo è questo: noi abbiamo un tale sommo sacerdote che si è assiso alla destra del trono della maestà nei cieli, | 1 Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, |
| 2 ministro del santuario e del tabernacolo vero, che ha fatto il Signore, non un uomo. | 2 a minister in the sanctuary and the true tent which is set up not by man but by the Lord. |
| 3 Ogni sommo sacerdote, infatti viene stabilito per offrire doni e sacrifici; perciò è necessario che anche questi abbia qualche cosa da offrire. | 3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices; hence it is necessary for this priest also to have something to offer. |
| 4 Se dunque fosse sulla terra, non sarebbe neppure sacerdote, essendovi quelli che offrono i doni secondo la legge. | 4 Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, since there are priests who offer gifts according to the law. |
| 5 I quali servono, in immagine e ombra delle cose celesti, conforme all'oracolo di cui è stato beneficato Mosè, quando stava per compiere il tabernacolo: Guarda, dice infatti, di fare tutto secondo il modello che ti è stato mostrato sul monte. | 5 They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly sanctuary; for when Moses was about to erect the tent, he was instructed by God, saying, "See that you make everything according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain." |
| 6 Ma ora Cristo ha ricevuto un ministero tanto più eccellente, quanto più eccellente è l'alleanza di cui egli è mediatore, la quale appunto è stata fondata su migliori promesse. | 6 But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry which is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises. |
| 7 Se infatti quella antica fosse stata irreprensibile, non si sarebbe cercato il posto per una seconda. | 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion for a second. |
| 8 Rimproverandoli infatti dice: Ecco, vengono i giorni, dice il Signore, e io concluderò con la casa d'Israele e con la casa di Giuda una nuova alleanza. | 8 For he finds fault with them when he says: "The days will come, says the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah; |
| 9 Non sarà come l'alleanza che ho fatto con i loro antenati, nel giorno in cui li ho presi per mano, per trarli fuori dall'Egitto; poiché essi non rimasero nella mia alleanza, anch'io, dice il Signore, li ho trascurati. | 9 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they did not continue in my covenant, and so I paid no heed to them, says the Lord. |
| 10 Perché questa è l'alleanza che contrarrò con la casa d'Israele: dopo quei giorni, dice il Signore, io darò le mie leggi nella loro mente e le scriverò nei loro cuori e io sarò il loro Dio ed essi saranno il mio popolo. | 10 This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. |
| 11 Essi non avranno più da istruire ciascuno il suo concittadino e ciascuno il proprio fratello, dicendo: conosci il Signore! Perché tutti mi conosceranno, dal più piccolo al più grande. | 11 And they shall not teach every one his fellow or every one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all shall know me, from the least of them to the greatest. |
| 12 Perché io sarò misericordioso verso le loro iniquità e dei loro peccati non mi ricorderò mai più. | 12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more." |
| 13 Nel parlare di un'alleanza nuova, Dio ha reso antiquata la precedente. Ora, ogni cosa che viene resa antiquata e che invecchia è vicina a scomparire. | 13 In speaking of a new covenant he treats the first as obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. |
